CAUTION: EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
HAZARD. Do not operate ooling
system when outdoor temperature
is below 50°F (10°C).

Fan swit h
Set FAN swit h to hoose whether the fan
runs ontinuously or only as needed.
Set the FAN sw it h to Auto or On.
In “Auto ” m ode (the m ost om m only used
setting), the fan runs only w hen the heat
ing or ooling system is on.
If set to “O n,” the fan runs ontinuously.
Use this setting for im proved air ir ula
tion, or for more effi ient air leaning.

is displayed in the upper right portion of
the s reen.
Note: M ake sure the SYSTEM swit h is set
to the system you w ant to ontrol (H eat or
Cool).

Built-in ompressor prote tion
time has elapsed.
This feature helps prevent d am age to the
om pressor in your air onditioning or heat
pump system .
Dam age an o ur if the om pressor is
restarted too soon after shutdow n. This fea
ture for es the om pressor to w ait for a few
minutes before restarting.
During the w ait tim e, the display will flash the
m essage Cool On or Heat O n. W hen the safe
w ait tim e has elapsed, the m essage stops
flashing and the om pressor turns on.

Batteries are optional if your ther
m ostat w as wired for A C pow er
when installed. Install fresh batteries
im m ediately when the REPLACE BATT
warning begins flashing.
Even if the warning does not
appear, you should repla e batteries
on e a year, or before leaving home
for more than a m onth.
Batteries provide ba kup pow er
to the display during pow er inter
ruptions. All settings are perm a
nently stored in memory, and do not
require battery power.

If you have diffi ulty with your therm ostat, please try the following suggestions.
M ost problem s an be orre ted qui kly and easily.
Display is blank
Heating or
ooling system
does not respond
Che k ir uit breaker and reset if ne essary.
Make sure power swit h at heating & ooling system is on.
Make sure furna e door is losed se urely.
Make sure fresh AA alkaline batteries are orre tly installed (see page 9).
Set system swit h to Heat (see page 5). Make sure the temperature is
set higher than the Inside temperature.
Set system swit h to Cool (see page 5). Make sure the temperature is
set lower than the Inside temperature.
Che k ir uit breaker and reset if ne essary.
Make sure power swit h at heating & ooling system is on.
Make sure furna e door is losed se urely.
Wait 5 minutes for the system to respond.

Make sure heating and ooling temperatures are set to a eptable ranges:
• Heat: 40° to 90°F (4.5° to 32°C).
• Cool: 50° to 99°F (10° to 37°C).
“Cool On” or

1-year limited warranty
Honeywell warrants this produ t, ex luding battery, to be free from defe ts in the workmanship or materials, under normal use
and servi e, for a period of one (1) year from the date of pur hase by the onsumer. If at any time during the warranty period the
produ t is determined to be defe tive or malfun tions, Honeywell shall repair or repla e it (at Honeywell’s option).
If the produ t is defe tive,
(i) return it, with a bill of sale or other dated proof of pur hase, to the pla e from whi h you pur hased it; or
(ii) all Honeywell Customer Care at 1-800-468-1502. Customer Care will make the determination whether the produ t should be
returned to the following address: Honeywell Return Goods, Do k 4 MN10-3860, 1885 Douglas Dr. N., Golden Valley, MN 55422,
or whether a repla ement produ t an be sent to you.
This warranty does not over removal or reinstallation osts. This warranty shall not apply if it is shown by Honeywell that the
defe t or malfun tion was aused by damage whi h o urred while the produ t was in the possession of a onsumer.
Honeywell’s sole responsibility shall be to repair or repla e the produ t within the terms stated above. HONEYWELL SHALL
NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
RESULTING, DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, FROM ANY BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, OR ANY OTHER
FAILURE OF THIS PRODUCT. Some states do not allow the ex lusion or limitation of in idental or onsequential damages, so
