keep it handy for quick reference. Pay particular attention to the safety instructions we have
provided for your protection. Contact your distributor if you do not fully understand this manual.

User Instruction
(1) When purchasing the products of our company, the user is required to fill the Warranty
carefully with official stamps. It will be grateful if the customer will send the first page and a
copy of invoice to the after-sales service department of the Company, or entrust the sales units
to send them instead. And the second page will be left for registration procedure by the local
dealers (maintain stations). If there area no local dealers (maintain stations) existing in some
areas, please send the first and second pages together to the after-sales service department of
the Company. Otherwise on maintain activities will be provided except maintain services.
(2) Provided some quality problems appear on the products of the Company in one year after
purchasing (except for Non-warranty parts), please contact the local dealers (maintain stations)
with the Warranty (Retention of users) or a copy of invoice as a certificate so as to get
specified maintain service. If the user can not provide the Warranty or a copy of invoice, the
Company will calculate the warranty period according to the Date of Manufacture, which
shall be one year.
(3) If a product is beyond the warranty period, the local dealers (maintain stations) can also
provide maintain services, but extra fees shall be charged according to the specifications of
the Company.
(4) If any damage caused by unauthorized fabrication, transit, incorrect Custody or caused by
operation not according to the Instruction, if unauthorized alteration of “warranty cards” and
no purchasing certificate provided, the Company will reserve the rights not to provide
maintain services for free. But maintain services can be provided by charging certain maintain
expenses.
The company reserves the modification and power of interpretation for the instruction.

●The objective of the precautions listed in this instruction is to ensure the safe use of machine
and prevent you and others from being harmed or injured.
●Safety consideration for the welding machine in design and manufacture. Work to the
precautions in this instruction, otherwise it will cause major accident.
●If used incorrectly, the harm and damage will occur in three different ways. So the caution
symbol and warning labels are listed in this instruction.

The serious injury mentioned above refers to eyesight damage, trauma, harm, electric shock,
fracture and poisoning and so on which will leave sequela and is in need of making treatment in
need of making treatment in hospital of going to hospital for long period, slight wound refers to
burn and electric shock and so on which is not in need of being in hospital but treatment for long
period. The damage of articles refers to the loss of property and damage of machine.
On the usage of machine, the symbols shown as following indicate [ must do] and [forbid

Danger Work to the following items in case of the major personal accident
1. Safety consideration for the welding machine in design and manufacture.
Work to the precautions in this instruction, otherwise it will cause death, serious
injury and other major personal accident.
2. For the construction power source of input, the choice of equipment location, the
application keeping and configure of high pressure gas, the keeping of workpiece

after welding and the treatment of rejection and so on, please observe the relative
regulations and the standards inside your company.
3. The unconcerned personnel never go in the welding working location.
4. The person using heart pacemaker do not be close to the welding machine in
operation and the surrounding of welding operation location without permission of
doctor. The produced magnetic field when the welding machine is electrified will
produce the bad effect on the action of pacemaker.
5. Invite the professional or expert person to install, examine and repair and maintain
the welding machine.
6. To ensure safety, please correctly understand the content in this instruction and
invite the personnel with safety usage knowledge and skill to operate this
machine.
7. Do not use machine in the work except the welding.
Danger Work to the following items in case of electric shock
*Once contact the position with electricity, the fatal electric shock or
heat injury will be caused.
1. Never contact electrified position.
2. Invite electric personnel to earth welding machine and parent metal according to
regulations.
3. In installation and examination and repair, must turn off the power of electric
switch box first, then the operation was made after 5 minutes.
4. Never use the cable which lacks of capacity of where conductor exposes for the
damage of insulation jacket.
5. For cable connection part, please ensure insulation.
6. Never use welding machine on the condition of dismounting machine shell.
7. Please use dry insulation glove.
8. Please use safety net at high place operation.
9. Make maintenance and examination and repair, only the damaged part can by use
until it is repaired well.
10. Please shut off all input powers when the machine is unused.
11. When use AC arc welding machine in the confined place or high place, please use
electric shock-proof device.

