HP Locks for Master Pass Key System
This manual describes how to install an HP lock in your PC. This
lock can either be opened with the key provided or, if configured
before installation in the PC, with the Master Pass Key, which is
available from HP as a separate accessory.
Supported Platforms
To find out on which PCs you can install this accessory, go to the
following HP accessories web site:

WARNING For your safety, never remove the PC’s cover without first
removing the power cord and any connection to a
telecommunication network. Always replace the cover before
switching the PC on again.

Installing the Lock in the PC
NOTE If you want to program the lock for use with a Master Pass Key,
refer to the Master Pass Key System User’s Guide, provided with
the Master Pass Key System accessory. Program the lock before
fitting it in the PC.
1Remove your PC’s cover (described in your PC’s User’s Guide).
2Push out the metal filler disc on the PC’s back panel.
3Remove the screw situated in the top casing of the PC, just
behind the power supply.
4Insert the lock in the hole (with the key in the lock). Make sure
that the pin on the bottom of the lock is engaged in the hole in
the side panel locking mechanism.
5Secure the lock with the metal clip provided.
6Replace the PC’s cover (described in your PC’s User’s Guide).

Hardware Warranty
This HP accessory is covered by a limited hardware warranty for a
period of one year from the date of purchase by the original end-
user. The type of service provided is return to an HP or repair-
authorized reseller service-center.
At Hewlett-Packard's discretion, a defective accessory will be
repaired or replaced by a new unit, either of the same type or of an
equivalent model.
If this accessory is purchased and used together with an HP Vectra
personal computer, it will be covered by the warranty of this
computer, under the same conditions of service and duration.
Please, refer to the warranty statement provided with your HP
personal computer for warranty limitations, customer
responsibilities and other terms and conditions.
