Cleaning Instructions
Before and after each use, clean the thermometer with a soft cloth and 70% isopropyl
alcohol diluted with water, or wash with COLD soapy water. Wipe again with a clean,
water-dampened cloth and let dry.
1. The unit must never be sterilized by boiling, gas or steam autoclaves.
2. The use of any other solution or cleaning method beyond the above mentioned may
result in reliability problems with the thermometer and void your warranty.
How to Take Your Temperature
NOTE: Measure ent ti e ay vary based on the selected site.
1. Clean and disinfect the thermometer according to the instructions provided.
2. Apply a disposable probe cover to the clean, dry thermometer.
3. Determine whether the measurement site will be oral, rectal or underarm.
Switching Dual Scale
NOTE: To change between Celsius and Fahrenheit readings, hold the POWER button
down for 2 seconds until the“Lo” with an “M” displays and changes between °F and °C.
Press the POWER button again to turn the thermometer off.
Once the desired temperature scale is selected, press the POWER button
(the unit will beep) to activate the thermometer. This is the LCD display test,
which ensures all parts of the display are functioning properly. The
FeverVue frown face icon will also light up.
The thermometer will display the last reading taken, followed by a self-test
temperature 98.6°F(37.0°C) for about 1 second. The display will show “Lo”
with a flashing °F(°C) indicating the thermometer is ready for measurement.
NOTE: If the temperature is less than 89.6°F(32.00°C), the LCD displays “Lo” °F(°C). If the
temperature is greater than 110°F(43.00°), the LCD displays “ i” F°(C°).

General Care
1. The thermometer should only be used under the supervision of an adult.
2. Do not walk, run or talk during temperature taking.
3. Clean the thermometer before and after each use.
4. Store the unit in the protective case when not in use.
5. Do not bite the probe.
6. Do not store the unit where it will be exposed to direct sunlight, dust or humidity.
Avoid extreme temperatures.
7. Dropping or subjecting your thermometer to strong shocks should be avoided.
8. Do not attempt to disassemble the unit, except to replace the battery.
9. If ERR displays and measurement is not attainable, the unit must be replaced.
NOTE: Performance of the device may be degraded if: operated outside of stated
temperature and humidity range; stored outside of stated temperature and humidity
range; thermometer undergoes mechanical shock (drop); patient temperature is
below ambient temperature.
Changing the Battery
The battery in your digital thermometer needs to be replaced
when the “ ” symbol appears in the lower right corner of the
display. Replace the battery with a AG10(LR1130/LR54) alkaline
or equivalent.
To replace the battery,
1. Remove the battery cover from the top of the thermometer.
2. Use a pointed tool to remove the battery.
3. Insert the new battery with positive (+) side facing up.
4. Slide the battery cover back in to place.
NOTE: Please properly dispose of the battery away fro s all children and heat.
Taking an Oral Temperature
Approximate measurement time: 10-20 seconds
1. Using the diagram on the right, place the probe tip under the tongue as near as
possible to the heat pocket. The diagram also shows the temperature variables by not
placing the tip in the heat pocket area.
NOTE: Drinking hot or cold fluids, exercising,
s oking or perfor ing other activities ay
raise or lower your te perature. Therefore, it is
i portant to relax for approxi ately 5 inutes
with your outh closed prior to taking a
reading.
2. The current temperature is shown and the
°F(°C) will continue to flash during the
reading.
3. When the peak temperature has been
reached, the °F(°C) will stop flashing. The
thermometer will sound ten long beeps if
the temperature is below 100°F(37.8°C). If
the temperature is above 100°F(37.8°C) the unit will sound 30 short beeps and the
FeverVue frown face icon will light up.
4. To turn the unit off, press the ON/OFF button. The unit will automatically shut off after
approximately three minutes.
NOTE: The outh ust re ain closed during the easure ent for the ost
accurate reading. Opening the outh could result in an extended easure ent ti e and ay
affect the reading.

