This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your HP system, which contains the
following components:
•The RP3000 Terminal
•LD-220 Pole Display
•HP-123 Cash Drawer
•Either the A794 Thermal Printer or the A799 Thermal Printer

Hardware Ports
Note: the following hardware requires Microsoft POS for .Net:
•Hp A794 Thermal Receipt Printer
•HP A799 Thermal Receipt Printer
•HP LD 220 Pole display
If you do not have this hardware to install then the next section is unnecessary.

Installing Microsoft POS for .NET
The installer for Microsoft POS for .NET can be downloaded at:
•http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/POS_for_.Net.exe
1. Run the installer and select Install.
2. Enter a User Name and Organization and select Next.
3. Select Accept.

4. Select Typical and then Next.
5. Select Install.
6. Select Finish.

HP LS2208 Barcode Scanner Configuration
The barcodes below are for resetting the HP USB Barcode Scanner to factory defaults and for simulating a
carriage return (pressing the Enter key).
Scan this barcode to reset all scanner parameters to factory defaults:

To simulate a carriage return or pressing the Enter key, scan the following three barcodes in order:

HP MSR Configuration Utility
In order to work with pcAmerica’s software, all MSR’s (magnetic swipe readers) need to read from track 2
only. When swiped into notepad a credit card should look like this (including the carriage return);

If when swiped in notepad the swipe looks like this;

It is reading from tracks 1 and 2, and the MSR needs to be configured to work with our software.
To configure the HP MSR to read only from Track 2 simply
install the configuration software (sp32810.exe).
The configuration software can be downloaded at:
•http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/HP.USB.MSR.Utility.zip
NOTE: The configuration software must be extracted before use.
1. Select Next.
2. Accept the terms of the license agreement.
3. Select Next.

Select the location where you want the install files.
4. Select Next.
5. Select Next.
6. Select Yes.
7. Select Yes.
8. Input your User Name and Company Name and select
Next.
9. Select Next.
10. Select Typical and select Next.
11. Select Next.
12. Select Next.
13. Select Finish.

14. Open the HP MagSwipe Configuration Utility.
15. Select Change Basic Reader Settings and select the
Track Settings tab.
16. Under Track Select, select Track 2 Only.
17. Select Send to MSR.
You should receive notification that the changes were sent
correctly.
Note: If you are using a RP3000, or the RP5700 computer from HP you will have an additional step:
1. In Windows got to Start.
2. Then Control Panel open Add/Remove programs.
3. You will look for OPOS support for HP mini USB MSR and you will want to remove it.
This application will cause any changes you make to the configuration null.

Installing the HP L5006tm Touch Screen Monitor
The driver for the HP l5006tm can be downloaded at:
http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/HP_TS_sp36100.zip
1. After extracting the files select I accept the
terms in the license agreement.
2. Select Next.
3. Select Next to install it to the default directory.

4. If the monitor has been detected select Next.
5. You should receive a notification that The
display drivers have been installed on your
system.
6. Select Finish.
