HPE Apollo 2000 Gen10 Plus System
The HPE Apollo 2000 Gen10 Plus System is a dense, multiserver platform that packs incredible performance and
workload flexibility into a small data center space. The system oers a density-optimized, shared infrastructure with a
flexible scale-out architecture. The system supports a variety of workloads from remote site systems to large HPC clusters
and everything in between.
Chassis
The HPE Apollo n2000 Gen10 Plus series chassis occupies 2U space in the rack.
• HPE Apollo n2400 Gen10 Plus Chassis—This model has no drives, drive backplanes, and system interconnect
assemblies. This model provides optimum power and cooling eiciencies ideal for high-power processor
configurations.
• HPE Apollo n2600 Gen10 Plus Chassis
◦This model supports the following storage configurations:
– 8 SFF SAS/SATA/NVMe drive configuration
– 24 SFF SAS/SATA drive configuration
◦Drives are allocated equally across all server nodes.

HPE ProLiant XL225n Gen10 Plus Server—1U, dual-processor AMD server node
A 42U rack fits up to 20 Apollo n2000 Gen10 Plus series chassis. Each chassis can accommodate up to four 1U servers for
a total of 801U servers per rack.

Front panel LED power fault codes
The following table provides a list of power fault codes, and the subsystems that are aected. Not all power faults are
used by all servers.

Chassis UID LED
The chassis UID LED is used to locate a particular chassis when it is deployed in a dense rack with other equipment. When
the UID LED of any of the servers installed in the chassis is activated, the chassis UID LED also flashes blue. Activating the
UID LED allows an onsite technician to quickly identify a chassis for maintenance tasks.
UID button functionality
The UID button can be used to display the Server Health Summary when the server will not power on. For more

Server node orientation
The server node cover facilitates smooth node entry and ejection from the bay. When installing the server into the bay,
observe the correct node orientation.
• Left side—The node cover must be facing down with the release lever on the top side of the bay.
• Right side—The node cover must be facing up with the release lever on the bottom side of the bay.
The following image is shown from the perspective of a user facing the chassis rear panel. The release lever is shown in
amber color.
Drive configurations
The HPE Apollo n2000 Gen10 Plus series chassis occupies 2U space in the rack and supports the following drive
configurations:
• HPE Apollo n2400 Gen10 Plus Chassis—This model has no drives, drive backplanes, and system interconnect
assemblies. This model provides optimum power and cooling eiciencies ideal for high-power processor
configurations.
• HPE Apollo n2600 Gen10 Plus Chassis
◦This model supports the following storage configurations:
– 8 SFF SAS/SATA/NVMe drive configuration
– 24 SFF SAS/SATA drive configuration
◦Drives are allocated equally across all server nodes.
Node-to-drive association
The drive cage is structured into four drive boxes. Each drive box is assigned to a specific node number. Install drives only
in the drive box that has the associated server node installed.

1 Locate • Solid blue = The drive is being identified by a host
application.
• Flashing blue = The drive carrier firmware is being updated
or requires an update.
2 Activity ring • Rotating green = Drive activity.
•O = No drive activity.
3 Do not remove • Solid white = Do not remove the drive. Removing the drive
causes one or more of the logical drives to fail.
•O = Removing the drive does not cause a logical drive to
fail.
4 Drive status • Solid green = The drive is a member of one or more logical
drives.
• Flashing green = The drive is doing one of the following:
◦Rebuilding or performing a RAID migration
◦Performing a strip size migration
◦Performing a capacity expansion
◦Performing a logical drive extension
◦Erasing
• Flashing amber/green = The drive is a member of one or
more logical drives and predicts the drive will fail.
• Flashing amber = The drive is not configured and predicts
the drive will fail.
• Solid amber = The drive has failed, is unsupported, or is
invalid.
•O = The drive is not configured by a RAID controller or a
spare drive.

Operations
Power up the server
The Apollo n2000 Gen10 Plus series chassis firmware initiates an automatic power-up sequence when the servers are
installed. If the default setting is changed, use one of the following methods to power up each server:
• Use a virtual power button selection through iLO 5.
• Press and release the Power On/Standby button.
When the server goes from standby mode to full power mode, the server power LED changes from amber to green.
Power down the server
Before powering down the server for any upgrade or maintenance procedures, perform a backup of critical server data
and programs.
IMPORTANT: When the server is in standby mode, auxiliary power is still being provided to the system.
To power down the server, use one of the following methods:
• Press and release the Power On/Standby button.
This method initiates a controlled shutdown of applications and the OS before the server enters standby mode.
• Press and hold the Power On/Standby button for more than 4 seconds to force the server to enter standby mode.
This method forces the server to enter standby mode without properly exiting applications and the OS. If an
application stops responding, you can use this method to force a shutdown.
• Use a virtual power button selection through iLO 5.
This method initiates a controlled remote shutdown of applications and the OS before the server enters standby
mode.
Before proceeding, verify that the server is in standby mode by observing that the system power LED is amber.
Power capping
Server power capping is useful when you want to hold the actual used system power to a specific amount. This amount
might be lower than what the system configuration might maximally use. The power capping feature in the HPE Apollo
n2000 Gen10 Plus series chassis operates at the server enclosure (chassis) level.
To configure power capping, use one of the following:
• HPE Apollo Platform Manager (HPE APM)
APM is a rack-level device that can control power caps for all enclosures in the rack. A global power cap can be applied
to all enclosures with one APM command. Also, dierent caps can be applied to user-defined groups using flexible
zones within the same rack. Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends configuring the APM such that it controls only
