1. Unpacking
The equipment is packed in three separate packages as follows:
Dental unit with armset, accessories, and a box containing the mounting
parts
UnicLine patient chair
Dental light
Unpack the unit and chair with caution.
Remove the bubble plastic around the unit console and demount the sides of the
console by turning the 2 large screws with the UnicLine logo on them (1). To avoid
damages, do not remove the plastic on the spittoon, telescopic arm, instrument
arm and instrument table.

2. Installation
2.1 Static electricity
Avoid electrostatic discharge!
Before touching any of the electronics, make sure the equipment is switched off
and the unit is connected with the equipment’s ground.
In an emergency, hold on to the console during the mounting.
2.2 Installation requirements
For installation placement, see Chapter 5 –Installation plan and floor design
During installation, it is the responsibility of the technician to ensure that all
installations meet and is implemented in compliance with national and
international requirements.
1. 230 Volt +/- 10%. 50 Hz with ground. Main fuse 10A. The cable must have
a free end of at least 35 cm.
2. Water, pressure 2 - 6 bar. Balltap with R 3/8” inner thread. Top 5 cm
above the floor.
3. The water should be drinking quality and if the water has hardness greater
than 8 ºdH (1 ºdH = 20 mg calsium/3 l water) a water conditioner must be
fitted to the water inlet pipe. Hard water can very quickly ruin a dental
unit.
4. Air, pressure 4,5-8 bar. Balltap with R 3/8” inner thread. Top 5 cm above
the floor.
5. Drain, outside diameter 35 mm, PVC tube, Top 5 cm above the floor
(DN40).
6. Suction, outside diameter 32 mm, PVC tube, Top 5 cm above the floor
(DN40)
7. Steering wire to suction motor, 2x1,5mm^2, Free end 50 cm above the
floor.
8. Steering wire to call systen, 2x1,5 mm^2, Free end 50 cm above the floor.
9. For wiring to X-ray, the type and number of cable depends on the
manufacture. Free end minimum is 50cm above the floor.
Installation of the cable can be made over the floor. If this is the case, drill a hole
in one of the side parts. The equipment must not be mounted near strong radio-
or radar installations.
2.3 Console
1. Drill 6 holes Ø 10 mm in the floor according to the drill plan or mounting
pattern. Chapter 5.1
2. Tighten 2 nuts on each mounting bolt and screw the bolts into the drilled
holes. If the floor is made of a porous material, request a floor mounting
plate (item no. a-482(9010)) with the unit.

3. Take the nuts off each mounting bolt and place the unit console over the 6
bolts in the floor.
4. Place a level on the arm’s contact face on the console, where the arm set is
to be mounted and adjust the balance screws with the enclosed tool, until
the console is levelled. The console is to be as close to the floor as possible.
5. Put a washer on each mounting bolt and screw a nut on each bolt.
6. Tighten the nut.

2.4 Instrumentarm and instrument table
1. With the instrument arm wrapped up in plastic film, carefully pull wires
and tubes free.
2. Place a metal washer (1) on the top of the console as indicated. Next, place
the ball bearing (2) and then a metal washer (3). Lastly, place the Teflon
washer (4) as shown in the diagram below.
Parts are delivered in a plastic bag.
3. Lift the instrument arm and place it gently in the consol top for arm.
The instrument arm needs to fit tightly to the surface.
4. Thread the water and air hoses through the hole (5).
The green hose (water) is mounted on the water distribution device (6).
The blue hose (air) is mounted on the air distribution device (7).
5. Mount the Return air device (7a) and connect the yellow hose, Dim. Ø4
between (7b) and (7c).
6. Attach the yellow return air hose, Dim. Ø6 to the return air device for
connection (8).
7. Mount the ground wire with screws in the consol (9).
8. The wire for the instrument tabel is mounted with a socket onto the main
board (10)placed in the top right corner. Be aware that the socket is placed
proper.
9. If there is another 2 pole cable from the instrument table, please connect
this cable to the main board screw terminal (11).
10. Mount and tighten the friction break screw (incl. the washer and break
cylinder) in the consol (12) to the dentist’s preference.
11. Carefully un wrap the instrument table and the instrument arm.

