1. If the the Ethernet Interface section does not appear in Setup (for example when replacing
the system board), refer to the warning at the end of the “Ethernet 10/100 BaseT Network
Connections” section on page 5 .

Ethernet 10/100 BaseT Network Connections
The 10/100 BT board has two RJ-45 UTP connectors, one for 10BaseT
networking (supporting remote power-on) and one for 100BT networking
(supporting remote wake up, but not remote power-on).
Warning
If the the Ethernet Interface section does not appear in Setup
(for example when replacing the system board), proceed as
follows:
❒Switch off the PC.
❒Set the system board switch 9 to closed (clears the product identification
field) and ensure that the Ethernet Interface is properly plugged in.
❒Switch on the PC to clear the product identification field in the BIOS and then
switch it off again.
❒Set the system board switch 9 to open (normal operation) and switch on the
PC.
❒The PC prompts for new information. By identifying the product correctly, the
BIOS is able to tailor itself for the particular product, and to enable the
appropriate features.

Main Memory
The PC has three banks on the system board for installing main memory; banks
A, B and C. Each bank consists of two sockets. The PC is supplied with 16 or
32 MB of main memory (composed of two memory modules installed in any
bank). The PC uses 60-ns EDO DRAM.
Memory modules must be installed in identical pairs, so that each bank with
memory installed contains two memory modules of the same size and type
(both EDO, or both FPM).
Main memory can be installed up to a maximum of 192 MB.
Video Memory
The PC is supplied with 2 MB of video memory. An additional 2 MB of video
memory can be installed by adding a D3557B module in the video memory
socket. This will make a total of 4 MB. Alternatively, an additional 6 MB of video
memory can be installed by adding an MGA-MIL/MOD6 module in the video
memory socket (ordered from Matrox); this will make a total of 8 MB.

If any thermal interface material, such as aluminium
foil or silicone, is supplied with the heat-sink or the
processor chip, place it carefully on the top of the
processor before installing the heat-sink.
