FOR SAFE OPERATION
The operators of the tool and the maintenance personnel who are in charge of maintenance and repair work
are required to read the following SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS .
Fully understand and follow the descriptions given in this Instruction Manual and the warning symbols at-
tached to the tool.
( I ) Description of warning messages
* Determine the degree of impairment referring to the below-stated classication.
Major injury : Indicates the loss of eyesight, wounds, burns (hyperthermal and hypothermal
burns), electric shocks, fracture of a bone, poisoning, etc. requiring emergency of
extended medical care.
Injury (Minor injury) : Indicates wounds, burns, electric shocks, etc. requiring medical treatment.
Damage to property : Indicates damage to the machinery and or the surrounding area.
DANGER :
Used in the case where it is assumed that misuse of the machine will expose the operator
to immediate danger of major injury or death.
WARNING :
Used in the case where it is assumed that misuse of the machine can expose the
operator to danger of major injury or death.
CAUTION :
Used in the case where it is assumed that misuse of the machine can expose the
operator to danger of injury and can cause damage to property.
Basic safety instructions
1. Be sure to read this Instruction Manual and all the instructions and other materials supplied with the unit
as accessories. Save this Instruction Manual and make it available for review whenever necessary.
Safety device and warning labels
1. Such safety devices as the safety cover and the like are not attached to this tool. When performing con-
nection, use this tool while fully considering so that the ngers or the like are not caught in the handle
section.
Application
1. This tool shall only be used for its originally intended purpose while following the instructions specied
in this Instruction Manual. Hirose assumes no responsibility for any misuse of the tool other than the
intended use.
2. Modications to this tool is prohibited. We assume no responsibility for accidents resulting from modi-
cations.
Maintenance
1. To prevent possible accidents caused by unfamiliarity with the operation of the tool, repair and adjust-
ment of the tool shall be conducted only by maintenance personnel who have a full knowledge of the
tool. Any repair and adjustment beyond the range covered by the instructions given in this Instruction
Manual is prohibited. We assume no responsibility for accidents caused by improper repair or adjust-
ment or the use of non-genuine part(s).
2. To protect against personal injury, check to be sure that screws and nuts are properly tightened after the
completion of repair/adjustment works or replacement of the parts.
3. Periodically cleaning of the tool is recommended.
4. In the event that your tool fails to perform normally after repair or adjusting immediately stop the work
and contact us for service so as to protect against personal injury.

(Caution) Guide plate and pressure block are HIROSE products and cannot be used for
connector other than that for the connection press.
In addition, when connection press and accessories other than HIROSE connection
press and the accessories are used, the connector connection quality cannot be guar-
anteed. So, be careful.

4-2. Both-end connection
There are the following two kinds when connecting FX2B to the both ends of cable.

把 FX2B 安装到电缆的两端时，有以下的 2 种接线方式。

5. Connection circuit diagram
Engagement section is of 2-row connection and board DIP section is of 4-row staggered connection. According-
ly, the following connection diagram is used as the circuit diagram.
In addition, the pin Nos. are set to A1 or a1 at the position of ▲ mark, and B1 or b1 at the opposite side.

嵌合部是 2 列，但是电路板末端为 4 列曲折型，因此电路图为连接图所示。
另外，销针号码把▲标记的位置作为 A1 或者 a1，把相反一侧作为 B1 或者 b1。

6. Connection method
6-1. Cable cutting dimension
Cable cutting dimension is required to cut in advance the connector terminal area (connection allowance) lon-
ger than the dimension L when completed.

6-1. 电缆切断尺寸
电缆切断尺寸，对于完成时 L 尺寸，应考虑连接器的接线部分（接线处）事先留出必要的长度。

6-2. Connection work method
1) Tool set
The following units are necessary for connection work.
Connection press HHP-502
FX2B(A)-GPA
(*
Connector guide is separately required for con-
necting the FX2BR.)
Set the pressure block and the guide plate of
FX2B(A)-GPA to the connection press .
Lock with a screw one place () in the front of the
guide plate .
(Caution) Check whether there is any trouble (breakage, looseness of bolt, etc.) with the connection press
HHP-502 and the guide plate before performing the connection work.
In addition, the normal shut height (opening at the lower dead point of the press) of the connection
press HHP-502 is 49.3 mm or less. Insulation displacement under the improper height will be
caused to the defective insulation displacement since the U-contact cannot be fully pressed in.
6-2. 接线操作方法
1) 安放工具
接线操作需要以下的设备。
接线冲压器 HHP-502
FX2B(A)-GPA
(※ 进行 FX2BR 结线操作时需要另行配备连接器引导件）
把 FX2B(A)-GPA 的加压块导板安装到接线冲压器。
请导板前方的 1 个位置（）固定用螺丝。
( 注意 ) 进行接线操作之前，请确认接线冲压器HHP-502 和导板有无异常（损坏、螺栓松动等）。
同时，接线冲压器HHP-502 的正常关闭高度（冲压器下死点处的打开程度）为 49.3mm 以下。不适宜的高度
时的压接，不能良好地压接 U 形接触，造成压接不良。

