1 Safety Precautions
General Safety
Personnel who plan to install or maintain Huawei equipment must receive a thorough training,
understand all necessary safety precautions, and be able to correctly perform all operations.
Only certified personnel are allowed to remove safety facilities and inspect the
equipment.
Only personnel certified or authorized by Huawei are allowed to replace devices or
components (including software).
Any fault or error that might cause safety problems must be reported immediately to a
supervisor.
Read this document thoroughly before operations. Huawei shall not be liable for any device
damage caused by violation of the storage, transportation, installation, and operation
regulations specified in this document.
The safety precautions provided in this document do not cover all the safety precautions.
Huawei shall not be liable for any consequence caused by the violation of the safety operation
regulations and design, production, and usage standards.
Local Laws and Regulations
Follow local laws and regulations when operating equipment. The safety instructions in this
document are only supplements to local laws and regulations.
Grounding
Equipment to be grounded must meet the following requirements:
When installing equipment, connect the protective earthing (PE) cable first. When
removing equipment, disconnect the PE cable last.
Do not damage the ground conductor.
Do not operate equipment in the absence of a properly installed ground conductor.
Equipment must be connected permanently to the PE point before an operation.

2
Before operating equipment, check the electrical connection of the equipment to ensure
that it is securely grounded.
Personal Safety
To avoid electric shocks, ensure that AC INPUT andAC OUTPUT connections are not
reversed.
Before operating equipment, remove any conductors such as jewelry and watches to
avoid electric shock or burns.
For personal safety during operation and maintenance, insulation gloves and safety shoes
must be put on.
Use tools in correct methods to avoid hurting people or damaging devices.
In the case of a fire, immediately leave the building or the equipment area, and turn on
the fire alarm bell or make an emergency call. Never enter the building on fire in any
case.
When the operation is performed in a damp environment, ensure that the equipment is
dry. When water is found in the cabinet or the cabinet is damp, switch off the power
supply immediately.
Equipment Security
Before operation, ensure that the equipment is firmly anchored to the floor or other solid
objects, such as a wall or an installation rack.
Use a tool to tighten screws when installing components.
After the installation, remove the packing materials from the equipment area.
High voltage
High-voltage power is supplied to equipment. Direct contact with the high-voltage power
or indirect contact through damp objects is fatal.
Non-standard and improper operations will result in fire or electric shocks.
The installation and operation of high-voltage AC equipment must be performed only by
certified personnel.
Comply with local laws and regulations when bridging and routingAC cables.
When operating AC equipment, follow local laws and regulations.
Use dedicated tools when performing high voltage andAC operations.
Put on insulation gloves before powering on or off cabinets.

3
Do not connect or disconnect power cables under power. Transient contact between the core
wire of a power cable and the conductor will generate electric arcs or sparks, which may
cause fire or personal injury.
Before installing or removing a power cable, turn off the upstream power switch, and use
a multimeter to check that theAC voltage of the input port is zero.
Before connecting a power cable, check that the label on the power cable is correct.
Do not connect a single-phase AC power cable reversely. Otherwise, equipment may be
damaged.
Component
To ensure the safe operation of equipment, replace a faulty component with a component of
the same type and specifications.

2 Overview
2.1 Introduction
Function
The SmartACBox combines the AC outputs from single-phase string inverters. The
SmartACBox works with Huawei SUN2000L and combines the outputs from the following
types of SUN2000Ls:
Up to 12 SUN2000L-4.125KTL-JP units
Up to 10 SUN2000L-4.95KTL-JP units
The SUN2000L-4.125KTL-JP and SUN2000L-4.95KTL-JP are both abbreviated as SUN2000L in the
following text.
The SmartACBox is embedded with a SmartLogger that connects to Huawei SUN2000L over
RS485 to collect data from SUN2000Ls, so that the SUN2000Ls can be managed in a
centralized manner. The user purchases and installs a 3G/4G router and connects the router to
the 3G/4G network over which the collected SUN2000L data is uploaded to the cloud server.
The utility company remotely controls SUN2000Ls through the obtained SUN2000L data file.

2.4 Working Principles
The SmartACBox works with Huawei SUN2000L. It combines the outputs from up to 12
SUN2000L-4.125KTL-JP units or 10 SUN2000L-4.95KTL-JP units and provides surge
protection and overcurrent protection. In addition, the SmartACBox is embedded with a
SmartLogger that forms a monitoring system by working with the router purchased and
installed by users. The monitoring system uploads collected SUN2000Linformation to the
cloud server in order to monitor SUN2000Ls in real time.
Figure 2-8 shows the SmartACBox working principles by using the access from 12
SUN2000L-4.125KTL-JP units as an example.