instructions to achieve the most accurate temperatures and safe operation. With proper
care and use, your thermometer will provide you with reliable readings.
It is enhanced
with a beeper, memory and fever alarm. The following instructions will cover your
thermometer’s features in further detail.
What is a “Normal”Temperature?
Although the generally accepted “normal” temperature reading is 98.6°F(37°),
temperature readings can vary from 97.0°F(36.1°C) to 99.0°F(37.2°C) and still may be
considered “normal”. Variations in temperature can be attributed to activities such as
exercise, smoking, eating and drinking. Even time of day may influence your temperature.
For example, your temperature is lower in the morning than in the afternoon. Other
variations may be due to the location of the temperature reading. While the oral
temperature follows the guidelines previously described, a rectal temperature is
generally 1.0°F higher. Conversely, an axillary (under the arm) temperature will be 1.0°F
lower.
Features of Your Digital Thermometer
Taking an Axillary Temperature (under the arm)
Approximate measurement time: 20-30 seconds
1. Wipe the underarm with a dry towel.
2. Place the probe tip under the arm so the tip is touching the skin with the
thermometer perpendicular to the body.
3. Position the arm across the chest so the probe tip is well covered by the arm. This also
ensures the probe is not affected by the room’s air.
4. When the peak temperature has been reached, the °F(°C) will stop flashing. The
thermometer will sound ten long beeps if the temperature is below 100°F(37.8°C). If
the temperature is above 100°F(37.8°C) the unit will sound thirty short beeps.
5. To turn the unit off, press the ON/OFF button. The unit will automatically shut off after
approximately three minutes.
NOTE: Axillary te peratures are generally 1.0°F(0.5°C) lower than oral readings.
Taking a Rectal Temperature
Approximate measurement time: 10 seconds
NOTE: Rectal te peratures are an appropriate and reliable ethod for infants and s all
children. Otherwise, this ethod should only be used when it is i possible or i practical to
take an oral or axillary te perature.
1. After applying the disposable probe cover, apply a water-soluble lubricant to
the tip; do not use petroleum jelly.
2. Gently insert the probe a MAXIMUM of 1/2” into the rectum.
3. When the peak temperature has been reached, the °F(°C) will stop flashing. The
thermometer will sound ten long beeps if the temperature is below 100°F(37.8°C). If
the temperature is above 100°F(37.8°C) the unit will sound thirty short beeps.
4. To turn the unit off, press the ON/OFF button. The unit will automatically power down
after approximately three minutes.
NOTE: Rectal te peratures are generally 1.0°F(0.5°C) higher than oral readings.
Using Disposable Probe Covers
It is recommended to use the enclosed disposable probe covers to prevent cross
contamination. Additional probe covers can be purchased from your retailer or with the
order form provided.

The warrantor guarantees that its Thermometer will be free from manufacturing
defects under normal use for one year from the original purchase date. This
warranty covers only normal use, and does not apply to use in any clinical or
commercial applications. This warranty does not cover batteries that may be
provided with or used with the Thermometer. This warranty is voided if the
Thermometer product is misused or abused in any manner.
If the Thermometer fails to operate during the first year from the time originally
purchased, please call our Customer Care elp Line at 800-622-4714 and we will
try to resolve the issue as soon as possible. If the warrantor determines the unit
failed to operate due to a manufacturing defect, the unit will be replaced at the
option of the warrantor. Replacement is the sole remedy under this limited
warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, which vary from state to
state. As a condition of this warranty, the enclosed warranty registration card must
be completed and sent to us within 10 days of the purchase date or can be filled
out online at www.mabisdmi.com.
This warranty constitutes the warrantor’s only responsibility and obligation to
replace materials or components.
We make no other express or implied
warranties, arising by operation of law or otherwise, or any warranty of
merchantability or fitness for a particular use or purpose whether or not the
use or purpose has been disclosed to the warrantor in specifications, drawings

