The Fine series armchairs should not be used without previously reading this manual and strictly
complying with the instructions it contains. IMO - Indústrias Metalúrgicas, S.A. is not responsible
for injuries or material damage resulting from failure to comply with the safety warnings described
herein. Any serious incident that has occurred in relation to the device should be reported to the
manufacturer and the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and/or patient
is established. The instructions contained in this manual should be conjugated with the procedures
of the health care teams, being conditioned to them.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Usage and Functionalities
When making movements with any moving part of the armchair, ensure that no object or part of
the human body is between its parts.
All movements should be carried out with the chair in the locked position, with the armrests in a
horizontal position and the footrest down.
Transfers of patients should be carried out with the chair in the locked position and the sections
reclined.
When transporting patients in the chair, make sure the armrests are in a horizontal position.
The chair is designed for transportation by one caregiver only, use the seat recline to find the best
position for the patient and caregiver.
It is strongly inadvisable to sit on the armrests of the chair, as well as exert any other form of
excessive strain.
The legrest is designed to support the weight of the patient's legs and it is not recommended to
put any extra load on them, such as sitting down or putting down heavy objects.
Accessories
Only use IMO accessories. Accessories from other manufacturers may cause unpredictable
damage.
When reclining and transporting the wheelchair, make sure that the accessories do not collide
with the wheelchair or any other object in the building.
Before reclining the back of the chair, check that the accessories are installed in the correct
position.
Cleaning
The use of the following products for cleaning the bed is not recommended:
oAbrasive or aggressive objects.
oAcids, alkaline products or solvents, such as acetone or cellulose solvent.
oSodium hypochlorite-based solutions.
oSteam cleaners.
Assistance
The armchair must not be used if any malfunction or fault is detected which could endanger the
integrity of the user or technical personnel as well as the armchair itself.
Only qualified personnel should be allowed to service the chair. If any anomaly is detected and
after checking that no object is obstructing its correct operation, request assistance.
The armchairs are designed to use only spare parts supplied by IMO.
Do not modify any components without authorisation from IMO.

Scope
This manual and the instructions it contains apply to hospital armchairs of the 591 series, with trade name
Fine and basic UDI-DI 5600717213FINEUZ and its corresponding optionals.
The Fine chair is a hydraulically operated medical device for use on wards and for therapeutic purposes.
It is intended for use in continuous care and outpatient settings.
Objective
This manual is intended to provide users with:
Information on the procedures necessary for correct assistance and repair of faults;
Fault finding diagrams;
Parts lists and identification of the product's components;
The actions and procedures relating to product maintenance.
This manual is part of the product documentation. It does not deal with matters described in the other
manuals; therefore, this manual is to be considered as a supplement to the "Operations Manual".
Legal constraints, compliance and registration
The Fine hospital armchairs are registered by INFARMED - Autoridade Nacional do Medicamento e
Produtos de Saúde, I.P., with the certificate number 125/DM/2017/01/217 under the scope of Class I
Medical Devices.
They follow the provisions of the Regulation of the European Parliament 2017/745/EU, as well as the
following applicable standards:
