REMOVING XFL5xx I/O MODULES FROM XSL513/XSL514
TERMINAL BLOCKS
1. Disconnect the power from the XSL513/XSL514 ter-
minal blocks.
2. Unlock the safety latch(es) by moving the slider to the
right on the terminal blocks as shown in the following
figure.
3. Make a note of the XFL5xx I/O module type and the
location.
4. Remove the electronics module from the terminal
block (or manual terminal disconnect module) by
pushing a screwdriver between the electronics mod-
ule and the spring clip on the terminal block (or man-
ual terminal disconnect module).
5. Unlock the spring clip by lightly bending upwards
with the screwdriver.
6. Open the plastic cover on the XFL5xx I/O module and
make a note of the module address which is set on
the rotary switch if applicable.
7. Remove all safety latches present at the top of the
terminal blocks in the following sequence:
a. Rotate the safety latch in anti-clockwise direction
as shown in step ‘a’ and ‘b’.

c. Remove the safety latch.

Electrical Shock Hazard.
Can cause severe injury, death or
property damage.
Disconnect the power supply before beginning
installation to prevent electrical shock and
equipment damage. More than one power supply
may have to be disconnected.
When Installing This Product…
1. Read these instructions carefully. Failure to follow
them could damage the product or cause a hazard-
ous condition.
2. Check the ratings given in the instructions and
marked on the product to make sure the product is
suitable for your application.
3. Installer must be a trained, experienced service
technician.
4. After installation is complete, check out the product
operation as provided in these instructions.
5. Be sure wiring complies with all applicable codes,
ordinances and regulations.

IMPORTANT NOTES
• Before starting the migration, refer to the notes (See step 3 of the “Removing XFL5xx I/O Modules from
XSL513/XSL514 terminal blocks” section on page 2) that indicate the location of each type of XFL5xx I/O module.
Select the precise XFL5 Hardware Migration Adapter and XF8xx/XFR8xx I/O module as described in Fig.1 and
Table 1.

• Migrating the XFL5xx LON I/O modules require additional space as after installing the XFL5 Hardware Migration
Adapter and XF8xx/XFR8xx Panel Bus I/O module, the height and width increases by 29mm and 15mm respec-
tively.
ALL DIMENSIONS ARE IN MM
1. Refer to the notes (See step 6 of the “Removing
XFL5xx I/O Modules from XSL513/XSL514 terminal
blocks” section on page 2) for the module address of
the XFL5xx I/O module and adjust the rotary dial on
the XFL5 Hardware Migration Adapter to set the
address.
2. Install the new safety latches between each terminal
block as shown in the following figure.

3. Insert the XFL5 Hardware Migration Adapter on the
XSL513/XSL514 terminal block as shown in the fol-
lowing figure. Make sure that the XFL5 Hardware
Migration Adapter is positioned correctly and apply
firm pressure.
4. Lock the safety latch by moving the slider to the left
on the XSL513/XSL514 terminal block as shown in
Fig. 2 - Type A Safety Latch. If the XSL512 Manual
Terminal Disconnect Module is installed, it is recom-
mended that you use a screwdriver or similar for
locking as shown in Fig 3 - Type B Safety Latch.

5. Insert the XF8xx/XFR8xx I/O module on the XFL5
Hardware Migration Adapter.
6. Make sure that the T-shape of the XF8xx/XFR8xx
I/O module is aligned with T-slot of the XFL5 Hard-
ware Migration Adapter. This confirms that the
XF8xx/XFR8xx I/O module has connected firmly
with the XFL5 Hardware Migration Adapter.
