Husqvarnavehiclesaredesignedandbuilttoprovidetheultimateinperformanceefciency;however,proper
maintenanceandrepairareessentialforachievingmaximumservicelifeandcontinuedsafeandreliableoperation.

techniciansshouldbecomefamiliarwiththesegeneralsafetystatements.Also,otherspecicsafetystatementsappear

DANGER
•Battery–Explosivegases!Donotsmoke.Keepsparksandamesawayfromthevehicleandservice
area.Ventilatewhenchargingoroperatingvehicleinanenclosedarea.Wearafullfaceshieldand
rubbergloveswhenworkingonornearbatteries.
•Battery–Poison!Containsacid!Causessevereburns.Avoidcontactwithskin,eyes,orclothing.
Antidotes:
–External:Flushwithwater.Callaphysicianimmediately.
–Internal:Drinklargequantitiesofmilkorwater.Followwithmilkofmagnesiaorvegetable

•Wearsafetyglassesorapprovedeyeprotectionwhenservicingthevehicle.Wearafullfaceshieldand
rubbergloveswhenworkingonornearbatteries.

•Ifwiresareremovedorreplaced,makesurewiringandwireharnessareproperlyroutedandsecured.
Failuretoproperlyrouteandsecurewiringcouldresultinvehiclemalfunction,propertydamage,
personalinjury,ordeath.
•Forvehicleswithcargobeds,removeallcargobeforeraisingthebedorservicingthevehicle.Ensure
thatthebedlockingpinissecurelyengagedwhilebedisraised.Donotclosebeduntilallpersonsare
clearofcargobedarea.Keephandsclearofallcrushareas.Donotdropcargobed;lowergentlyand

PREPARINGTHEVEHICLEFOREXTENDEDSTORAGE
1.Unloadthevehiclesothatthetiresaresupportingonlytheweightofthevehicle.
2.Storethevehicleinacool,dryplace.Thiswillminimizebatteryself-discharge.Ifthebatteryappearstobeweak,
haveitchargedbyatrainedtechnician.Useanautomotive-type12-voltbatterychargerratedat10ampsorless.
Checkelectrolytelevelafterchargingandadddistilledwaterifnecessary.
3.MakesurethekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionandtheForward/ReversehandleisintheNEUTRALposition.
Chockthewheels.
4.Preparethefueltank.
4.1.Fillthetankwithfreshfuel.
4.2.Followingthemanufacturer’sdirections,addacommerciallyavailablefuelstabilizer(suchasSta-Bil®).Run
theengineinawell-ventilatedareatoallowtreatedfueltoreplaceuntreatedfuelinthecarburetor.
4.3.Turnthefuelshut-offvalve(1)totheclosed(OFF)position(Figure3-2,Page3-3).
