equivalent standard in other countries.
Child restraint laws vary from country to

This hifold booster seat is for use from 15
to 45kg (33 to 100lbs.).
The hifold is approved to UN ECE R44/04
as a Group 2-3 booster seat with a weight
range of 15 to 36kg.

Instruction Manual Storage:
Store instruction manual under Seat Base Cover.
Use only with a child that has outgrown their car seat
with a 5-point harness and can sit in the booster seat
properly for the entire duration of each trip. If your child
will not remain seated properly, your child should use a
child restraint with 5-point harness.
“Outgrown” means the child’s weight or height
exceeds the use limits for the car seat.
“Sitting properly” means the child must remain seated
without slouching under lap belt, moving shoulder
belt under arm or behind back, or leaning forward or
sideways moving out of position so the vehicle belt
remains properly positioned.

Failure to follow these user instructions and car
seat labels can result in injury or death to your
child.
•Use only the vehicle 3-point lap and shoulder belt
system when restraining a child in this booster
seat. Lap belt portion MUST be through both Lap
Belt Guides (Red) and shoulder belt MUST be
through Shoulder Belt Guide (Red).
•Snugly adjust vehicle lap and shoulder belt around
child, removing any twists or slack and according
to the vehicle owner’s manual.
•Check the position of the hifold booster and
vehicle belt to avoid them becoming trapped by
a movable seat or in a door of the vehicle during
everyday use.
•DO NOT allow any use of this booster seat after
a crash where a child was secured in the booster
seat.
•NEVER install the booster seat
with a 2-point lap belt only or only
the lap belt portion of a 3-point lap
and shoulder belt.
•Only use booster seat on forward-
facing vehicle seats with child
facing front of vehicle.

•Secure the booster seat even when not occupied
and secure any loose objects or luggage.
Unsecured items may injure other occupants in
a crash.
• DO NOT modify this booster seat, modications
can result in a serious injury or death in a crash.
•NEVER leave the child unattended.
•Only use accessories and replacement parts
approved by Carfoldio LTD. Do not use
accessories or parts made by other
manufacturers.
•Never use booster seat without seat covers. Seat
covers are an integral part of the booster seat.
•If the seat cover becomes damaged during
washing, then it must be replaced with a new
cover supplied by the manufacturer.
•The booster seat and seat belt parts can become
very hot if left in the sun and can burn the child.
Cover the seat when left in the sun.
•NEVER use the hifold Booster Seat in a
vehicle seating location with an active frontal
air bag. If in doubt refer to vehicle manual.
•Select a vehicle seating location that faces the
direction of travel and has a 3-point Adult Lap
and Shoulder Belt system.

c. Open the backrest side
panels until you hear a
click and they become
stable and locked .
d. On the backrest side panel
the seat back fold locking
button should project above
the top of the side panel
and be locked .
e. Open the headrest side
panels until you hear a click
and they become stable
and locked .

In preparing the hifold for use with your child, you
will need to adjust the height and width of the hifold
to t your child by following the steps in this section.
CAUTION: There are many folded and
hinged elements. Please be careful
when opening and closing to AVOID
pinching or trapping.
1.Unfold the booster seat.
a. Once released from the strap
grab the top edge of the
headrest and lift upwards
until the hifold backrest is
erect and aligned.
b. As the headrest and backrest become vertical
you should hear a click as they lock into place in
the vertical position .

c. Headrest Sides - Press the
button at the top of the
headrest and move the
side panels outwards .
d. Headrest & Backrest Height -
Lift the fabric ap found in
the center of the back rest
just below the headrest .
Grip the lever , rotate
upwards. Raise or lower the
backrest until the shoulder
belt guide on the headrest
is near the child’s
shoulder . Once at the
right height, release the
lever and lock the backrest
in position.

2.Adjust the hifold Booster to the maximum
height and maximum width as described below.
a. Seat Base Sides/Lap
Belt Guides - Adjust Seat
Base/Lap Belt Guides to
the maximum width by
pulling Seat Base Side
Lock on underside of
Seat Base. Then adjust to
be close but not touching
the child’s thighs .
b. Seat Back Sides - Adjust
Seat Back Sides out to
the maximum width by
depressing the lock on the
Seat Back Side Adjustment
Knob and rotate knob
counterclockwise to move
Seat Back Sides out.

