FAM with AquaSensor Description
Description
With the AquaSensor AS2000 offers you have the option of an automatic dedusting
of the fluid up to a particular water content/saturation level.
The dedusting of the medium takes place thereby automatically. The AS2000 takes
over control of the FAM.
Measuring system
The AquaSensor AS2000 continuously measures the saturation level and the
temperature of the fluid suctioned in by the FAM.
The saturation level indicates what percent of maximum possible water is dissolved
in the oil.
Where:
0% water-free oil
100% oil that is completely saturated with water
The measuring system is comprised of a measurement probe (Fig. 1.1) built into the
suction tract of the FAM and a transducer with display and control elements
(Fig.1.2) fitted on the carriage (depending on the unit).

FAM with AquaSensor Operation

BEWA FAM Zusatz AS2000 3139117c en de 2008-12-02.doc 2008-12-02
Operation
Thanks to the AquaSensor, the FAM can, in addition to normal operation, also be
used for controlling the FAM.
The saturation level to be achieved is to be entered on the AquaSensor for this
purpose, and the purification operation continues until the limit value has been
reached.
The objective while doing so must always be to achieve a water content far below
the saturation point.
Experience shows that a value less than 40% is expedient for this purpose.
Setting the saturation level to be achieved
Der AS2000 has two switch outputs:
1x Saturation level -> Switching output 1
1x Temperature -> Switching output 2
The low threshold for the saturation level LO1
The high threshold for the saturation level HI1
The low threshold for the temperature LO2
The upper threshold for the temperature HI2
The lower limit value LO1 represents the saturation level setting to be achieved
during operations with the FAM.
Set the upper limit value HI1 to 000.1.
Setting HI1 and LO1
The limit value LO1 and HI1 is set in the ALArmenu.
After the code has been entered in the main menu (a code must be established in
the ProG menu for newly delivered units), the A L A rmenu can be selected using
the =-key and confirmed by pressing down on set for a prolonged time.
The display jumps to the first menu option LO1. Here the saturation level to be
achieved is set using the =and ;keys. The position that can be currently modified
flashes in the display. The value can be modified by pressing the =key. The
position is changed with the ;key.
Confirm the set value by pressing down the set button for a prolonged period.
The display now jumps to HI1. Enter the value 000.1 here and confirm with the set
key (held down for a prolonged time).
Exit the setting mode by repeatedly pressing the set key briefly.

FAM with AquaSensor Operation
Activating the automatic switch-off
The following message is shown in the display after the FAM has been switched on
using the Start key
I .
Now the AUX key
A
UX
can be used to switch over to the controlled mode. The
following now appears in the display:
The automatic switch-off via the AquaSensor is not enabled until a "minimum
running time prior to automatic switch-off" (preset to 10 minutes) has elapsed. The
FAM continues to run after this time until the saturation value LO1 that has been set
is reached. Afterwards, the unit switches off.
K4 = Time for minimum running time before automatic
shutdown.
This setting is determined- for the AS2000 and may not
be changed!
K5 = Time to turn back on.
This can be modified to any setting.
Fig. 2.1
If the unit is not moved to another tank at once, then it will switch itself back on
again after a preselected "Switching back on time". This time can be also modified
to suit in the control cabinet by means of a delayed-action relay. This time can be
set to infinity (∞) if restarting is to be suppressed. To change back from automatic
shutdown mode to normal operation, simply press the start boutton.
Both modes can be stopped directly with the Stop key
O
.
