Crystal:Controlsthefrequency(channelnumber)ofthetransmitter.Youcanchangecrystalsinboththetransmitterandthereceiver

Grip:TheGripismoldedinanergonomicshapeforincreasedcomfort,controlandfeel.
Power Indicator Lights:Indicatethecurrentstatusofthetransmitterbatteries.WhentheallthreePowerIndicatorLightsareilluminated
thebatterieshavesufcientcapacitytopowerthetransmittersafely.IfonlytheredandyellowPowerIndicatorLightsareilluminatedthe
batterieshaveonlylimitedcapacitytopowerthetransmitter.Inthiscase,thebatteriesshouldbereplacedassoonaspossible.Ifonly
theredPowerIndicatorLightisilluminated,thebatteriesaredepletedandshouldbereplaced(orrecharged,ifusingoptionalrechargeable
Ni-CdorNi-MHbatteries).DoNOTattempttousethetransmitterifonlytheredPowerIndicatorLightisilluminated.
Power Switch:Turnsthetransmitter'ON'and'OFF'.
Steering Channel Reversing Switch:Allowsyoutoelectronicallyswitchthedirectionofsteeringservotravel.Forexample,ifyou
movethesteeringwheeltotherightandthesteeringservomovestotheleft,iptheSteeringChannelReversingSwitchtomakethe
steeringservomovetotheleft.
Steering Dual Rate Dial:The Steering Dual Rate dialallowsyoutochangetheamountofsteeringservo travel compared to the
amountofphysicalmovementofthesteeringwheel.Forexample,byincreasingtheSteeringDualRate(movingthedialforward),you
canmakethesteeringservotravelmorewhichmightpreventyourmodelfrompushingduringturns.Ifyourmodeloversteersduring
turns,youcanreducetheamountofSteeringDualRate(movethedialbackward).
Steering EPA Knobs: TheSteeringEPA(EndPointAdjustment)Knobsareusedtoadjustthedesiredamountofsteeringservotravel
inbothdirectionsindependently.Thismakesitpossibletobalanceservotravelinbothdirectionsbyeitherincreasingordecreasing
servotravelineitherdirection.Oneknob(EPA-STLeft)increasesordecreasessteeringservotravelintheLeftdirectionandthesecond
knob(EPA-STRight)increasesordecreasessteeringservotravelintheRightdirection.
Steering Wheel:Proportionallyoperatesthemodel'srightandleftsteeringcontrol.The SteeringWheelfeaturesafoam gripfor
increasedcomfort,controlandfeel.
Steering Trim Knob:Usedtoadjustthecentertrimofthesteeringchannel.Turningtheknobforward(clockwise)increasessteering
triminonedirectionandturningtheknobbackward(counter-clockwise)increasessteeringtrimintheoppositedirection.Make
adjustmentswiththeSteeringTrimKnobtomakeyourmodeldriveinstraightlinewithoutanyinputfromthesteeringwheel.
Throttle Channel Reversing Switch:Allowsyoutoelectronicallyswitchthedirectionthatthemotoroperatesinrelationtothethrottle
trigger.Forexample,ifyoupullthethrottletriggertoaccelerateforward,butthemodelgoesinreverse,iptheThrottleChannelReversing
Switchtomakethemodelaccelerateforward.
Throttle EPA Knobs: The Throttle EPA (End PointAdjustment) Knobs are used toadjust thedesired amount ofthrottlein both
directionsindependently.ThismakesitpossibletoadjusttheamountofthrottleinboththeForwardandReversedirectionsbyeither
increasingordecreasingthrottleineitherdirection.Oneknob(EPA-THBackward)increasesordecreasesthrottleintheReversedirection
andthesecondknob(EPA-THForward)increasesordecreasesthrottleintheForwarddirection.
Throttle Trigger:Controlsthespeedofthemodel,bothforwardandbackward.Alsocontrolsthebrakingabilityofthemodel.When
youpullthethrottletriggerbacktowardyou,themodelacceleratesforward.Whenyoupushthethrottletriggerawayfromtheyou,the
modelbrakes.Whenyoureleasethethrottletriggermomentarily,thenpushitawayfromyouagain,themodelgoesinreverse.
Throttle Trim Knob:Usedtoadjustthecentertrimofthethrottlechannel.Turningtheknobforward(clockwise)increasesthrottletrim
inonedirectionandturningtheknobbackward(counter-clockwise)increasesthrottletrimintheoppositedirection.Makeadjustments

increasingthesteeringdualrate(movethedialforwardwithyourthumb),youcanmake
thesteering servotravel more whichmight prevent yourmodel from pushingduring
turns.Byreducingthesteeringdualrate(movethedialbackwardwithyourthumb)you
canmakethesteeringservotravellesswhichmightreducetheamountofturninthe
corners.Theamountthatyouincreaseordecreasethesteeringdualrateisproportional
withhowmuchyoumovethesteeringdualratedial.Adjustmentscanbemadewhile
you'redriving,soyoucanmakeadjustmentsduringarace,etc.

Using the Braking and Reverse Functions
q Asdescribedpreviously,whenyoupullthethrottletriggertowardyou,theTempest 4WD Brushless Stadium Truckwillaccelerate.
Toapplythebrakes,pushthethrottletriggerforward(awayfromyou),orifyoujustwanttoslowdownbycoasting,releasethe
throttletrigger.
Togointoreverse,theTempest 4WD Brushless Stadium Truckmustbestopped.Thishelpspreventdamagetothedrivetrainby
notallowingyoutoslamthemotorintoreverse.WhentheTempest 4WD Brushless Stadium Truckismovingforwardandyoupush

springtensiononthefrontleftshockthesameamount,etc.
ChassisalignmentandgeometryareimportantifyouwantyourTempest 4WD Brushless Stadium Trucktoperformwell.Followour
guidelinesinthissectiontogetthemostoutofyourTempest 4WD Brushless Stadium Truck.
Donotmakeanychangesthataremorethan3degreesfromtheinitialsettingsorthehandlingcharacteristicsofyour
Tempest 4WD Brushless Stadium Truckwillbecomeverypoor.
Thetoeangleistheangleofbothfronttires(orreartires)toeachother,whenviewedfromabove.'Toe-in'iswhenthefrontofbothtires

q Increaseordecreasespringtensionbysnappingdifferentpreloadspacersontothe
shockbodybetweenthetopoftheshockspringandthetopoftheshock.Usinga
tallerpreloadspacerincreasesspringtensionandthechassis'srideheight,andwill
stiffentheoveralldampingcharacteristicsofthesuspension.Usingashorterpreload
spacer(orno preloadspacer) decreasesspring tensionand makesthedamping
characteristicsofthesuspensionsofter.

q Removethetwo2.5x12mm RoundHeadscrews,two2.5mmlocknutsandtwoat
washersfromtheupperinnercamberlinks,thenremovethecamberlinksfromthe
shocktower.
q Reinstallthecamberlinksintoadifferentholeinthestocktower,makingsureto
installtheatwasherbetweenthecamberlinkandtheshocktower.Installationis