Instrucciones de Limpieza

Cómo Tomar la Temperatura

Cambio De Escala Dual
NOTA: Para cambiar entre lecturas Celcius y Fahrenheit, presione el botón POWER
[Encendido] durante 2 segundos hasta que en el visor se ve “Lo” con una “M” y cambia
entre °F y °C. Presionar nuevamente el botón POWER para apagar el termómetro.
Una vez seleccionada la escala de la temperatura deseada, presione el
botón POWER (encendido) (la unidad emitirá un pitido) para activar el
termómetro. Ésta es la prueba de la pantalla LCD, la cual asegura que todas
las partes de la pantalla estén funcionando adecuadamente. También se
encenderá el ícono de cara con ceño fruncido FeverVue.
El termómetro mostrará la última temperatura que se tomó, seguido de
un auto test de temperatura 98.6°F(37.0°C) por aproximadamente 1
segundo. El visor mostrará“Lo” con °F(°C) intermitente que indica que el ter
mómetro está listo para su uso.
NOTA: si la temperatura es inferior a 89.6°F (32.00°C), el visor LCD muestra“Lo” °F (°C). Si

para lograr las temperaturas más precisas y un funcionamiento seguro. Con el cuidado y
el uso adecuados, su termómetro le proporcionará lecturas confiables. Está mejorado con
un beeper, memoria y una alarma para la fiebre. Las siguientes instrucciones abarcarán las
características de su termómetro en detalle.
¿Qué es Temperatura “Normal”?
Si bien la temperatura “normal” es de 98.6°F(37.0°C), las lecturas de las temperaturas
pueden variar desde los 97°F(36.1°C) hasta los 99°F(37.2°C) y aún así considerarse
“normales”. Las variaciones en la temperatura pueden atribuirse a distintos factores tales
como hacer ejercicio, fumar, comer y beber. Aun la hora del día puede influir en su
temperatura. Por ejemplo, la temperatura es más baja por la mañana que por la tarde.
Otras variaciones pueden deberse a la ubicación de la lectura de la temperatura. Mientras
que la temperatura oral sigue las instrucciones descriptas anteriormente, la temperatura
rectal es generalmente 1.0°F(0.5°C) superior. Por el contrario, la temperatura en la axila
(debajo del brazo) será 1.0°F(0.5°C) inferior.
Funciones de su Termómetro Digital
Cómo Tomar la Temperatura en la Axila (debajo del brazo)
Tiempo de medición aproximado: 20-30 segundos
1. Seque la axila con una toalla seca.
2. Coloque la punta del medidor debajo del brazo de modo que la punta toque la piel con
el termómetro en forma perpendicular al cuerpo.
3. Cuando se a alcanzado la temperatura máxima el grado °F(°C) parara el destellar si la
temperatura esta debajo de 100 grados F(37.8 grados C) el termómetro sonara diez
señales largas. Si la temperatura esta sobre 100 grados F(37.8 grados C) la unidad
sonara diez señales cortas.
4. Cuando se ha alcanzado la temperatura pico, los grados °F (°C) dejarán de destellar. El
termómetro emitirá diez pitidos largos si la temperatura es inferior a 100 °F (37,8 °C). Si
la temperatura es superior a 100 °F (37,8 °C) la unidad emitirá 30 pitidos cortos y se
iluminará el ícono de cara con ceño fruncido FeverVue.
5. Para apagar la unidad, presione el botón de ENCENDIDO/APAGADO. La unidad se
apagará automáticamente después de transcurridos aproximadamente tres minutos.
NOTA: La te peratura axilar es general ente 1°F(0.5°C) enor a la te peratura oral.
Cómo Tomar la Temperatura Rectal
Tiempo de medición aproximado: 10 segundos
NOTA: La te peratura rectal es un étodo apropiado y confiable para bebes y niños
pequeños. De lo contrario, este étodo sólo deberá usarse cuando resulte
i posible o i práctico to ar la te peratura oral o axilar.
1. Luego de colocar la cubierta desechable del medidor, aplique en la punta un lubri-

