l Thebatterypackshouldbedischargedbyrunningthemodeluntilitstops,thenrecharged.Thiswillensurethebatterypackisnot

If you change connectors on your battery pack and/or the ESC, make sure to observe correct polarity. This will ensure that when

polaritywilldamagetheESCandpossiblydamageyourbatterypack.

Battery Compartment:Housesthe8'AA'Alkalinebatteriesthatpowerthetransmitter.
Charging Jack:UsedforonboardchargingofoptionalNi-CdorNi-MHbatteries.
DonotattempttochargeAlkalinebatteries.OnlyNi-CdorNi-MHbatteries(availableseparately)shouldbechargedthroughthe
ChargingJack,usingonlytherecommendedtypeofcharger.Formoreinformation,seethebottomofthepreviouspage.
Crystal:Controlsthefrequency(channelnumber)ofthetransmitter.Youcanchangecrystalsinboththetransmitterandthereceiver
sothatyouandyourfriendscandriveatthesametime.Notworadiocontrolsystemsnearbycanbeoperatedonthesamechannel
numberatthesametimewithoutinterference.Thetransmitterandreceiveruse27MHzcrystalsets.
Grip:TheGripismoldedinanergonomicshapeforincreasedcomfort,controlandfeel.
Power Indicator Lights:Indicatethecurrentstatusofthetransmitterbatteries.WhentheallthreePowerIndicatorLightsareilluminated
thebatterieshavesufcientcapacitytopowerthetransmittersafely.IfonlytheredandyellowPowerIndicatorLightsareilluminatedthe
batterieshaveonlylimitedcapacitytopowerthetransmitter.Inthiscase,thebatteriesshouldbereplacedassoonaspossible.Ifonly
theredPowerIndicatorLightisilluminated,thebatteriesaredepletedandshouldbereplaced(orrecharged,ifusingoptionalrechargeable
Ni-CdorNi-MHbatteries).DoNOTattempttousethetransmitterifonlytheredPowerIndicatorLightisilluminated.
Power Switch:Turnsthetransmitter'ON'and'OFF'.
Steering Channel Reversing Switch:Allowsyoutoelectronicallyswitchthedirectionofsteeringservotravel.Forexample,ifyou
movethesteeringwheeltotherightandthesteeringservomovestotheleft,iptheSteeringChannelReversingSwitchtomakethe
steeringservomovetotheleft.
Steering Dual Rate Dial:The Steering Dual Rate dialallows youto change the amount ofsteering servo travel compared tothe
amountofphysicalmovementofthesteeringwheel.Forexample,byincreasingtheSteeringDualRate(movingthedialforward),you
canmakethesteeringservotravelmorewhichmightpreventyourmodelfrompushingduringturns.Ifyourmodeloversteersduring
turns,youcanreducetheamountofSteeringDualRate(movethedialbackward).
Steering EPA Knobs: TheSteeringEPA(EndPointAdjustment)Knobsareusedtoadjustthedesiredamountofsteeringservotravel
inbothdirectionsindependently.Thismakesitpossibletobalanceservotravelinbothdirectionsbyeitherincreasingordecreasing
servotravelineitherdirection.Oneknob(EPA-STLeft)increasesordecreasessteeringservotravelintheLeftdirectionandthesecond
knob(EPA-STRight)increasesordecreasessteeringservotravelintheRightdirection.
Steering Wheel:Proportionallyoperatesthemodel'srightandleftsteeringcontrol.TheSteeringWheelfeaturesafoamgripfor
increasedcomfort,controlandfeel.
Steering Trim Knob:Usedtoadjustthecentertrimofthesteeringchannel.Turningtheknobforward(clockwise)increasessteering
triminonedirectionandturningtheknobbackward(counter-clockwise)increasessteeringtrimintheoppositedirection.Make
adjustmentswiththeSteeringTrimKnobtomakeyourmodeldriveinstraightlinewithoutanyinputfromthesteeringwheel.
Throttle Channel Reversing Switch:Allowsyoutoelectronicallyswitchthedirectionthatthemotoroperatesinrelationtothethrottle
trigger.Forexample,ifyoupullthethrottletriggertoaccelerateforward,butthemodelgoesinreverse,iptheThrottleChannelReversing
Switchtomakethemodelaccelerateforward.
Throttle EPA Knobs: TheThrottleEPA(EndPointAdjustment)Knobsareusedtoadjustthedesiredamountofthrottleinboth
directionsindependently.ThismakesitpossibletoadjusttheamountofthrottleinboththeForwardandReversedirectionsbyeither
increasingordecreasingthrottleineitherdirection.Oneknob(EPA-THBackward)increasesordecreasesthrottleintheReversedirection
andthesecondknob(EPA-THForward)increasesordecreasesthrottleintheForwarddirection.
Throttle Trigger:Controlsthespeedofthemodel,bothforwardandbackward.Alsocontrolsthebrakingabilityofthemodel.When
youpullthethrottletriggerbacktowardyou,themodelacceleratesforward.Whenyoupushthethrottletriggerawayfromtheyou,the
modelbrakes.Whenyoureleasethethrottletriggermomentarily,thenpushitawayfromyouagain,themodelgoesinreverse.
Throttle Trim Knob:Usedtoadjustthecentertrimofthethrottlechannel.Turningtheknobforward(clockwise)increasesthrottletrim
inonedirectionandturningtheknobbackward(counter-clockwise)increasesthrottletrimintheoppositedirection.Makeadjustments
totheThrottleTrimKnobsothatthemodeldoesn'tmove(themotoris'OFF')whenthethrottletriggerisintheneutralposition.
Wrist Strap Anchor:Usedtoconnectanoptionalwriststrap(availableseparately)tothetransmitter.

