HP Pavilion dv6 2134-eo - wifi card
(more like documentation then a guide) :p
Did install osx on my laptop and since the original wifi card was unsuported i did buy a new pcie card:
BCM94322MC (Apple macbook wifi card) since that card should work out of the box.
After changing wifi card and tryed to boot computer is got this nice message
After searching this error on google i did found out that HP have a whitelist in bios.
To be able to use the new wifi card i have to edit bios and replace one of the working card id’s
with the id of my new card.
Only one problem, i did’t know what hardware id my card did have.
1) Hotswaping card…….
I did remove harddrive and did tape it on the bottom of the computer, to be able to reach wifi card
placed bellow hardrive.

2) Preparing the new wifi card.
Just to be safe i did tape pin-20 on the wificard
3) Start computer, after windows booted put computer in sleep mode.
Now for fun part, messing with hardware when my new computer is ”almost” running =(

Now i did fit my new wifi card…
After it was done, i did just flip computer and did wake it up.
and now the new card was found, and i could check hardware id

Just a reminder, if you do the same with your original card you dont have to change card, you can
just start patch bios and flash it….

Now we have to prepair al the hardware id’s
This was my original wifi card:

Now we need to flip it around abit
Original: 16 8C 00 2B 30 40 10 3C
Flipped: 8C 16 2B 00 3C 10 40 30
Finished hex string = 8C162B003C104030
Search this hexstring in winhex..
This is my new wifi card:

Flipped: E4 14 2B 43 3C 10 7F 13
Finished hex string: E4142B433C107F13
Now we need to patch th bios.
1) download latest bios
2) Open bios in ezh20_2.1.0.4, press ok
3) Open winhex
im lazy so im just gona post al pictures here now…..

Now the bios is unpacked, and located in ram memory.
And to edit it we need a hex editor with ram support….

Search original wifi card hardware id: 8C162B003C104030
The red is the orignal card, above marked in blue is some other card. And since i don teven havet
hem.. i can just change one of those to my card..
If we want to replace this card: 8C162B003C103F30 (bottom of blue section)
Just do like this… search hex and replace..

Search and replace all.
Around this part my winhex was fucked so i did use HxD Hex Editor.
So dont realy know how winhex reacts.
But after its done, try press SAVE.
TAB to ezh20_2.1.0.4, and now you can save your new bios….
To extract bios and flash you can do like this….
Extract sp48896.exe with winrar.

Replace original bios in that package with your patched and start flash tool…