Cómo Usar las Cubiertas Desechables del edidor
Se recomienda usar las cubiertas desechables para medidor incluidas aquí para
evitar la contaminación. Puede comprar más cubiertas desechables para medidor a un
Distribuidor o con el formulario de pedido adjunto.
Cuidado General
1. Siempre utilice el termómetro con la supervisión de un adulto.
2. No camine, corra o hable durante la toma de la temperatura.
3. Limpie el termómetro antes y después de cada uso.
4. Guarde la unidad en el estuche protector cuando no la utilice.
5. No muerda el medidor.
6. No exponga la unidad a la luz del sol directa, polvo o humedad. Evite las
temperaturas extremas.
7. Evite dejar caer el termómetro o los grandes golpes.
8. No intente desarmar la unidad, excepto para cambiar la batería.
9. Si aparece ERR en el visor y no se obtiene una medida, deberá reemplazar la unidad.
NOTA: El desempeño de este dispositivo puede verse afectado si: se opera fuera de los
niveles de temperatura y humedad recomendados, si se almacena bajo niveles de
temperatura y humedad fuera de los recomendados, si el termómetro se somete a un
golpe mecánico (se lo deja caer), si la temperatura del paciente está por debajo de la
temperatura ambiente.
Cómo Cambiar la Batería
Deberá cambiar la batería del termómetro digital cuando los
números y el símbolo “ ” aparezca en el centro del visor.
Reemplazar la batería por una AG10(LR1130/LR54) o
equivalente
Para reemplazar la batería:
1. Quitar la cubierta de la batería en la parte posterior del
termómetro utilizando una moneda o herramienta pequeña. Girar la tapa en sentido
contrario a las agujas del reloj y levantar suavemente.
2. Quite la batería utilizando una herramienta de punta no metálica y coloque la nueva
batería con el signo negativo (–) hacia lado trasero de la unidad.
3. Deslice con cuidado la tapa de la batería hasta que quede en su lugar y asegúrese de
que ésta quede bien ajustada para evitar que entre humedad en el compartimiento.
NOTA: Deshágase de la batería de odo que quede lejos de los niños o del calor.

Tiempo de medición aproximado: 10-20 segundos
1. Utilizando el diagrama ubicado a la
derecha, coloque la punta del medidor
debajo de la lengua lo más cerca posible

NOTA: La ingestión de líquidos fríos o calientes,
los ejercicios físicos, el fu ar o realizar otras
actividades pueden contribuir a que su te per-
atura suba o baje. Por lo tanto, es i portante
descansar aproxi ada ente 5 inutos con la
boca cerrada antes de to arse la te peratura.
2. Aparece la temperatura actual y el símbolo
“°F(°C)” continuará titilando durante la
lectura de la temperatura.
3. Cuando se ha alcanzado la temperatura pico, los grados °F (°C) dejarán de destellar. El
termómetro emitirá diez pitidos largos si la temperatura es inferior a 100 °F (37,8 °C).

producto de cualquier manera.
Si el termómetro no funciona durante el primer año desde la fecha de compra
original, llame a nuestra Línea de ayuda de atención al cliente al 800-622-4714 e
intentaremos resolver el problema tan pronto como sea posible. Si el garante
determina que la unidad ha dejado de funcionar debido a un defecto de fabricación, se
reemplazará la unidad a discreción del garante. Bajo esta garantía limitada, el
reemplazo es la única solución. Esta garantía le ofrece derechos legales específicos, los
cuales varían en cada estado. Como condición de esta garantía, se debe completar y
enviar la tarjeta de registro de garantía adjunta a nosotros en un plazo de 10 días desde
la fecha de compra o puede completarse en línea en www.mabisdmi.com.
Esta garantía constituye la única responsabilidad y obligación del garante de
reemplazar los materiales o componentes. No realizamos ninguna otra garantía
expresa o implícita, que surja por la aplicación de la ley u otras disposiciones, ni
ninguna garantía de comerciabilidad o aptitud para un uso o fin particular ya sea que
el uso o fin se haya revelado o no al garante en las especificaciones, planos o similar, y
si los productos del garante están diseñados y/o fabricados específicamente por el
garante para el uso o el fin del comprador, excepto por la garantía limitada
mencionada anteriormente. El garante no se responsabilizará de ningún daño o
pérdida indirecta, incidental, especial, consecuente ni daños punitivos u otro tipo de
pérdida, incluyendo, entre otros, los daños o la pérdida de otros bienes o equipos y
lesiones personales, ya sea hacia el comprador o terceros. El garante no será en ningún
caso, responsable hacia el comprador de ningún monto que supere el costo de la
reparación y/o el reemplazo de la unidad.