1. When make welding or supervise welding, please use the safety appliance with
enough shading degree.
2. Please emphasize particularly on wearing protective glasses.
3. Please wear protective glove, long sleeve clothes, welding spats, apron and other
safety appliances in welding, which are made of leather.
4. Protective barrier are set around the welding location to prevent arc light from end
angering others.
5. When noise is great, please use sound insulation apparatus.
1. To prevent gas poisoning and suffocation and other accidents, please use regulated
exhaustion facilities, and breath protection appliance is coordinated for use.
2. In operation in the confined location, please accept the examination by
supervision personnel and fully change gas and coordinate in using breath
protection appliance.
3. Never make weld within degrease, cleaning and atomization working area.
4. When weld the steel plate with electroplate or coating, the harmful dust and gas
will produce, please use protection appliance for breath.
*Arc light will cause the inflammation of eye or heat injury of skin
and other personal damages.
*Splashing and weld slag will burn eye or skin
*Noise will be harmful to hearing
Caution To avoid weald dust and gas endanger you and others,
please use safety appliance
*Weld dust and gas endanger health
*In operation in the confined location, lack of oxygen will result in suffocation.
Caution To prevent fire, explosion, cracking and other accidents from
taking place, please be sure to observe the following regulations.
*Splashing or heat parent metal just welded will cause fire.
*When current loop produce non full contact on the bad connection of cable and
steel bar and other parent metals, the heat after electrifying will be caused.
*Never weld on the container filling combustibility substance, otherwise explosion
will be caused.
*Never weld seal container, for example groove( box) , pipe, otherwise cracking
will be caused.

1. Never place combustible in the weld location.
2. Never weld near combustible gas.
3. Never close to the combustible when the heat parent metal is just welded.
4. When weld dooryard, ground and wall, please eliminate the combustible on the back.
5. The connection of cable shall surely be insulation.
6. The connection of cable of parent metal side shall approach welding position as possible.
7. Never weld the gas pipe and seal groove and so on which stores gas.
8. The fire extinguisher shall be placed near weld work location to protect against accident.
1. Please use gas bottle correctly according to regulations.
2. Please use he gas adjustor equipped or recommended by our company.
3. Please read the operation instruction for gas adjustor before use, observe precautions.
4. Please use the special gas bottle support structure to fix gas bottle.
5. Never put gas bottle in the place where temperature is high or sunlight shines directly.
6. Make sure you face keep away from the outlet of gas when the valve of gas bottle is opened.
7. Please install the gas bottle protecting jacket when the gas bottle is unused.
8. Never put welding torch on the gas bottle, electrode can not contact gas bottle.
1. Never use welding machine on the condition of dismounting machine shell.
2. Invite the professional or expert person to install, examine and repair and maintain the
welding machine.
3. Never finger, hair, clothes, etc approach cooling fan and the electrode wheel of electrode
feeding machine and other rotation positions.
1. In affirming whether the welding wire is fed, do not peek into the small hole of current
Caution To prevent gas bottle from dumping, gas adjustor from
cracking and other accidents, please be sure to observe the following
regulations.
*The dumping of gas bottle will result in personal accident.
*If gas bottle stores high pressure gas, incorrect use will cause the
ejection, thus causing personal accident.
Caution Contact of rotation position will cause injury, please
observe the following regulations
*Never ringer, hair, clothes, etc approach cooling fan and the electrode
wheel of electrode feeding machine and other rotation positions.
Caution The end of welding wire will cause injury, please be
sure to observe the following regulations
*If the welding wire emits from welding torch, the eye, face and
other exposure parts of the body will be stabbed.

