This document provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your HP system, which contains the
following components:
•The RP3000 Terminal
•LD-220 Pole Display
•HP-123 Cash Drawer
•Either the A794 Thermal Printer or the A799 Thermal Printer
•The HP L5006tm Touch Screen Monitor
•The HP LS2208 Barcode Scanner

Hardware Ports
Note: the following hardware requires Microsoft POS for .Net:
•Hp A794 Thermal Receipt Printer
•HP A799 Thermal Receipt Printer
•HP LD 220 Pole display
If you do not have this hardware to install then the next section is unnecessary.

Installing Microsoft POS for .NET
The installer for Microsoft POS for .NET can be downloaded at:
•http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/POS_for_.Net.exe
1. Run the installer and select Install.
2. Enter a User Name and Organization and select Next.
3. Select Accept.

4. Select Typical and then Next.
5. Select Install.
6. Select Finish.

HP LS2208 Barcode Scanner Configuration
The barcodes below are for resetting the HP USB Barcode Scanner to factory defaults and for simulating a
carriage return (pressing the Enter key).
Scan this barcode to reset all scanner parameters to factory defaults:

HP MSR Configuration Utility
In order to work with pcAmerica’s software, all MSR’s (magnetic swipe readers) need to read from track 2
only. When swiped into notepad a credit card should look like this (including the carriage return);

If when swiped in notepad the swipe looks like this;

It is reading from tracks 1 and 2, and the MSR needs to be configured to work with our software.
To configure the HP MSR to read only from Track 2 simply
install the configuration software (sp32810.exe).
The configuration software can be downloaded at:
•http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/HP.USB.MSR.Utility.zip
NOTE: The configuration software must be extracted before use.
1. Select Next.
2. Accept the terms of the license agreement.
3. Select Next.

Select the location where you want the install files.
4. Select Next.
5. Select Next.
6. Select Yes.
7. Select Yes.
8. Input your User Name and Company Name and select
Next.
9. Select Next.
10. Select Typical and select Next.
11. Select Next.
12. Select Next.
13. Select Finish.

14. Open the HP MagSwipe Configuration Utility.
15. Select Change Basic Reader Settings and select the
Track Settings tab.
16. Under Track Select, select Track 2 Only.
17. Select Send to MSR.
You should receive notification that the changes were sent
correctly.
Note: If you are using a RP3000, or the RP5700 computer from HP you will have an additional step:
1. In Windows got to Start.
2. Then Control Panel open Add/Remove programs.
3. You will look for OPOS support for HP mini USB MSR and you will want to remove it.
This application will cause any changes you make to the configuration null.

Installing the HP L5006tm Touch Screen Monitor
The driver for the HP l5006tm can be downloaded at:
http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/HP_TS_sp36100.zip
1. After extracting the files select I accept the
terms in the license agreement.
2. Select Next.
3. Select Next to install it to the default directory.

4. If the monitor has been detected select Next.
5. You should receive a notification that The
display drivers have been installed on your
system.
6. Select Finish.

Installing the OPOS driver for both the A799 and the A794
NOTE: To install OPOS drivers CRE/RPE Must be running version 12.00 or later.
This can be checked at the login screen by going to File then About.
Printer install files can be downloaded at:
•http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/OPOS_HP_Printer_Driver.zip
1. Extract the file OPOS_HP_Printer_Driver.zip. (Those
are the driver files.) Run the installer.
2. Select Next.
3. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement
and select Next.

4. Select the location to extract the files to and select
Next (e.g. C:\SWSetup\SP41178).
5. Select Next.
6. Select the printer(s) that you have (e.g. HP A799
Printer or HP A794 Printer) and select Next.
7. Select YES to have the OPOS Control Objects installed.

8. Select Printer Class USB and select Next.
9. Select Yes for the cash drawer Alarm.
10. Select the Destination Folder then select Next.
11. Select Next.
12. Select Finish.

1. Within CRE/RPE go to Manager/Options and enter the administrator password (where applicable).
2. Select Setup.
3. Select Friendly Printer Setup.
4. Highlight Receipt from the options on the left (Select Friendly Printer).
5. Highlight the appropriate HP receipt printer (A799 or A794) from the top right (Select local Windows printer).
6. Under Printer Type select OPOS (requires installation of OPOS driver).
7. Finally select Cut Receipt at this Station and then Save & Exit to commit changes.

Installing the HP-123 Cash Drawer
Note: No drivers are required to install the Cash Drawer
The cable to install the cash drawer should have a small end
(RJ11) and a big end (RJ45). (Pictured Left.)
1. Plug the big end of the cable into the underside of
the HP-123 cash drawer.
2. Plug the small end of the cable into the TPG A776 or
the KS6600’s “CR” port.
3. Select Manager or options and then select Setup (4)
then Setup Screen (G).
4. Under Default Cash Drawer Port select the
appropriate port (the correct port will have the
name of your printer in it).

Installing HP LD 220 Pole Display OPOS Driver
The OPOS driver for the HP LD 220 Pole Display can be downloaded at:
•http://download2.pcamerica.com/drivers/HP_Pole_Display_OPOS.zip
1. After downloading the driver extract and run the
installer.
2. Select Next.
3. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement.
4. Select Next.
5. Select the location to save the install files and select
Next.

6. Select Next to begin the OPOS driver installation.
7. Enter a set name to display on the VFD and select Next.
8. Make sure all the options to be installed are checked
and select Next.
9. Select Install to install the Driver.

1. Select the Options/Manager and enter your password (where applicable).
2. Select Setup and then Setup Screen and re-enter your password if necessary.
3. Select the Hardware tab and choose COM1 for the Pole Display Port.
4. Select OPOS for the Pole Display Type.
5. Select Update at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