2.5 Foot control
1. Mount the foot control through the socket (1), and tighten with your
fingers.
2.6 Operating lamp
1. Mount the adaptor tube with the plastic bracket in the hole (2) and
gently push the tube down, until it is mounted tightly.
2. Lead the lamp cable through the adapter tube and feather until
it reaches the power distribution board.
3. Place the lamp on the adapter tube.
4. Connect the cable to the power distribution board terminal, labelled:
Lamps.
If the unit is provided with a turn on/turn off function, please connect the lamp
cable to the circuit, labelled: ON/OFF.
2.7 X-ray machine
1. Mount the adapter tube with the plastic bracket into the hole (3) and
gently push it into place. Ensure it is mounted firmly.
2. Thread the X-ray machine cable through the adaptor tube.
3. Place the X-ray machine on the adapter tube.
3. Connect the X-ray machine according the prescribed procedure from
the supplier.
2.8 Call system
1. Mount the cable from the call system to the power distribution board
terminal, labelled: Bell.

2.9 Patient chair
1. Unwrap the chair.
2. Gently place the chair on the side, leaning against the floor. Mount the
foot control. Connect the socket to the distribution board.
3. Gently place the chair in its normal position again. Mount the chair on
the floor as shown in the installation plan.
4. Mount the armrest. (If ordered)
5. The Cable from the chair leads through the “relief” connecting piece.
(page 7) Connect it to the power distribution board terminal, labelled:
Chair.
6. Mount the cushion. Push the keyhole cuts on the backside of the
cushion, gently over the screw heads. (Begin on the end with leg
support.)
7. Mount the back cushion.
8. Place the UnicLine sticker (5).

2.10 Connections
1. Rinse the water supply and ventilate the air supply completely, before
connecting the unit (for at least for 5 min.).
2. Connect the green tube (water) to the tap. Use the supplied fittings
and the water filter input slot. Open the water supply. Make sure you
tighten and inspect all connections for any leaks.
3. Connect the blue tube (air) to the tap. Use the supplied fittings and
the air filter input slot. Open the air supply. Make sure you tighten
and inspect all connections for any leaks.
4. Connect the suction system from the unit to the suction system in the
Clinic. The Unit can be delivered with either wet- or dry suction.
5. Connect the waste tube from the spittoon and cup to the supplied
fittings. Connect the air filter ventilation tube.
6. Connect the waste fitting to the clinic waste pipe.
7. Mount the suction motor cable to the power distribution board
terminal labelled ‘Aspir’.
8. Connect main power to the power distribution board terminal labelled
‘Mains’.

2.13 Adjustment
1. Turn the unit on.
2. Pull knob (1) on water filter up and adjust the water pressure to 0.5
Bar.
3. Activate the syringe with water until all air has left the system.
4. Adjust the water pressure to 2 Bar and push button (1) down again.
5. Pull bottom (2) on the air filter up and adjust air pressure to 4.5 Bar.
6. Mount the spittoon rinse pipe (3) and the cup fill pipe (4).
7. Place a cup in the cup holder. Program the cup fill –and the spittoon
rinse time.

8. Mount the two suction hoses ensuring the larger hose is placed away
from the chair.
9. If the unit is provided with an automatic suction pipe cleaning system,
fill the container with cleaning fluid.
10. Mount all instruments on the instrument bridge. Test each instrument
function. Adjust the spray quantity to the dentist’s desired quantity
using the knobs under the instrument table.
11. Position any hand held instruments the dentist normally uses together
with the surgery equipment.
12. Dismount cover on the backside (5). Dismount the instrument joint (6)
(mounted with a magnet). Lastly, dismount cover (7) on the arm.
13. Loosen the break screws (8) for the springs. Adjust the springs.
Tighten the break screws for the springs (9) and (10).
14. Remount all covers.
15. Power the patient chair on.
16. Program any position the dentist prefers.

To be completed by authorized technician.

4. Installation/Service Card
Place this installation/service card in the plastic folder at the inner side of the
cover plate for the console.
Attention
The installation card must be completed and returned to Heka Dental A/S
by an authorized service engineer. The two annual service cards must be
completed by an authorized service engineer and returned to Heka Dental
A/S immediately after each service visit in order for the 3-year warranty to
remain in effect.
