is the intellectual property of Hofmann Mess- und Auswuchttechnik
GmbH & Co. KG.
All rights to the Vibration testing and balancing device, the meas-
uring principle, associated drawings etc. are owned by the man-
ufacturer and are subject to the German Copyright and Related
Rights Act of 9 September 1965, as amended.
In accordance with copyright law, competition law and the German
Civil Code (BGB), reproduction is only permissible with prior writ-
ten consent.
The documents may not be passed on to unauthorised third par-
ties for viewing.

Do not dispose of the device and rechargeable batteries in
the regular trash. Use existing systems for separate collection of
devices and batteries / rechargeable batteries or send the device

2Safety information
INFORMATION
The instructions in the operating manual are by no means exhaustive.
The device is built using state-of-the-art technology according to
recognised safety rules, and is safe to operate.
2.1 Operating the device on machines
However, using the device on machines can be dangerous if it
is operated by personnel who are not trained or instructed, or if
it is used incorrectly or not as intended.
These hazards include:
Danger to life and limb of the user or third parties
Damage to the device and other property of the operator

Only operate machinery on which the device is to
be used when all guards are in place and func-
tional.

Do not stand in the possible range of trajectory of
the test weights.
Otherwise there is a significant risk of injury.

Risk of entanglement or entrapment
Arrange cables between the machine and device
so that they cannot be drawn in or entangled.

2.1.1 Requirements for personnel
Personnel operating powered equipment must take care not to
endanger themselves or others through dangerous movements.
The company may allow powered, hazardous equipment in which
the device is used to be operated by persons who are authorised
for such work, and
Who can perform the work safely on their own or
Who have received prior instruction and are supervised by
person familiar with the task

The machine on which the device is to be used
may pose hazards if it is operated inappropriately
or not kept in proper condition.
The operating company may only operate the ma-
chine if it is in perfect condition. Hazards that
arise between the device and customer equip-
ment must be secured by the operating company.

out by persons who are authorised to do that
work on the basis of their training and qualifica-
tions. These persons must also have the authori-
sation of the operating company.

2.3 Duties of the operating company
INFORMATION
Due to various safety laws, the operating company is required to
prepare instructions for the staff and to ensure safe operation of
the device.
National safety laws may partially differ from country to country.
The operating company must consult the safety laws of the coun-
try of operation. In Germany, for example:
Trade Regulations Act, article 120a, paragraphs 1 and 4
Accident prevention regulations “General regulations” /
“Power-driven equipment”
2.3.1 Duty of information
Before starting work, personnel commissioned to perform
tasks with the device must have read and understood the
operating manual, especially the “Safety precautions”
chapter, along with the applicable regulations.
Keep the operating manual and applicable regulations so
that they are available to the operating and maintenance
personnel.
In addition to the operating manual, ensure compliance
with laws and other binding regulations on accident preven-
tion and environmental protection.
2.4 Duties of the operator
Read and the operating manual before commissioning or
operating, and observe the instructions.
Obey occupational safety, employers’ liability insurance as-
sociation and accident prevention regulations, in particular
regulations on protective equipment.

2.5 Warranty and liability
The warranty and liability is based on the contractually agreed terms.
INFORMATION
Damage caused by improper operation or operator error is not
covered by the warranty obligations of the manufacturer.
The risk is borne solely by the user.
INFORMATION
Changes made to the device without the knowledge or approval
of the manufacturer invalidate any liability claims and warranty
entitlements.
2.6 Replacement parts
Replacement parts must meet the technical requirements speci-
fied by the manufacturer. This is always guaranteed with by using
genuine spare parts.
2.7 Cleaning agents
For normal soiling Use commercially available non-flammable cleaning agents.
To clean the display Use special cleaning agents for monitors and soft cloths or spec-
tacle cleaning cloths.

3Vibration testing and balancing device
3.1 Scope of delivery
Checking for completeness Check that the entire shipment is complete according to
the enclosed delivery note and order confirmation.

Reporting damage After delivery, immediately notify the shipper and manufac-

3.2 Storage and preservation
To keep an unused Vibration testing and balancing device func-
tional over an extended period, several points must be observed:
Store the device in the carrying case so that no dirt and dust
can get into it.
The storage area must be dry and clean.
Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures
(cold < -10 °C or heat >+ 50 °C).
3.2.1 Note regarding liability
We provide no guarantee for corrosion damage caused by inap-
propriate storage.
3.3 Purpose
The EasyBalancer EB 3500 Vibration testing and balancing de-
vice is designed for measuring and analysing mechanical vibra-
tions and for operational balancing in industrial environments.
In particular, the following tasks can be carried out with the
EasyBalancer EB 3500:
Operational balancing of grinding wheels and spindles
Detection of vibrations in bearing and machine housings
Assessment of machine and system condition
Measurement of overall vibration
Measurement of unbalance vibration
Measurement of speed
Measurement of the roller bearing condition