contact nozzle. Otherwise welding wire will prick eye and face.
2. When welding wire is fed by hand or welding torch is opened, please do not put the end of
welding torch dose to eye, face and other exposure parts of the body.
1. In cutting work, the finger shall leave the nozzle and electrode on the end of cutting torch.
2. Never make cutting work near place where parent metal is held by hand.
3. When change nozzle and electrode, please first turn off power.
1. To prevent splashing and iron powder and so on from going in the power, please separate
weld power from weld work and snagging work.
2. To prevent insulation deterioration caused by powder accumulation, please be sure to maintain
and examine and repair regularly.
3. If splashing, iron powder, etc go in the power, please be sure to turn off power switch of
welding machine and switch of distributor case, then blow off with air.
Caution Plasma weld will result in burn, please be sure to observe the
following regulations
*Never put such any part of body as finger close to plasma work,
otherwise burn will cause.
Caution To prevent fire caused by the deterioration of insulation of welding
power, please be sure to observe the following regulations.
* If splashing produced in welding and iron powder produced in snagging work
go in the power, the deterioration of insulation will be produced, thus causing
fire

1.NBC DIGITAL SERIES WELDING MACHINE APPLICATION AND FEATURE
NBC digital series inverter gas shielded welding machine (NBC-350III, NBC-500III, NBC-630III)
is a kind of gas shielded welding high performance for semi-automatic welding digital control
welding machine, it could be doing the welding work with 0.8-1.6mm welding wire and 1.2-1.6
tubular welding wire, which are for low carbon steel and low alloy steel section. This series of
welding machine has reasonable external static and dynamic characteristics, and compared with
preceding NBC-II series welding machine, it has the following new functions and features:
Better appearance of weld, lower possibility of deformation;
Higher success rate of arc starting due to the application of lean control method;
Digital control panel, providing a friendly man-machine interface, and convenience of operation;
One-knob intelligent control system;
Spot welding;
Capability of storing 10 suites of diameter specifications;
Higher stability of power supply to wire feeder circuit.

3.OPERATION AND MANUAL
1.Front Panel
The NBC-500III is used as an example, as shown in Figure 1.

1.1 indicates a control socket, which connects a control wire.
1.2 indicates a positive terminal, which connects the welding cable from a wire feeder.
1.3 indicates a negative terminal, which connects the output cable that connects the workpiece.
1.4 indicates a control socket connecting the RD-1 digital controller. (optional)
1.5 indicates the control panel.
The control panel is used to select or set the functions and parameters of a welding machine. The
control panel displays a digital screen, adjusting knobs, buttons, and LED indicators.
1.5.1Function Selection Area

1.5.1.1Welding Wire Diameter Selection Button
The diameters including ф1.6, ф1.2, and ф1.0 are available. Corresponding indicator is on after a
diameter is selected.
1.5.1.2Adjustment Mode Adjusting Button
The adjustment modes including separate adjustment and one-knob intelligent adjustment are
available. The former indicates that current and voltage are adjusted by two different knobs on the
wire feeder controller; the latter indicates that the voltage automatically matches the given current,
and can be finely tuned by a voltage knob.
1.5.1.3Gas Check Button
After you press this button, gas starts to be transmitted and lasts for 30 seconds, during which if
you press the button again, gas transmission stops.
1.5.1.4Welding Wire Check Button
Welding wire starts to be feeded when this button is pressed, and stops being feeded when this
button is released.
This button has the same function as the inching button on the controller.
1.5.1.5Solid Wire or Tubular Wire Selection Button
1.5.1.6Working Mode Selection Button
There are three working modes, including two-steps, four-steps, and spot welding.
(1) two-steps working mode: Turn on the switch on the welding torch to start welding, and turn
off it to stop welding. This working mode is applicable to short seam welding.
(2) Four-steps working mode: Press the switch on the welding torch to start an arc, and release it
to start welding. When you press the switch again, the welding torch is under the control of
arc stopping parameters set by the knob on the front panel, and when you release the switch,
the welding torch stops working. This working mode is applicable to welding of long seams.
(3) Spot welding mode: An arc is started when you turn on the switch on the welding torch, and it
automaticlly stops when the specififed period of spot welding is expired. If you turn off the
switch within the specified period, the arc is stopped.
1.5.2Parameter Setting Area
(1) Rotary Knob of Arc Stopping Current or Spot Welding Period
At the four-steps working mode, this rotary knob is used to adjust the arc stopping current.
At the spot welding mode, this rotary knob is used to adjust the period of spot welding,
ranging from 0.5 to 5 seconds.
(2) Rotary Knob of Arc Stopping Voltage
At the four-steps working mode, this rotary knob is used to adjust the arc stopping voltage.

