Congratulations on the purchase of your new HOOVER steam mop. There are many useful
features built into your cleaner and we recommend that you carefully read this instruction manual
so that you may take best advantage of them.

Before you Begin
This cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions and used only for domestic
household cleaning. This cleaner is not fit to be used as an industrial cleaner hence will void the
manufacturer’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Please read these instructions thoroughly
This will ensure you obtain full benefit from your new cleaner. Keep this Instruction Manual in a handy
place for future reference.
Important
Always switch the cleaner off and remove the plug from the electricity supply before cleaning your
appliance, when not in use, or attempting any maintenance task. The cleaner must only be connected to
an AC supply at the voltage shown on the rating plate. This cleaner should only be used for its intended
purpose as described in these instructions.

1. This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure that
they do not play with the appliance.
3. To prevent electrical shock, do not immerse the
appliance, power cord or power plug into water
or other liquids.
4. Always check the power cord before use, the
power cord and the plug should be in a good
condition and must not be damaged. If the
power supply cord is damaged or defective,
it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
5. Do not unplug by pulling on the power cord.
To unplug, grasp the plug not the power cord.
Do not use extension cords or outlets with
inadequate current carrying capacity.
6. Do not handle or operate the appliance with wet
hands and follow electrical safety precautions at
all times, i.e., never operate without shoes.
7. Do not aim steam directly at person, animal and
parts that containing electrical components,
electronic components, such as the electrical
components inside an oven.
8. The force and heat of the steam may damage
certain materials. Some fabrics may react to
the temperature of the steam.
9. Do not hold the steam in the direction of one
spot for long periods! This can cause damage
to materials!
10. Never overfill the tank / boiler. Overfilling
may result in a possible electrical shock,
emission of boiling water; scalding and
steam generation may be affected.
11. Do not clean over floor electrical outlets.
12. Exposure to hot steam can
cause scalding!
13. Extreme caution should be exercised
when using the appliance to clear stairs.
14. Burns can occur from touching
hot parts, hot water or steam. Use
caution when draining the appliance
after use as there may be hot water
in the appliance.
15. Do not attempt to change the
attachments while the appliance
is emitting steam. Change the
attachments only when the
attachment cool down.
16. Use only manufacturer’s
recommended accessories.
17. Do not leave the appliance
unattended when it is
connected to a power
supply or an electrical outlet.
Safety Precautions & Warnings
IMPORTANT! The power and the heat of the steam may have adverse consequences
for certain materials. Always check before putting the appliance into operation,
whether the surface or material is actually suitable for treatment with steam. Do this
by executing a test on a hidden surface of the material you wish to treat.

19. Ensure that the appliance does not operate on
an empty tank.
20. Do not apply steam directly to very cold
glass surfaces.
21. Do not use without water tank cap in place.
Check that the water tank cap is completely
screwed down before use.
22. Only water should be used in this appliance. Use
distilled/purified water if the tap water in the water
in your area is very hard.
23. Damage caused by improper use of steam on
objects, materials, persons or animals or by not
observing the instructions in this manual will
void warranty.
24. Always store the appliance indoors in a cool and
dry place.
25. For appliances without solution tank, do not add
cleaning solutions, scented perfumes oils or any
other chemicals to the appliance, as cleaning
agents may damage the appliance or make it
unsafe for use.
26. Do not touch any hot areas on the steam
cleaner. It is normal for the steam cleaner to heat
up during operation.
Grounding instructions
This appliance must be grounded. If it should
malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a
path of least resistance for the electric current to flow,
this will reduce and prevent the risk of electric shock.
This appliance is equipped with a cord having an
equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug.
The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet
that is properly installed and grounded in accordance
with all local codes and ordinances.

DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment-
grounding conductor can result in a risk of electrical
shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service
person if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is
grounded. If not, have a proper outlet installed by a
qualified electrician.
This appliance is for use on nominal 220-240 volt
circuit. It has a grounding plug similar to the example
shown. Make sure the appliance is connected to an
outlet with the same configuration as the plug. No
adapter should be used with this appliance.

WARNING! Always remove the plug from the power socket before assembly.
Attaching the Mop Pad
Set the mop pad on the floor with microfibre side
facing down. Align the self adhesive strips on the mop
pad with the steam mop head. Place unit on top of
mop pad and apply pressure to assure hold.
Attaching the Handle
1. Attach steam mop body to steam mop head.
Press firmly until you hear a click sound.
Note: install the mop pad before use to prevent
scratches to the floor.
2. Insert handle into main body. Press firmly
until you hear a click sound.

