up and open the lid only after the kettle has
cooled down.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Carefully wipe the outside of the appliance to
removeanydustthatmayhaveaccumulated.Dry
with a dry cloth. Remove any labels or stickers.
Do not immerse the supply cord in water or other
liquids.Ifyouareusingthekettleforthersttime,
itisrecommendedthatyoucleanitbeforeuseby
boilingafullkettleofwatertwiceanddiscarding
the water.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON
SAFETY
When using any electrical appliance, always
follow basic safety precautions, including the

1. Connect and operate the appliance only in

8. While the water is boiling or just after the
waterhasboiled,avoidanycontactwiththe
steam.
9. Alwaystakecaretopourboilingwaterslowly
and carefully without tipping the kettle too
fast.
10. Becarefulwhenrellingahotkettle.
11. Theattachedbase cannot be used for any
other purpose than its intended use.
12. Extremecautionmustbeusedwhenmoving
an appliance containing hot water.
13. The use of accessory attachments that
are not recommended by the appliance
manufacturer, may result in re, electric
shocks or personal injury.
14. Unplug the kettle from the outlet when not in
useandbeforecleaning.Allowthekettleto
cool down before installing / removing any
partsandbeforecleaningit.

OPERATION OF YOUR KETTLE
Usethekettleonlywithitsincludedbase.
1. To ll the kettle, remove it from the power
base and open the lid by pressing the lid
openingbutton,llwiththedesiredamount
ofwater,andthenclosethelid.Alternatively,
the kettle may be lled through the spout.
The water level should not exceed the
max marks or sit below the min level. Too
little water will cause the kettle to switch off
beforethewaterhasboiled.
The max capacity of the kettle is 1.7L.
Do not add water over the maximum
level, as it may spill out of the spout when
boiling. Ensure that the lid is rmly in place
before connecting the plug into a power outlet.
2. Positionthekettleonthepowerbase.
3. Connect the plug into a power outlet.
4. Pressthetemperaturesettingbuttontoset
the temperature to 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 or 100
°C.
5. When the water has reached the selected
temperature, the kettle will switch off
automatically, the display will show the
temperatureandabuzzerwillsound.
6. If the temperature cannot be set, this
means that the water in the kettle is hotter
than the desired temperature. The current
temperature will light up. You can turn off
thekettleatanytimebypressingthecancel
button.
The selected temperature can be
changed at any time while the kettle is
heating up. While the kettle is heating up, the
current temperature lights up.
Be careful when pouring the water from
your kettle as boiling water may cause
scalds. Open the lid carefully while the water
in the kettle is hot.
Below 45° C, the kettle automatically
shuts down and goes into “standby”
mode.
If the container is removed and re-introduced
before the heating process is over, the
settings stay active for a few minutes. Then
the appliance enters into stand-by mode.
Press any button to start it again.
KEEP-WARM FUNCTION
Thisfunctionmakesitpossibletokeepthewater
at the set temperature.
You can turn it on with any temperature setting.
Pressthekeep-warmbuttonandalightwillshow
thatthefunctionisactive.Toturnifoff,pressthe
buttonagain.Thekeep-warmindicatorgoesoff.
The keep-warm feature switches off
automatically after 1 hour.
PRE-BOIL FUNCTION
Thisfunctionmakesitpossibletobringthewater
totheboilregardlessofthesettemperature.Press
thePre-Boilbuttontostartit.Theapplianceheats
thewateruptotheboilingpointandstaysactive
for 2 minutes. Then the temperature decreases to
thesetvalueandabuzzersounds.
BOIL-DRY PROTECTION
Should you accidentally let the kettle operate
without water, the boil-dry protection will
automatically switch off the power. If this occurs,
allow the kettle to cool down before lling with
cold water.
CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
Always disconnect the appliance from the power
outletbeforecleaning.
1. Never immerse the kettle, power cord
or power base in water and never allow
moisture to get in contact with these parts.
2. Wipe the outside of the body with a damp
clothorcleaner.Neveruseatoxiccleaner.
3. Remember to clean the lter on a regular
basis. For easier cleaning, detach the lter
bypressingitdowndirectly.Thenreplaceit
after cleaning.
Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or
abrasive cleaners or brushes to clean
the outside of the kettle to prevent any gloss
loss.

REMOVAL OF MINERAL
DEPOSITS
Your kettle should be periodically descaled, as
the mineral deposits in tap water may form scale
on the bottom of the kettle and cause a less
efcientoperation.Youcanuseanycommercially
available descaler. Follow the instructions on
the package of the descaler. Alternatively, you
mayfollowtheinstructions below and usewhite
vinegar.
1. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar,
thenaddwatertotheamountsoastocover
the bottom of the kettle completely. Leave
thesolutioninthekettleovernight.
2. Discardthemixtureinthekettle,llthekettle
with clean water, boil and then discard the
water.Repeatseveraltimesuntilthesmellof
vinegar has been ushed away.Any stains
remaininginsidethespoutcanberemoved
byrubbingitwithadampcloth.