(3) Rotary Knob of Electrical Inductance
This rotary knob is used to change the welding stability, depth of molten pool, and quantity of
splashing droplets.
1.5.3Storage/DisplayArea
1.5.3.1Digital Tube of Passage Number Display
The digital tube displays the passage numbers ranging from 0 to 9. Users can store or invoke the
ten suites of diameter specifications based on actual demand.
(1) Passage selection: When you press the passage button repeatedly, the number changes in the
sequence of 0 to 9. Select one passage number.
(2) Storage: When you press the storage button once, the passage number blinks for three seconds,
during which if you press the button again, the current state of the control panel and welding
specifications are stored into this passage.
(3) Invoke: After you press the invoke button, the passage recording the current state of control
panel and welding specifications is invoked. At the invoke state, the PROG indicator is on,
and adjustment to the panel state or welding specifications is not allowed. When you press the
invoke button again, the passage quits the invoked state.
(4) Diameter specifications: When you turn simultaneously the arc stopping voltage knob and
electrical inductance knob and last for one second, the diameter specifications of currently
used welding wire is invoked, which is favorable for sampling and maintenance. When you
press the invoke button, the current state is quited.
1.5.3.2Digital Tube of Current Display
The digital tube displays the wire feed rate, the current, and period of spot welding.
(1) The M/min indicator is on when the digital tube displays the preset wire feed rate.
(2) The A indicator is on when the digital tube displays the current. At the no-load state, the
digital tube displays the preset current, and at the welding state, it displays the actual current.
(3) The S indicator is on when the digital tube displays the preset period of spot welding.
(4) When you turn simultaneously the arc stopping current knob and arc stopping voltage knob
and last for one second, the digital tube displays the preset current and preset wire feed rate in
turn.
1.5.3.3Digital Tube of Voltage Display
The digital tube displays the electrical inductance and voltage.
(1) The digital tube displays the value of electrical inductance, and the –indicator is on, when
you adjust the electrical inductance value, ranging from 1 to 50.
(2) The digital tube displays the voltage value, and the V indicator is on, when you adjust the

voltage value by using a controller or the arc stopping voltage knob.
At the no-load state, the digital tube displays a preset voltage, and at the welding state, it
displays the actual welding voltage.
1.5.3.4Welding State Indicator
(1)The welding indicator is on, and the digital tube displays the welding specifications, when you
adjust the parameters of welding specifications.
(2)The arc stopping indicator is on, and the digital tube displays the arc stopping specification,
when you adjust the parameters of arc stopping specifications. Three seconds after you stop
adjusting, the arc stopping indicator is off, and the digital tube displays the welding specifications.
1.5.4Functions of Combination Key
1.5.4.1Combination Key of Regulating the Time of Lead Gas Transmission Starting and Delayed
Stopping
The combination key is used to adjust the time of lead gas transmission and delayed stopping.
(1) When you press simultaneously the electrical inductance button and gas check button, the
interface displays the menu of time regulating for lead gas transmission. In this case, the
digital tube displays 811, and indicator S is on. Turn the arc stopping voltage knob to adjust
the time of lead gas transmission, which ranges from 0.01 to 9.99 seconds. Five seconds later,
the interface is recovered.
(2) Hold the electrical inductance button, and then press twice the gas check button. The interface
displays the menu of time regulating for delayed gas stopping. In this case, the digital tube
displays 812, and indicator S is on. Turn the arc stopping voltage knob to adjust the time of
delayed gas stopping, which ranges from 0.01 to 9.99 seconds. Five seconds later, the
interface is recovered.
1.5.4.2Combination Key of Regulating the Wire Feed Rate and Flashback Time
The combination key is used to regulate the wire feed rate and flashback time of welding wire of
various diameters.
(1) When you press simultaneously the electrical inductance button and welding wire diameter
button, the interface displays the menu of wire feed rate regulating. In this case, the digital
tube displays 813, and indicator M/min is on. Turn the arc stopping voltage knob to adjust the

