Usethisfeatureinclimateswherebothairconditioningandheatingareusedonthe
sameday.WhenthesystemmodeisinAuto,thethermostatautomaticallyselects
heatingorcoolingdependingontheindoortemperature.
WhileintheAutomode,ifa scheduleoverridetakesplace(temporarilyorperma-
nently)thethermostatwillautomaticallyadjustthecoolingandheatingsettingsto
maintaina 3-degreeseparationbetweenthecoolandheatsettings.
Forexample,iftheheattemperatureisraisedtowhereitgetswithin3-dgreesofthe
coolsetting,thedisplaywillshowanuparrownextto "cool" toshowthethermostat
israisingthecoolsettinguptomaintaina 3-dgreeeseparation.
Thedisplaywillalsoshowboth"Auto"andeither"Heat"or"Cool"forwhichtempera-
turesettingyouarecurrentlyadjusting.Pressthesystembuttontoselectbetween
theheatandcooltoview/adjusteithermode.

SmartResponseTechnology:Thisfeatureallowsthethermostatto"learn"howlongthe
furnaceandairconditionertaketoreachprogrammedtemperaturesettings,sothetemperature
isreachedatthetimeyouset.Forexample:SettheWaketimeto6 am,andthetemperatureto
70°. Theheatwillcomeonbefore6 am,sothetemperatureis70°bythetimeyouwakeat6.The
message"Recovery"isdisplayedwhenthesystemisactivatedbeforea scheduledtimeperiod.
CompressorProtection:Thisfeatureforcesthecompressortowaita fewminutesbefore
restarting, topreventequipmentdamage.Duringthewaittime,themessage"Wait"isdisplayed
onscreen.
AutoChangeover:Thisfeatureisusedinclimateswherebothairconditioningandheatingare
usedonthesameday.WhenthesystemissettoAuto,thethermostatautomaticallyselects
heatingorcoolingdependingontheindoortemperature.Heatandcoolsettingsmustbeat
least3 degreesapart.Thethermostatwillautomaticallyadjustsettingstomaintainthis3-degree
separation.