2) Setting of the applicable connector and number of poles
FX2B (A)-GPA can correspond with the number of contacts from 20 to 100 of the connector of FX2-B**S-1, 27R
and FX2BA-**S-1, 27R. In addition, FX2B(A)-GPA is able to correspond with the number of contacts from 20 to
100 of the connector of FX2BR-**S-1, 27R connector, provided that the exclusive connector guide is additional-
ly purchased.
When connecting the connector of FX2B, set the connector guide of which the groove () is larger to the
inside.
When connecting the connector of FX2BA, set the connector guide of which the groove() is smaller to the
inside.
If you want to connect the connector of FX2BR with FX2B(A)-GPA, it is necessary to purchase the exclusive
connector guide. Then, set the exclusive connector guide of which groove () is larger to the inside when con-
nect the connector of FX2BR.
To set the number of contacts, adjust the edges of the insides of th connector guide and the cable guide
to the number of contacts indicating lines on the name plates .
2) 适合连接器、极数配套
FX2B(A)-GPA 可以对应 FX2-B**S-1、27R 连接器以及 FX2BA-**S-1、27R 连接器的 20 ～ 100 的各芯数。
此外，通过追加购买专用的连接器引导件，也能够应对 FX2BR-**S-1, 27R 连接器 20 ～ 100 的芯数。
接线 FX2B 连接器时，把连接器导向器的槽（）的较大的一侧作为内侧进行安放，然后再接线。
接线 FX2BA 连接器时，把槽（）的较小的一侧作为内侧进行安放，然后再接线。
在进行 FX2BR 连接器结线操作时，购买专用的连接器引导件，将槽（）较大的一方安装到内侧之后，就可以使用。
芯数的设定，请把连接器导向器、电缆导向器的内侧端面对准标牌的芯数显示线然后进行设定。

6-3. Cable connecting procedure
1) Setting of the protector B
Set the protector B to the position as
shown in the gure.
* To set the protector B , adjust the protruding
section of the protector B to the notch section
of the base plate .
2) Setting of the cable (rst one)
Press the end of the cable (rst one) to the
cable stopper until it will go no further.Move
the cable presser A in the direction to pass
over the cable .
3) Clamping of the cable (rst one)
Turn the handle in the direction until it
comes in contact with the stopper (the clamp
arm is lowered) and clamp the cable presser
A .
6-3. 接线操作顺序
1) 安放保护器 B
把保护器 B 安放到图示 的位置。
※ 安放保护器 B 时，把保护器 B 的突出部分对
准基板的缺口 进行安放。
2) 安放电缆（第 1 条）
把电缆（第 1 条）的端面顶到电缆止动器进
行安放。向箭头 的方向移动电缆压块 A ，穿
过电缆的上方。
3) 夹紧电缆（第 1 条）
向箭头方向 方向转动手柄顶到止动器（夹紧
臂下降），然后夹紧电缆压块 A 。

4) Setting of the protector A
Set the protector A over the protector B . (Set
protector A while paying attention to the orienta-
tion as shown in the illustration.)
5) Setting of the cable (second one)
To set the cable (second one), press it to the
cable stopper section of protector A until it will
go no further.
(Caution) Adjust so that the cable does not ride
on from the cable stopper section of
the protector A .
6) Clamping of the cable (second one)
Press the cable presser B until the pin is
caught with a sound of "click".
4) 安放保护器 A
把保护器 A 安放到保护器 B 的上面。（请注意方
向性，如图所示那样安放。）
5) 安放电缆（第 2 条）
把电缆（第 2 条）顶到保护器 A 的电缆止动器
处进行安放。
( 注意 ) 请注意不要让电缆跨到保护器 A 的电缆止
动器 处。
6) 夹紧电缆（第 2 条）
压入电缆压块 B ，直到听到销针发出压紧的“咔
嚓”声音。

7) Setting of the connector main body
Place the long part of contact of the connector
main body to the rear side and set so that the
contact can enter the contact hole of the protec-
tor A .
(Caution) When using FX2B connector, set
it with the lock of the connector
main body closed. In addition, be
careful that the lock is not caught
with the protector B .
8) Insulation displacement
Fully press down the handle of hand press until
the ratchet is released.
9) Releasing of the clamp
Turn the handle in the direction to simul-
taneously release the clamp of cable pressers
A and B . (The pin slides and the cable
presser B also goes up swiftly as the clamp
arm goes up.)
7) 安放连接器本体
把连接器本体的端子的较长的一头作为里侧，
让端子能够插入保护器 A 的端子孔里进行安放。
( 注意 ) 使用 FX2B 连接器时，请在关闭了连接器本
体的锁定之后的状态下进行安放。同时，
请注意不要拉到保护器 B 的锁定。
8) 压接
向下按压手动冲压器的手柄直到棘轮完全到头。
9) 解除夹紧
向箭头 方向转动手柄之后，电缆压块 A 、
B的夹紧被同时解除。（夹紧臂上升的同时销
针滑动，电缆压块 B 也向上弹跳。）

10) Takeout of the connector
Remove cable pressers A and B and push
the eject lever to take out the connector.
11) Setting of the cable clamp
Fold back two pieces of the connected cable
together and put them between both sides of the
connector main body with the cable clamp
as shown in the illustration.
* Carefully check the orientation of notched part
in the cable clamp .
(Caution) Keep the exure of folding back of
the cable to the extent of 2 to 3 mm.
10) 取出连接器
卸下电缆压块 A 、B ，按压推顶器拨杆，
然后取出连接器。
11) 安放电缆夹
把 2 条被接线的电缆反折过来，如图所示那样用
电缆夹夹住连接器本体的两侧。
※ 请注意电缆夹的缺口部 的方向。
( 注意 ) 请把电缆翻折的弯曲度控制到 2 ～ 3mm 左
右。

7. Adjusting procedure of
the jig
Perform the adjustment of the clamp force to the
cable (rst one) as follows.
1) Loosen the setscrew.
2) Turn the clamp screw to adjust the clamp
force.
3) Tighten the setscrews at the position where
the clamp force has been adjusted.
7. 夹具的调整方法
关于电缆（第 1 条）夹紧力的调整方法程序如下。
1) 拧松固定螺丝。
2) 转动夹紧螺丝，调整夹紧力。
3) 夹紧力调整完毕，拧紧固定螺丝。
