Only the Best Water
Gets Past the Iron Curtain.
The Iron CurtainTM Filtration System is among
the simplest, most economical and effective
iron filters available. It removes iron, sulfur, and
manganese from water.
The reason your water can taste, look and smell
so bad is the incredibly high concentrations of
dissolved minerals. You can't see or feel them,
but they're there! And you can sure smell and
taste them.
Your iron water passes through an aeration
tank which converts dissolved minerals such as
iron, manganese, and sulfur into physical
particles. These particles continue circulating
in the tank long enough to grow to a size
where they can be trapped in the filter. The
Iron Curtain Filtration system then removes
these minerals . . . leaving clean, good
smelling, good tasting water.
The Iron Curtain is the best solution the
industry has to offer. It's unique operation
reduces costs and maintenance while
delivering years of trouble-free service.
How does an
Iron Curtain work?
1. Mineral-rich water is forced through an
aeration tank which converts dissolved
minerals such as iron, manganese and
sulfur into physical particles.
2. These tiny mineral particles then
circulate in the system for enough time to
grow to a size where they are trapped in
the filter tank. This way, the highest
level of dissolved minerals can be easily
removed from your water.
Better in the bath. Better in the laundry. Better from the faucet.
NEW! IC-2.0 Technology Upgrade
The new IC-2.0 technology marks the first major upgrade to
the original and proven 1992 patented Iron Curtain System.
Since then, the Iron Curtain System has been called the
most reliable and best iron and sulfur (rotten egg odor)
system design by leading water treatment professionals in
the industry. This new technology gives you:
•Individual factory by-pass valves for both the aeration
tank and filter tank assemblies.
•Reduced installation materials.
•Reduced installation time.
•Reduction in regeneration water.
•Independently time controlled air recharge cycles up to
six times per day for greater oxidation capabilities.
•Non-metallic valve body.
•Built-in pressure relief valve.
•Less service on air compressor and longer life.
•Modular design for ease of service.
The Iron Curtain
•Requires no chemicals or salt for operation or regeneration.
•Requires no air injectors, venturis or micronizers.
•Removes concentrations of dissolved and precipitated iron.
• Increases the pH of acid water on type “A” systems.
The Iron Curtain Filtration System is available in single, twin, tri-
plex and four-plex filter configurations covering a wide range
of flow rate applications from 5 gpm (gallons per minute) to
over 450 gpm. There is a Hellenbrand Iron Curtain Filtration
System for virtually any residential or commercial need.
Hellenbrand Warranty
Hellenbrand warranties every Iron Curtain Filtration
System in accordance with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty
Act. Ask your Iron Curtain Dealer for full details.
No Obligation Water Analysis

Millennium Drinking Water Systems
Hellenbrand Millennium Drinking Water Systems use a technology called reverse
osmosis to provide water the way it was meant to be – clear, pure, fresh, and safe -
without many of the contaminants found in ordinary tap water. The Millennium
Drinking Water System provides pristine, flavorful coffee, tea, juices, and better-
tasting soups, sauces, and meals. Drinking quality water is an important part to
maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Ultraviolet “UV” Disinfection Systems
All of us are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays from a variety of sources, including the
sun. When used with water treatment in a high-powered form called “germicidal
UV,” these rays are capable of disinfecting water by penetrating the cells of
harmful bacteria and viruses. With proper pre-treatment for suspended solids
(compounds such as iron and tannins) and softened water, these systems are
effective in destroying up to 99.99% of harmful microorganisms.
Chlorine Curtain
Hellenbrand Chlorine Curtain is used to remove unwanted chlorine, taste, and
odors that may be present in your water supply. Chlorine is present in most
city water supplies to prevent harmful bacteria growth as it travels from the
source to your home.
While chlorine is effective in controlling many microorganisms, it can react with
natural organic matter and form potentially harmful disinfection by-products
(Trihalomethanes - THM’s). Many of these by-products have been shown to
cause cancer and have reproductive effects. Hellenbrand’s Chlorine Curtain
easily and effectively reduces chlorine and other unwanted tastes and odors in
your drinking water.
AutoMate®, ProMate®and WaterMateTM Conditioners
Hard water creates scale, which can shorten the life of your pipes, water heater,
dishwasher, and washing machine. Hard water deposits stain sinks and bathtubs,
spot glassware, silverware and dishes, and leave your laundry dull and dingy.
These conditioners remove calcium and magnesium, the hardness minerals,
leaving your water softer, cleaner and user friendly. Softer water saves you money.
Satisfaction Guaranteed
Hellenbrand and its dealers back every product with a complete commitment to
customer satisfaction and offer one of the most comprehensive product
warranties in the water treatment industry. See product specification sheets for
specific warranty details.
