This document describes how to install the internal USB cable for your HP Workstation.
Kit Contents

Step 1—Prepare the Workstation
Your workstation documentation includes instructions for disassembling and preparing the workstation for
installation, including shutting down power, disconnecting all power from the system, and removing the
access panel. For more detailed information, refer to the Service and Technical Reference Guide for your
HP Workstation at http://www.hp.com/support/workstation_manuals.

Internal USB Cable Installation
Step 2—Install the Internal USB Cable
After you have prepared the workstation for installation, perform the following steps to install the internal
USB cable.
The internal USB cable is used to connect an internal USB device.
1. Attach one end of the internal USB cable to the USB connector 1on the system board. See the label
on the inside of the side access panel for the location of this connector.
2. Attach the other end of the internal USB cable to the USB connector 2on the USB device.
NOTE: You need a Male USB type A connector to plug into the Female USB type A receptacle in this kit.
3. For convenience, use the adjustable strap 3provided to fasten the USB device to an internal chassis
surface (see examples below).

NOTE: The location of the system board connector for the USB cable varies. Use the system board
diagram included on the chassis cover to determine the location of the connector on your system.
Step 3—Reassemble the Workstation
After installing the internal USB cable, reassemble the workstation using the instructions in the
workstation documentation. The reassembly process involves reinstalling the side access panel, and
restoring power to your unit.

手順 2－内部 USB ケーブルの接続
ケーブル接続する ワー ク ス テーシ ョ ンの準備が完了し た ら 、 次の手順に従って内部 USB ケーブ
ルを接続 し ます。
内部 USB ケーブルを使用し て内蔵 USB 装置を接続し ます。
1. 内部 USB ケーブルの一端を、 システム ボード上の USB コネクタ 1に接続し て く だ さ い。
サイ ド アクセス パネルの内側にある ラベルを見て、 こ のコネク タの位置を確認し ます。
2. 内部 USB ケーブルの他端を、 USB 装置の USB コネクタ 2に接続し て く だ さ い。
注記 : このキッ トの場合、 メスの USB type A レセプタ クルに接続するために、 オスの USB type
Aコネク タが必要にな り ます。

注記 : USB ケーブルを接続す る シ ス テ ム ボー ド コネクタの位置は、 装置によって異なり ます。
シャーシ カバーに付いてい る シ ス テ ム ボー ド図を見て、 シ ステムの コネ ク タの位置を確認し て
ください。
手順 3－ワー ク ステーシ ョ ンの組立
内部 USB ケーブルの接続が完了 し た ら 、 説明書に従っ て ワー ク ス テーシ ョ ン を組み立て ます。
組立作業には、 サ イ ド アクセス パネルの取 り 付けおよ び電源の再投入が含まれます。