Instructions for Use
1. Remove the water tank by pressing the water tank
release lock.
2. Twist the cap counter clockwise to remove.
3. Fill the water tank with filtered or distilled water. Do
not overfill the tank. Replace the water cap and twist
clockwise until tightly secure.
4. Slide the clean water tank down and snap into place.
WARNING! Do not plug the steam mop into an electrical outlet during assembly.
WARNING! Do not use hot or boiling water to fill clean water tank.
WARNING! Do not add any cleaning solution, detergent, vinegar or bleach into
the water tank. This will cause damage to the filter and the internal components
of the steam mop.
WARNING: On surfaces that have been treated with wax,
the wax may be removed by the heat and steam action.
Do not use on unsealed wood floors or let unit stand
on any wood floor for an extended period of time. This
may cause the wood grain to rise. It is recommended
that a section be tested in an isolated area of the floor.
It is also recommended that you check the use and care
instructions for cleaning from the floor manufacturer to
ensure steam cleaning is acceptable for your floor.

2. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the steam mop on. The ON/OFF
button indicator light will light, once steam appears, the steam mop
is ready to use. Slowly pass over surface to be cleaned.
3. Press the ON/OFF button again and steam mop will
stop working.
NOTE: To prevent shortening the service life, pull the plug
immediately after cleaning, otherwise the heating unit will
stay in working condition.
NOTE: Put the steam mop in an upright position against the wall. A protective pad should
be placed under the steam mop head to prevent scratches to the floor.
NOTE: After cleaning, discard the remaining water from the water tank.
4. To use the steam, repeat the above procedures.
5. Remove mop pad and follow “How to Clean” instructions in Mop Pad section to
avoid mold and mildew. Be sure to empty the water tank.
6. Wipe the steam mop with a soft cloth when/if necessary.
NOTE: Wait 20 minutes for the mop pad to cool off before removing it to avoid
scalding by the remaining steam and staining the floor surface.
WARNING! Do not use the steam mop without water in the tank.
1. Twist the quick release cable wrap clockwise to un-wrap the power cable completely. Hang the
power cable on the cord hook for better use of the steam mop when moving and cleaning.
NOTE: It is recommended that another high wattage appliance is not operated on the same
circuit to avoid a circuit overload.
NOTE: When the steam injection occurs, keep the steam mop in motion to prevent damaging the
floor surface.

After Steam Mop Use
After using the steam mop and to avoid damage to your floors, put the steam mop in an upright position
against the wall, unplug and place the steam mop on a protective cooling pad until the unit cools down. Once
steam mop is cooled, remove mop pad and follow “How to Clean” instructions in Mop Pad section to avoid
mold and mildew. Be sure to empty the water tank.
NOTE: The protective cooling pad is not included.
NOTE: Do no leave the steam mop unattended when it is placed in an upright position against
the wall.
NOTE: It is not recommended to operate the machine in high gear mode in winter due to the low
temperature and condensate water, which will produce a great amount of steam and leave the
floor wetted.
NOTE: Low gear mode produces less steam with high steam temperature and shows good effect
of sterilization.
NOTE: To prevent any blockage with water scale and to extend the steam mop service life, it is
recommended to add filtered water or distilled water for cleaning purposes.
NOTE: Do not use the steam mop on the carpet. Use the steam mop on the hard floor only.
NOTE: Wait approximately 10-30 seconds for the mop to heat and be ready for use.
CAUTION: The steam mop pad may be very hot after use.

IMPORTANT! Allow the steam mop to fully cool down before performing any
maintenance or troubleshooting checks.
1. Remove the water tank located
on the rear of the steam mop.
2. Twist the cap counter-clockwise
to remove.
3. Empty any excess water into
the sink, allow to air dry and
replace water cap and return
to the steam mop.
Mop Pad
IMPORTANT! Allow the steam mop to fully cool down before performing any
maintenance or troubleshooting checks. Never use bleach or fabric softener
when washing the pad.
How to Remove
1. Step on exposed tab located on back of
microfibre pad. Lift steam mop away from
microfibre pad to remove.
How to Clean
1. Machine washable on “HOT” setting. Always use a detergent. Do not use bleach
or fabric softener.
2. For best care results, lay flat to dry. Allow to dry fully before use.

Storage
Descaler
IMPORTANT! Tap water contains minerals that can build up in your steam mop
therefore regular use of the descaling solution will remove this build up and restore
the efficiency of your steam mop. We recommend that the descaling solution is used
every 3 months to enhance the optimum performance of your steam mop.
1. After cleaning, press the ON/OFF button to shut
down the steam mop and the indicator light will
turn off. Unplug the machine from mains supply,
put the machine upright against to the wall for
20 minutes until it cools off completely.
2. Remove the mop pad.
NOTE: The mop pad may be dirty and hot.
It is safe to machine wash, then let it dry out
by itself.
3. Empty any excess water in the water tank
into the sink, allow to air dry return to the
steam mop.
4. Place the steam mop against a wall in an
upright position and make sure the steam
mop will not fall off. A protective pad should
be placed under the steam mop head to
prevent any damage to the floor.
Instructions for Use (in steam mop)
1. Remove the water tank from the steam mop.
2. Add 100ml of the descaling solution into the
water tank. Fill the rest of the tank with water.
3. Re-fit the water tank back into the steam mop.
4. Plug the steam mop into mains power supply
and switch on. The steam mop needs to run
(without the steam mop head attached) until the
water tank is empty. Please ensure this is done
in a well-ventilated area away from the floor.
5. Once the water tank is empty, refill the tank with
water and re-run the steam mop again until the
water tank is empty. This will help flush out any
remaining mineral build up.
Clean-Up Descaling Solution
1. The descaling solution comes equipped in an
easy to use chamber pack bottle - ensuring
the right amount of solution to be used in your
steam mop every time.
2. Remove the cap from the measuring chamber
(leaving the 2nd cap on the main bottle).
3. Simply squeeze the main body of the bottle
and watch the solution rise up through the side
viewing strip up into the measuring chamber.
Continue to squeeze until there is 100ml of
solution in the chamber.
4. Pour the 100ml descaling solution straight into
the water tank on your steam mop.
5. Replace the cap on the measuring chamber on
the descaling solution bottle.