wire feed rate, which varies with the diameter of welding wire, as shown below.
welding wire of a diameter 0.8: 0.5 to 2.9 M/min;
welding wire of a diameter 1.0: 0.5 to 2.9 M/min;
welding wire of a diameter 1.2: 0.5 to 4.2 M/min;
welding wire of a diameter 1.6: 0.5 to 2.9 M/min.
Five seconds later, the interface is recovered.
(2) Hold the electrical inductance button, and then press twice the welding wire diameter button.
The interface displays the menu of flashback time regulating. In this case, the digital tube
displays 810, and indicator S is on. Turn the arc stopping voltage knob to adjust the flashback
time, which ranges from 0.01 to 2.00 seconds. Five seconds later, the interface is recovered.
1.5.4.3Combination Key of Handover of Displaying the Preset Current and Preset Wire Feed Rate
The combination key is used to hand over the displaying of preset current and preset wire feed
rate.
(1) When you press simultaneously the arc stopping current button and arc stopping voltage
button, and hold them for one second, the digital tube displays the preset current and preset
wire feed rate in turn.
1.5.4.4Combination Key of Invoking the Specifications of Current Diameter
The combination key is used to invoke the diameter specifications of the welding wire being used.
(1) When you press simultaneously the arc stopping voltage button and electrical inductance
button, and hold them for one second, the diameter specifications of the welding wire being
used are invoked, which is favorable for sampling and maintenance. Press the invoke button
to quit.
1.5.4.5Combination Key of Restoring to Factory Settings
The combination key is used to restore the welding parameters to factory settings.
(1) When you turn simultaneously the arc stopping current knob and electrical inductance knob,
and hold for three seconds, welding parameters are restored to factory settings.
2.Rear Panel (see figure 3)

(1) Heating Power Supply Outlet (AC36V)
The outlet connects the heater coil of the CO2regulator.
(2) Fans
The fans cool down the heating components inside the welding machine.
Note: The fans do not work immediately after the welding machine is powered on. Instead, they
start working when you start welding, and stop working 15 minutes after you stop welding.
(3) Power Supply Input Cable
The machine must be fitted with a reliable grounding using the floral wire. The other three wires
connect the three-phase 380V/50Hz power supply. The following table shows the cable
specifications.

(4) Ground Bolt
To ensure personal safety and normal operating condition, the ground wire (floral) in the input
cable must be grounded in a reliable manner, or the bolt must be grounded using the ground cable
specified in the table above.
(5) Automatic Air Switch
This switch is automatically powered off when the welding machine is overloaded or faulty, so as
to ensure personal safety and protect major components. Generally, this switch is turned on by
being pushed upwards. Do not use this switch to power on or off the welding machine; instead,
use the power supply switch on the power distribution board (cabinet).

3.Controller
The controller is installed on the wire feeder. Figure 4 shows the panel.
(1) Current Adjusting Knob
The knob is used to adjust the welding current.
(2) Manual Wire Feeding Knob
The knob is used to feed wire quickly.
(3) VoltageAdjusting Knob
At the separate adjustment mode, the knob is used to adjust the welding voltage;
At the one-knob intelligent adjustment mode, the sign on the knob must be directed at "standard".
You can finely tune the voltage within a range of +/-8V by turning the knob slightly to left or
right.
4.RD-I Digital Controller
The controller is optional. To use this controller, plug the control plug into the control socket as
shown in figure (1) 1.4. For details on the usage, see Instructions to RD-I Digital Controller.
Note: Once RD-I digital controller is installed, the adjustment function of the original controller
(as shown in figure 4) and control panel (figure 2) will fail. All parameters are adjusted by the
RD-I digital controller.
4.Others