EPA-STLeftknobcounter-clockwisedecreasesservotravelintheleft-handdirection

direction.TurningtheEPA-STRightknobcounter-clockwisedecreasesservotravelin

Donotmakeanychangesthataremorethan3degreesfromtheinitialsettingsorthehandlingcharacteristicsofyour
Vertex RTR 4WD Stadium Truckwillbecomeverypoor.
Thetoeangleistheangleofbothfronttires(orreartires)toeachother,whenviewedfromabove.'Toe-in'iswhenthefrontofbothtires
pointtowardeachotherand'toe-out'iswhenthefrontofbothtirespointawayfromeachother.
l Forthefronttires,toe-inwillmaketheVertex RTR 4WD Stadium Trucktrack(run)straighter,butthesteeringwillbemoresensitive.
Toe-outwilldesensitizethesteering,makingtheVertex RTR 4WD Stadium Truckalittlemoredriver-friendly.
l Toe-inonthereartiresisxedatapproximately2degrees.Thiswillgivetherearendalittlemore'bite'(traction).
Addingmorethan3degreesoftoe-inortoe-outonthefrontwillresultinexcessivelossofspeedanderratichandling.To e
adjustmentsshouldbemeasuredwiththeVertex RTR 4WD Stadium Truckatitsnormalrideheight.
l 1~2degreestoe-inonthefronttoprovidestabilityandincreasesteeringsensitivity.Toe-inonthereartiresisxedatapproximately
2degreesandisnotadjustable.

Vertex RTR 4WD Stadium Truck,localtrackconditionswilldictatethesettingstouse.

Adjusting Shock Spring Tension - Front and Rear
l Werecommendinitiallyusingthepreloadspacersthatarealreadyinstalledontheshocks.
q Increaseordecreasespringtensionbysnappingdifferentpreloadspacersontothe
shockbodybetweenthetopoftheshockspringandthetopoftheshock.Usinga
tallerpreloadspacerincreasesspringtensionandthechassis'srideheight,andwill
stiffentheoveralldampingcharacteristicsofthesuspension.Usingashorterpreload
spacer(ornopreloadspacer) decreasesspringtensionandmakes the damping
characteristicsofthesuspensionsofter.
Whenadjustingthespringtension,makesuretoadjusttherightandleftshocksequally.

traction.Lessdroopequalslessrollwhichequalslesstraction.Droopalsochangesweighttransfer.Experimentationwillbenecessary
toachievethedesiredresponse,dependantonyourtrackconditionsanddrivingstyle.
l Werecommendinitiallyleavingthedroopscrewsinthefactorysetting.
q Todecreasedroop,usea2.0mmhexwrenchtotighten(turnclockwise)thedroop
screwinthetopofeachlowersuspensionarm.Toincreasedroop,usea2.0mmhex
wrenchtoloosen(turncounter-clockwise)thedroopscrewinthetopofeachlower
suspensionarm.
q Removethetwo2.5x12mmRoundHeadscrewsandthetwoatwashersfromthe
upperinnercamberlinks,thenremovethecamberlinksfromtheshocktower.
q Reinstallthecamberlinksintoadifferentholeinthestocktower,eitherhigheror
lower.Installationisthereverseofremoval.

upperspringholderfromtheshockbody.
q Usingapairofplierswithapieceofclothtoprotecttheshockcap,carefullyloosen
(turncounter-clockwise)andremovetheshockcapfromtheshockbody.
q Pulltheshockshaftallthewaydown,thendraintheexistingoilfromtheshockbody.
Filltheshockbodywithshockoiluntiltheoillevelisjustbelowthetopoftheshock
body,then pumptheshock shaftupand down severaltimes to dissipateany air
bubblesfromtheshockoil.To p offtheshockoillevelifnecessary,beforereinstalling
theshockcap.Tighten the shock cap rmly.
q Reinstalltheshockspringandspringholders,thenreinstalltheshockontothelowersuspensionarmandtheshocktower.Installation
isthereverseofremoval.
