1. Positioning
To manoeuvre the changing table, release the castor brake on each of the four castors.
Once the changing table is located in the position required, press the red levers on each
castor to engage the brake. The castor brakes must be engaged prior to treating or
positioning a client.
Attention: The castors should only be used for positioning the changing table in the working
area or for moving the changing table for housekeeping duties. Under no circumstances
should anyone sit or lie on the changing table when the castor brakes are not engaged.
2. Height Adjustment
2.1 Electric Model
To adjust the height of an electric model, press the rocker switch on the handset for the
direction required as indicated. Note: Excessive operation may result in the electric motor’s
internal protective thermal cutout operating. In this case, do not attempt to operate the
changing table further and allow the motor to cool. The thermal cutout will reset automatically.
Caution: We recommend the use of a RCD and that the mains cable be placed under
a protective cover if it crosses the floor to prevent tripping or snagging that may cause
personal injury or damage to the motor and cable. When not in use, we recommend that
the electricity supply be switched off at the mains supply socket and the plug removed from
the socket.
2.2 Hydraulic Model
To adjust the height of a hydraulic model, press and release the foot pedal at the side of
the changing table (see fig. 1). Note: further pressing when the pump is at its maximum will
neither cause any height increase nor damage the pump. To lower the changing table, lift the
foot pedal, which will release the hydraulic pump. The changing table will lower until the pedal
is released or until the changing table reaches its lowest height.

3. Cot Sides
To adjust the height of the cot sides, pull the sprung ball knob out and gently lift or lower the
cot sides to the required height. The pin will spring back into the chosen hole. Repeat this
process at the other end of the cot side. To return the cot side to the table level, pull the
sprung ball knob and gently apply pressure downwards. The pins will spring into the cot side
holes as they pass, pull them out and again apply pressure downwards until the cot side
reaches its stop.

5. Cleaning
Warm mild soapy water is sufficient to remove most daily soiling from the vinyl covering of
the changing table. For heavily soiled areas use white spirit on a cloth or sponge, followed
by mild soapy water and finish with a clean dry cloth. Note: cleaning products containing
abrasives, solvents or bleaching agents should not be used to clean the vinyl covering of
the changing table.
The stoved epoxy paintwork of the main metal framework of the changing table can be
cleaned with mild soapy water using a damp cloth or sponge and finished with a clean,
dry polishing cloth.
Precaution: Certain make-up products, felt tip pens, ball point pen ink, printing inks, shoe
polish and some drinks and foodstuffs are likely to cause permanent marking or staining on
the vinyl covering. Oil based products may eventually cause the covering to crack. Direct
contact between these items and the vinyl should be avoided. We recommend the use of
paper towelling, which can be discarded after use, or stretch towelling covers that can be
removed for washing (available separately, please see our main catalogue). Immediate attention
as described above may reduce the severity of a mark or stain caused by these products.

6. Maintenance
Routine servicing should be carried out every year. Attention should be given to the
following points:
a) Correct operation, support, and locking efficiency over the range of movement
of the gas strut(s).
b) The secure fixings of the upholstery sections.
c) Undue movement of the hydraulic pump (if fitted), oil leakage, security of the pedals onto
the pump shaft.
d) Security of the electric actuator (if fitted) and the condition of the mains supply cable, e.g.
for cuts or signs of being squashed. Carry out electrical safety checks as required for
Class II equipment.
e) Nuts and bolts of the pivot points should be checked for tightness to the factory
setting of 2m/kg (15ft/lbs) torque.
f) Apply a spot of light oil to each pivot point, if required, wiping away any surplus.