CAUTION: Prior to cleaning or maintaining your steam mop, isolate the unit
by removing the cable from the power outlet. Service problems that appear
to be major can often be solved easily. You can be your own troubleshooter
by reviewing this guide. All other servicing should be done by an authorized
Hoover service agent or qualified technician.
Fault Cause Solution
No steam and indicator
light is not on
- Unit may not be plugged into
the electrical outlet correctly.
- The electrical outlet may
not be working properly,
check the fuse or breaker,
or consult an electrician.
- The power cable may
be damaged.
- Check if there is water in
the tank.
- Check if the air valve on the
top of the tank is blocked.
- Check if the water pump is
damaged.
- Connect the plug properly to
the socket.
- Add water.
- Remove the valve and add
water, see if the steam output
is right.
- If unit is still not working,
call Hoover Floorcare
1300 360 845.
No steam, water
leaking from air outlet
- Steam generator may
be damaged.
- Fuse may be damaged.
- Temperature controller may
be damaged.
- Clean water tank may
be empty.
- The water tank may not be
attached correctly.
- Water filter may be clogged
and needs to be replaced.
– Ensure water tank is full.
– If unit is still not working,
call Hoover Floorcare
1300 360 845.

Water leaking from tank - There may be a crack or hole on
the tank.
- Seal ring of the tank may be cracked.
- Water tank may be overfilled, discard
some water.
- Change the tank.
Steam not sufficient - Pipeline may be blocked by water scale.
- Voltage may be too low.
- Install a voltage stabilizer.
- If unit is still not working, call Hoover
Floorcare 1300 360 845.
Steam mop is leaking
water all over the floor
- Mop pad not properly installed. Mop pad
too wet or dirty.
– The mop pad may be overused and
needs to be changed. Mop pads can
be cleaned in washer/dryer. Over
time, however, the mop pads can
start to wear.
– Be sure the microfibre mop pad is
attached properly.
– Condensation may form inside the
unit dripping water upon initial use.
If necessary, lay a towel on the floor
underneath unit during the process.
– If the unit should continue to leak
water, unplug and wait 5 minutes
before trying again.

Conditions of Warranty
Your Hoover steam mop, in the case of domestic use, has a one year
parts and labour warranty against product defects and failures when
the product is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of
this warranty statement.
This warranty commences from the original date of purchase and is
not transferable; please retain your original proof of purchase for any
warranty claims. This warranty is valid only in the country where the
cleaner is purchased.
The cleaner must be operated in accordance with these instructions
and used only for domestic household cleaning to remove dirt
and dust from household carpets, flooring, walls and fabrics. This
cleaner is not fit to be used as an industrial cleaner, hence will void
the manufacturer’s warranty if used inappropriately.
Accessories and consumables, unless defective in manufacture, are
not subject to this warranty. In order to prolong the life of accessories
and consumables, regular care and maintenance is recommended.
When properly used and cared for, your cleaner will render excellent
service; refer to the instruction manual for further details, as misuse
or failure to follow the instructions makes this warranty void.
In the event of service or advice being needed, please contact

discretion of Hoover Floorcare. If Hoover Floorcare decide to repair
or replace the cleaner, it will do so at its own cost.
Hoover Floorcare is unable to accept responsibility under this
warranty for any repair work not carried out by an authorised Hoover
Service Agent or from the use of non-genuine parts.
If any part is no longer available or manufactured, Hoover Floorcare
will replace it with a genuine functional replacement part. This
warranty does not apply to the cost of replacing any parts of
the product due to normal wear and tear, alterations, improper
installation, physical abuse, misuse or accidental damage. Any
transportation costs involved in the repair of defective parts shall be
borne by the claimant.
If proof of purchase cannot be provided at the time of a warranty
claim or service, any work carried out on the cleaner is chargeable.
The repair or replacement of the cleaner under this warranty does
not extend the original period of warranty.
The benefits conferred by this warranty are in addition to all other
rights and remedies in respect of the product as outlined under the
Competition and Consumer Act and other State and Territory laws.
“Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded in
the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement
or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other
reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have
the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable
quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.”