4.Adjust the width of the
Headrest Sides so they
are close to child’s head.
See instructions in
“Preparing for Use”
section.
5.Secure child with the Vehicle
Lap and Shoulder belt.
a. Pull the vehicle lap and
shoulder belt across front
of child and connect to the
seat belt buckle.
b. Route vehicle lap belt
through Lap Belt Guide
in both Seat Base Sides
and pull to remove slack from
lap belt.
1.Sit child on the Booster
Seat with child’s lower and
upper back in contact with
the Seat Back, not slouching
down on the Seat Base with
lower torso forward of the Seat
Back.
2.Adjust Seat Base/Lap Belt
Guides into position next to
child’s thighs. See instructions
in “Adjusting the size to t your
child” page 6.
3.Adjust the width of the
Seat Back Sides so they
are close to child’s shoulders.
See instructions in
“Preparing for Use” section.

6.a. Place the vehicle shoulder
belt over child’s chest and
into the Shoulder Belt Guide
by sliding the entire belt
rearward into the slot
on the underside
of the Headrest
and then
guide the
edge up and
over the red
slot cover
so belt lays at.
b. Make sure the belts are not twisted.
7.Adjust the height of the
Headrest to position the
Shoulder Belt Guide just
above the top of your child’s
shoulder ensuring the full width
of the shoulder belt is on child’s
shoulder.
8.Pass the diagonal belt across
the child’s body and allow the
diagonal belt to pass over the
outside of the base side
panel belt guide .
Pass the lap section of the
adult belt through the red lap
belt guides on each side of the
hifold .
9.Check that vehicle lap belt
is supported on pelvis such that
the belt is low on hips and
contacting thighs and that
there is no slack or twists in the
seat belt.

1.Unbuckle Adult Seat Belt.
2.Slide lap portion of the Belt out of the Lap Belt
Guide in Seat Base Sides.
3.Remove the Adult Belt off the child.
4.Remove child from booster seat.

easy storage when not in use.
To store hifold Booster Seat:

•Aircraft Use - This restraint
isnotcertiedforusein
aircraft. Seat Covers (need to be removed prior to
washing):
Fabric seat covers are machine washable in cold
water, delicate or gentle cycle. No bleach. Line
dry. Do not wring. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron.
Booster Seat Plastic and White Foam:
Plastic seat surfaces and white foam can be
wiped down with a mild solution of soap and
water. Wipe with clean water to remove soap.

Warning:
•DO NOT allow any use of this booster seat after
a crash where a child was secured in the booster
seat.
•Do not sell or allow others to use a child restraint
that was occupied in a crash.
•This child restraint must be destroyed and
replaced if it was occupied during a crash.

Removal of Seat Back Cover:
•Similar to the headrest
cover, remove the side
panel sections by peeling
away from the inner foam.
To release the central
section pull forward and
unhook elastic loops (4 on
each side) from plastic
seat back .
•Reverse this process to
ret the cover.

To remove seat covers for cleaning:
Note: The cover is made up of three sections,
one headrest, one backrest and one base
section. Each section includes the middle and
two side sections.
Start from the headrest and backrest
and base .
Removal of Headrest Cover:
• Remove Headrest
Side covers rst by
starting at top rear
corner and pulling
Headrest Side Cover
off top of the inner
foam and then
continue around the
front and lower edge.
•Pull top center
section of the top
and free from the
inner foam and
then free at the
lower edge.
Reverse this
process to ret.

Removal of Seat Base Cover:
•Remove Seat Base Side
covers rst by pealing the
edge of the side section
away from the inner foam.
•Continue to pull cover away
and free from the foam.
•Pull Seat Base Cover off
the front of Seat Base by
starting at one side and
pulling edge of cover out.
•Unhook loops attaching
cover to seat base in the
back and elastic loops on
each side where the seat
base meets the seat back.
