A power cord is included with the monitor. Ifanother cord is used, use onlyapower source and
connection appropriatefor this monitor. For information on the correct power cord set to use witht
monitor, refer to the Connecting the Power Cable sectioninChapter 3.
To reduce the riskofelectric shockor damage totheequipment:
• Do not disable thepower cord grounding feature. The grounding plug is animportant safetyfeature.
• Plug the power cord in agrounded(earthed)outletthat is easilyaccessible at all times.
• Disconnect powerfromthe productbyunpluggingthe power cordfromthe electrical outlet.
For your safety, do not place anythingonpowercords or cables.Arrangethemsothatnoonemay
accidentallysteponortrip over them.Do not pullonacord or cable.Whenunpluggingfromtheelect
outlet,grasp the cord bythe plug.

For the protectionofthe monitor,as well as the computer, connect all powercords for the
computer and its peripheral devices (such as a monitor, printer,scanner) tosome formofsurge
protection device such as apowerstripor Uninterruptible Power Supply(UPS). Not all powerstrips
providesurgeprotection;thepowerstrips mustbe specificallylabeledas havingthisability.Use ap
strip whosemanufacturer offers a Damage Replacement Policyso youcan replace the equipment, if
surge protection fails.
Use the appropriateand correctlysized furniture designed toproperlysupport yourHP LCDmonitor.
LCD monitors that are inappropriatelysituatedondressers, bookcases, shelves, desks,
speakers, chests, orcarts mayfall over andcause personal injury.
Care should betaken toroute all cords andcablesconnected to the LCD monitorso thattheycan not
be pulled, grabbed,or tripped over.
