When servicing of double-insulated appliances note that in a double-insulated appliance, two
systems of insulation are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is provided on a
double-insulated appliance, nor should a means for grounding be added to the appliance.
Servicing a double-insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge of the system,
and should be done only be qualified service personnel. Replacement parts for a double-
insulated appliance must be identical to the parts they replace.
! WARNING: Inadequate extension cords can be dangerous.
When using where an extension cord is necessary, a 2-conductor grounding cord must be used
for safety as well as cord and plug must be of watertight construction. This will also prevent
overheating and a loss of power. Do not use any AWG smaller than 16ga. Use AWG 14 ga for
25-50ft. and 12 ga for 50+ft.
Before using appliance, inspect power cord for loose or exposed wires and damaged insulation.
Make any needed repairs or replacements before using your appliance.
Inadequate extension cords can be dangerous!
NOTE: STATIC SHOCKS ARE COMMON IN DRY AREAS OR WHEN THE RELATIVE
HUMIDITY OF AIR IS LOW. THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY AND DOES NOT AFFECT THE
USE. TO REDUCE THE FREQUENCY OF STATIC SHOCKS IN YOUR HOME, THE BEST
REMEDY IS TO ADD MOISTURE TO THE AIR WITH A CONSOLE OR INSTALLED
HUMIDIFIER.
