NB
READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE EQUIPMENT.
Important safety aspects to take into consideration
• Make sure that the tractor/loader can carry the equivalent tool type and weight.
• Make sure that for this sweeper the carrier has a suitable hydraulic oil flow.
• Make sure that no unauthorised persons are loitering in the machine’s working area when working
with the machine or carrying out servicing.
• Always use the dust covers for the quick-couplings when the machine is disconnected, to prevent
dirt getting into the hydraulic system.
Safety
This instruction manual is intended to be used as a guide for the correct use and maintenance of the
machine. Study the manual carefully before starting and operating the machine and before any
preventive maintenance is carried out. A lot of time has been spent on designing and manufacturing
the machine so that it will be as efficient and safe as possible, all of which will be of little use if you
do not read, understand and follow the instructions. Familiarise yourself with the product and all the
instructions, and keep the instruction manual safe so that it is always readily at hand when using the
machine.
NB
THIS MANUAL HAS BEEN PREPARED FOR ALL OUR MARKETS AND MAY THEREFORE INCLUDE DIFFERENT
EQUIPMENT FOR SPECIFIC MARKETS. PLEASE IGNORE THE SECTIONS THAT DO NOT APPLY TO YOUR
MACHINE.
We continuously strive to improve our products and therefore reserve the right to change design
specifications and implement improvements whenever we consider this necessary; however, such
improvements will not be made to products that have already been delivered or put to work. We also
reserve the right to change data and equipment without prior notice, as well as instructions for
maintenance and other service procedures.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that:
Please pay special attention to the warning symbols.
Make sure you tighten the screw joint reinforcement.
The machine is not used or handled incorrectly.
That any warning labels on the machine are legible.
Unauthorised persons do not use the machine or remain within the machine’s
working area during its operation or maintenance.

Product description
The Holms PD Snowplough Blade is a diagonal plough
designed for tractors and loaders. The carrier needs to be
equipped with a double-acting hydraulic function.
Standard model
The plough has a turning blade secured centrally.
Dimensions, weight and other data are given in the table
“Product data” on page 9. The plough has a pendulation
functionacross thedirectionoftravelsothat itcanfollow
the incline of the surface. Standard equipment includes
adjustable support plates, shock valves, individual
spring-mounted runners and hydraulic banking. The
runners are reversible and are fitted with bolts. There is
a hook attachment for the usual range of hooks.
Extra accessories
• Floatarm – for pendulation even along the direction
of travel (double pendulation) and for adjustment of
ground pressure on the move.
• Attachment with parallelogram for carriers without
a lifting function, DIN plate or Norsk
kommunalplatta.
• Rubber runner – thickness approx. 55 mm.
• Hydraulic hoses with quick couplings – included as
standard in a number of variants.
• Parking light – included as standard in a number of
variants.
• Runners fitted with cotter bolts.

Transport and storage
Always remember the following when transporting or
storing the machine:
Transport
Lift the machine using one or more of the marked lifting
points. Lift carefully and check your balance.
Storage
When stored, the machine must rest stably, using the
support plates, for example. Protect the hydraulic
couplings against dirt using the accompanying plastic
plugs and place the quick couplings in the casings on the
machine in order to avoid damage to the hoses.
Risk of crushing. The plough blade can swing.

Operating instructions
Connection to carrier
1. Connect the snowplough to the carrier's machine
attachment – seethe instruction manual for the carrier.
2. Connect the drive hoses to the 3rd hydraulic function
outlet.
Setting Holms PD with single pendulation
1. Lift the plough.
2. Carefully lower the plough to the ground and ensure
that the runner is at a 90° angle to the ground. See
picture 5. Use the height and tilt functions.
3. For shorter transport journeys, use the tilt function to
lift the plough so it is easy to return quickly to the
correct plough setting.
4. NB! The loader arms must not be in the float position
when using Holms PD.
Setting Holms PD with double pendulation/
Floatarm
1. Lift the plough.
2. Carefully lower the plough to the ground and ensure
that the runner is at a 90° angle to the ground. See
picture 5. Use the height and tilt functions.
3. Adjust the ground pressure using the tilt indicators on
the Floatarm. When the indicators are exactly lined
up, the ground pressure is set to normal.
4. During operation, you can easily increase the ground
pressure by tilting forwards and reduce the ground
pressure by tilting backwards.
Check that the machine is secured to the carrier.
It is extremely important that the hydraulic
couplings be cleaned before connection, to avoid
operating problems caused by dirty hydraulic oil.
Checkbefore commissioningthatthe ploughblade
does not touch the carrier's wheels in any position.

5. For shorter transport journeys, use the tilt function to
lift the plough so it is easy to return quickly to the
correct plough setting.
6. NB! The loader arms must not be in the float position
when using Holms PD.
Setting Holms PD with parallelogram
attachment (plough with fixed stay)
1. Position the carrier for coupling with the machine.
2. Connect the lifting cylinder hydraulic hoses to the
carrier's hydraulic outlets.
3. Lift the machine attachment and connect it to the
carrier attachment.
4. Carefully lower the plough to the ground and ensure
that the runner is at a 90° angle to the ground. See
picture 7.
5. The ground pressure can be adjusted by shortening
(reduces ground pressure) or extending the rigging
screws (increases ground pressure).
Checkbefore commissioningthatthe ploughblade
does not touch the carrier's wheels in any position.

Snøstopper
Snøstopperen drives av en dobbeltvirkende hydraulikk-
funksjon. Den kan ikke brukes sammen med støttehjul.
Montering
Funksjon
Styr snøstopperen ved å aktivere hydraulikken.

Service and maintenance
Every time the blade has been used it should be checked
for wear on the runners and bushings.
The lubrication points should be greased at least once
a week during the season. See illustration 12.
Once every season, preferably at the end of the winter
season,a morethorough inspection shouldalso becarried
out of the hoses, hydraulic valves and cylinders.
Check to see if there is any wear or oil leakage. Check
also the welded body to make sure there are no cracks.
At the end of the season, before the machine is put into
storage, the cylinder piston rods must be greased or
treated with other corrosion-preventing agent to avoid
surface rust.
