Restoring Your Hard Drive
with Software Driver CDs
To start a full restore, open the Compaq Restore Solution package
and follow the directions provided in the Compaq Restore
Solution User’s Guide. Note that you will be prompted to load any
gray Restore Supplemental Software CDs you have during this
process. When this process is complete, install the remaining
software provided. Doing so will enable the same functionality as
when your PC left the factory.
Some of the remaining software supports the hardware specific to
your PC (such as audio drivers and high-end graphic drivers)
while some is third-party software (such as anti-virus software).
First locate and install all of the gray and white CDs labeled
Software Drivers. Once this is complete, locate and install all of
the remaining third-party software as desired.
