The manufacturer will not be liable and responsible for any direct, indirect,
incidental or consequential damages due to any defect or omission in the
operations manual. The manufacturer reserves the right to alter the content in the
operations manual as well as the products without any notification. Please contact
the manufacturer to request the latest and revised editions of the operations
manual.
Unpacking, setting, installing and operating of the product require comprehensive
knowledge and understanding of the entire operations manual. Please take note to
all danger, warning and notice signs and details. Negligence of the danger, warning
and notice signs could increase the risk of serious injury to the product’s operator
or even inflicting damage to the products. Do not install, calibrate or operate this
product in any manner other than that specified in the operations manual.

2.3. Safety Precautions
It’s vitally important to take safety precautions during the installation, operation and
calibration of sensors and controllers. Safety must not be compromised; some
ground rules need to be followed first. The basic guidelines regarding the safe
handling of electrical components are documented below will help users while
working with electricity.
2.3.1. Handling by authorized personnel
The instrument must be operated by trained personnel and technical
personnel.
2.3.2. Environmental condition consideration
In order to prevent irreparable component damage, the instrument must be
installed in room temperature with low humidity, no corrosivity and no direct
sunlight exposure.
2.3.3. Component isolation
The signal cables in the instrument should be separated from the power
lines and machines that produces high noise interference which affects the
performance of the controller significantly.
2.3.4. Elimination of unsafe acts and conditions
During installation and operation of the instrument, never use frayed cords,
damaged insulation or broken plugs. Always use insulated tools while
working. Do not connect AC power to a 24VDC powered model and vice
versa.
Limitations
The warranty doesnot cover defectsor malfunction causedby misuse, abuse or improper
maintenance, failure to follow operating instructions, or use with equipment which it is not
intended to be used. It doesn’t cover cosmetic or incidental damages. Also, the warranty
will not apply to damage caused by unauthorized alteration, modification or repair of the
product.

Installation
pH / ORP Analyzer 5
4.0 Installation
This part describes how to install the controller and how to connect the unit to a
power source and auxiliary equipment.
Wiring Installation
The specified performance of the controller is entirely dependent on correct
installation. For this reason, the installer should thoroughly read the following
instructions before attempting to make any electrical connections to the unit.
DANGER!
Electrocution Hazard; Do not connect AC power to a 24VDC
powered model and vice versa. Always avoid water when
working with electricity. Never touch or try repairing any
electrical parts or circuits with wet hands. It increases the
conductivity of the electric current.
WARNING!
Always remove the main power from the system before
attempting any alterations to the wiring. Ensure that both power
input lines are isolated. Make sure that the power cannot be
switched on by accident whilst the unit is being connected. Local
wiring and safety regulations should be strictly adhered to when
installing this unit.
4.1. Electrical Construction
The controller operates with a main switch. Hence, the controller operates
immediately once connected to the power supply. The result can be observed via
the display panel. The controller features two actuators (relays) which provide
control functions. Moreover, the relays are designed to activate metering pumps
and solenoid valves. The activation variables are recalculated every second.
The controller comes in two different variants; P38 which runs with 90~260VAC
power supply, and P38-DC which runs with 24VDC power supply.

4.2. Sensor Connection
Extension of sensor cable
If the user chooses to extend the sensor cable, please ensure the extension cable is
coaxial type and is in good condition.
For sensors without a built-in pre-amplifier (e.g. Conventional Combination Sensor), it is
highly recommended to install an external pre-amplifier into any cable connection
exceeding 25m to ensure excellent reading accuracy and consistency of the sensor.
Removal of Conductive Layer
The user must ensure the pH cable is separated from the Reference cable. Moreover,
the conductive layer covering the pH cable must be removed in order to isolate the pH
circuit connection from the Reference. Otherwise, the sensor will display incorrect
readings.

4.2.1. Conventional Combination Sensor Without Grounding
Electrode (2-Wire Sensor)
The 2-Wire Sensor features an Active Electrode (pH) and a Reference Electrode
(Ref.). The Temperature Electrode (Temp. or T/P) is an optional feature of the
sensor for temperature compensation. Since the 2-Wire Sensor does not feature a
Grounding Electrode, the short pin is required in this setup.

4.2.2. Conventional Combination Sensor With Grounding
Electrode (3-Wire Sensor)
The 3-Wire Sensor features an Active Electrode (pH), a Reference Electrode (Ref.)
and a Grounding Electrode (GND) to eliminate noise / disturbance in the process
medium. The Temperature Electrode (Temp. or T/P) is an optional feature of the
sensor for temperature compensation. Since the 3-Wire Sensor features a
Grounding Electrode, the short pin is not required in this setup.

4.2.3. Differential Sensor
Differential Sensor features an Active Electrode (pH), a Reference Electrode (Ref.),
a built-in Grounding Electrode to eliminate noise / disturbance and a built-in
Temperature Electrode for temperature compensation. The sensor also features a
built-in pre-amplifier which enables an installation exceeding 25m cable length
while maintaining excellent reading accuracy and consistency. The short pin is
required in this setup.
