Multi Mover
Appropriate use
The Multi Mover is a lifting gear for lifting/ lowering and relocation/displacing only
TOPMAX slab tables with attachment parts.
Allowed is only the transport of a single TOPMAX slab table with connected supporting
system up to a height of maximum 7,500 mm including the
TOPMAX slab table. However, the maximum load of the Multi Mover of 1,000 kg
including the stacking frame are to be observed.
The transport of several TOPMAX slab tables at the same time, or the transport of
TOPMAX slab tables with attachment parts is not admissible, or requires a special static
proof.
The two outriggers must be extended from a load height of 3,500 mm above floor level.
In order to ensure proper operation, the Multi Mover is to be checked by a
qualified and trained person prior to utilisation.
A load-bearing, solid, non-skid and level ground must be present (e.g. a dry
concrete floor without ridges and edges, without open shafts for cable and pipe
systems or overground cables, pipes or other material.
Openings in the ground of the place of use must be closed with a surface
impeding shifting and of sufficient bearing capacity.
The travel distance must be kept clean and free from obstacles.
The travel distance must be horizontal; it is not allowed to drive with load on
ascending or descending slopes (longitudinal or transverse direction).
The maximum travel speed without load in lengthwise travel (normal travel) is 3
km/h, and with transverse travel (parallel travel) 2 km/h.
The travel speed with load must be reduced self-dependent such that the Multi
Mover does not tip over and the TOPMAX slab tables cannot shift.
Any improper use is forbidden.
No liability is assumed for changes on the Multi Mover without permission of the
manufacturer.
The Multi Mover must be submitted to a yearly check by an expert person. The
check must be documented in writing and indicated on the Multi Mover with a test
badge.
Further regulations must be observed for facilitating a designated use.
oTOPMAX instructions for assembly and use (A&U) from company
Hünnebeck
oEffective occupational safety and accident prevention regulations
oOperating instructions of the operating company
oVDMA Rules for operating companies of floor-level conveyors

The operating company must regularly train the employees dealing with the
Multi Mover, provide information about regulations and risks, and to punish
infringement of the regulations.
The operating company must clearly structure and define the responsibilities
regarding operation, maintenance, check, repair and servicing of the Multi
Mover.
The operating company must obtain information on the valid industrial safety
regulations, and to determine by means of risk assessment the additional risks
resulting from the special working conditions at the operating site of the Multi
Mover. These must be converted into operating instructions for operating the
Multi Mover.
During the entire time of application of the Multi Mover, the operating company
has to check if the operating instructions he has established meet the current
state and to make adjustments, if required.

Dangerous situations at the Multi Mover
The Multi Mover must never be used for transporting persons.
Abusively transported persons may suffer severe injuries, which might result in
death.
Any work on electrical systems is only allowed to be carried out by qualified
electricians.
When touching live parts there is the immediate risk of fatal injury.
In case the insulation or electric components are damaged, the power
supply must be switched off immediately and repair must be arranged
(remove key switch or press EMERGENCY STOP button).
Before starting any work on the electrical system, switch it off and check if it
is de-energised.
Before any maintenance, cleaning and repair works, switch the power
supply off and secure it against reactivation (remove start key).
Do not bypass or render fuses inoperative.
Keep humidity away from live parts.
DANGER
By wrongful transport of persons.
From electrical current
DANGER
DANGER
The Multi Mover must only be operated by one single person, never by several at the
same time.
Avoid any intervention in danger zones. The danger zones on the Multi Mover are
marked.

Dangerous situations at the Multi Mover
Details are listed in this operating manual and must be observed.
The following environmentally dangerous substances are used in the Multi Mover.
See also operating manual page 33:
Lubricants for moving parts
Hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic system
Lead-acid batteries
Considerable ecological damage can develop, when incorrectly dealing with
environmentally hazardous substances, specifically in case of incorrect disposal.
Appropriate disposal of environmentally hazardous substances must be ensured by
the operating company.
If environmentally hazardous substances have inadvertently reached the
environment, appropriate measures are to be taken immediately to prevent
ecological damages.
The environmental protection officer of the operating company is to be informed. He
decides if it is required to inform the competent local authority due to his knowledge
of the Environmental Protection Act and the existing facts.
NOTE
Prevent environmental damage
DANGER
By falling loads or tilting of the Multi Mover because of
operating errors, inadequate travel speed,
inappropriate ground and not centric load or overload.

Each time before starting the Multi Mover the visual check has to be carried out as
follows:
Check of the safety devices and safety labels
Check of the steering device
Check of horn and lighting
Check for visible external damages
Visually check screw connections of the extension mechanism of the tower at
all three levels (1) all around for tight seat,
in case of anomalies do also check mechanically
Attention:
The Multi Mover is only allowed to be put into operation if the visual check is positive.
Otherwise it is required to inform the trained and qualified personnel.

Transport of the Multi Mover
Transport by crane:
Crane hooks are only allowed to be hooked into the red marked crane eyes on the
tower. For transportation by crane, all four crane eyes of the Multi Mover are to be
connected with the lifting gear (use three-fold crane suspension). The bearing loads
of the crane suspension must be observed, and jerky moves and bumps are to
avoided during lifting and setting down.
Transport by truck:
Lashing must only be carried out on the red marked crane eyes.
Transport by forklift truck:
The outriggers (see operating manual page 20) have to be removed, because the
outrigger pockets can be used as fork pockets. Always both outrigger pockets (left &
right side) have to be used at the same time.
Crane eyes
NOTE
For transport the tower must always be retracted for
not becoming damaged.

Multi Mover
Safety devices
The Multi Mover is fitted with a back-up safety switch (1) and two EMERGENCY
STOP buttons (2).
Back-up safety switch:
The back-up safety switch (1) is located on the draw-bar, at the front end of the
steering and operating element. The back-up safety switch is only active when
travelling backwards.
The back-up safety switch responds by contact pressure, the effect is that the Multi
Mover stops immediately, and then travels forward during the time of activation.
This prevents the user from becoming jammed, e.g. to a rear wall.
The two EMERGENCY STOP buttons (2) are located at the tower guide and on the
control element of the draw-bar.
By pressing the EMERGENCY STOP button (2), all movements of the Multi Mover
are stopped immediately. The Multi Mover remains in this frozen position until it is
restarted.
Restart:
This requires to move the EMERGENCY STOP button (2) back to its initial position.
Thereafter the Multi Mover must be restarted with the start key (see operating
manual, page 14).

Travel speed regulation
The travel speed of the Multi Mover is now continuously regulated with the rotary
regulator (1).
Depending on the chosen travel direction,
the Multi Mover travels forward or backward.
Attention:
With steering movements, the travel speed is automatically
reduced.
Braking
When releasing the rotary regulator (1), it goes automatically back to centre position.
The Multi Mover is braked until standstill.
Steering during forward travel
Steering of the Multi Mover is carried out by angling the draw-bar.
With a left-side angle the Multi Mover travels to the left.
With a right-side angle the Multi Mover travels to the right.
Steering during reverse travel
For reverse travel steering is analogous.
Draw-bar left = travel direction left
Draw-bar right = travel direction right
