Use and care of the Apollo Whistling Kettle
Before rst use:
Hand wash the kettle with warm, soapy water. Rinse well and dry the exterior.
Kettle use & care:
•Always use the burner that most closely matches the base of the kettle. Do not use
a burner larger than the diameter of the kettle base.
• Remove lid and ll the kettle with clean water. The kettle should be at least half full
but never lled beyond the MAX water level indicated.
ºThis indicator is just below the level of the kettle spout.
• Replace the lid and ensure it is properly secured to cover the hole at the top
of the kettle.
• Kettle should be used on medium to medium-high heat only.
• Kettle will whistle once water has boiled. Turn o heat, remove the kettle from the
burner and wait 10 seconds before using.
• Pour water away from the body at a low angle to avoid splashing which could
cause burns.
• Allow kettle to cool at room temperature before relling.
• To prevent warping, make sure your kettle is cool before adding cold water.
Once warped, the kettle is no longer safe to use.
Descaling your kettle:
Descale/ush the the kettle on a monthly basis to thoroughly clean the interior, improve
the longevity and maintain the energy eciency.
1. First, ll the kettle to the MAX level with 1-part white vinegar and 2 parts water.
2. Bring to the boil and continue boiling for 5 minutes.
3. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool overnight.
4. Dispose of the liquid.
5. Fill the kettle with clean water to the MAX level and bring to the boil again.
6. Carefully dispose of this boiled water, rinsing away any remaining scale and
vinegar residue.
7. Once the inside has been rinsed with clean water, it is ready to use.
NB: Failure to descale/ush the kettle as recommended above or by using
a recognised descaling product will automatically void the warranty.
• Always hand wash the kettle – it is not dishwasher safe.
• Gently bu any marks with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. Do not use steel wool
or sharp implements.
• WARNING: Never leave kettle unattended to boil dry. An unattended, empty kettle
may get extremely hot, which can cause personal injury or damage property.
• Kettle handle may get hot – always take care to use a potholder or oven mittens
when moving it o a hot burner.
• Kettle should be lifted up and o the burner to avoid scratches forming on kettle or
causing damage to ceramic or glass stovetops.
