Requirements
• Host PC with an available USB Type-C®port (to ensure full dock functionality, the host USB Type-C®
port must support USB Power Delivery and DisplayPort®Alt Mode or Thunderbolt®3
Note: The docking station can still connect to a host computer with a USB Type-C®port that does not
support Power Delivery (must still support DisplayPort®Alt Mode). In this configuration, the docking
station will not provide power to your host computer.
• Available AC electrical outlet
• HDMI®and DisplayPort®enabled displays with cable as needed (for additional
external display)
• 4K-capable displays are required to achieve 4K resolutions

Starting up
Install the Driver!
Caution: Do not connect the DockingStation to your computer before installing the driver from the
download area of: https://www.displaylink.com/downloads
Windows®:
A. Download the correct driver from webpage above.
B. Click on “Run Setup.exe”.
C. Follow the instructions and finish the driver installation.
D. Connect the DockingStation to a supported USB Type-C®or USB 3.0 Type-A port on the PC.
E. Restart the PC.
F. The IB-DK2244AC is ready to be used.
macOS®:
A. Download the correct driver from webpage above.
B. Run the file Mac_driver\ driver.dmg by double click.
C. Follow the instructions and finish the driver installation.
D. Connect the DockingStation to a supported USB Type-C®or USB 3.0 Type-A port on the
macOS®computer.
E. Restart the computer.
F. The IB-DK2244AC is ready to be used.

USB Type-C®
Not all USB Type-C®ports support the full functionality of the USB Type-C®standard. Some ports might
only provide data transfer without supporting Power Delivery or DP Alt Mode over USB.
To use this dock to its full potential, ensure that the host USB Type-C®port of your computer supports USB Power Delivery,
DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt®3. Please consult your host PC documentation or contact the PC manufacturer to confirm
compatibility with these technologies. For safety, check whether the host PC Bios Version is the latest or not and
confirm compatibility with USB Type-C®Power Delivery and/or DP Alt Mode before application.
Information about the attached USB Type-C®to Type-A adapter.
For better connection compatibility with host computers that only have a USB 3.0 Type-A interface, we have added an
additional USB Type-C®to Type-A adapter attached to the cable. Should you wish to use this adapter on your computer,
please note the following technical restriction when using the docking station via a Type-A port: In this case the Type-A
interface does in no way support DisplayPort®Alt Mode, which is a prerequisite for the HDMI®3 interface to function
and the Power Delivery charging option.
Attention!
In case your computer supports only the DP Alt Mode protocol, and DisplayLink®drivers
are not installed:
- Only Display 3 (3840x2160@30 Hz) interface can be used.
In case your computer does not support the DP Alt Mode protocol, and only USB 3.0 and
installed DisplayLink®drivers are available:
- Only Display 1 (3840x2160@60 Hz) and Display 2 (3840x2160@60 Hz) interfaces can be used.
In case your computer supports both, the DP Alt Mode protocol and USB 3.0 with installed
DisplayLink®drivers:
- Display 1 (3840x2160@60 Hz), Display 2 (3840x2160@60 Hz) and Display 3 (3840x2160@30 Hz) interfaces can
be used.

Monitor connections
Connection of one computer to DisplayPort®or HDMI®monitors
You can set up three displays by using the video output ports of the IB-DK2244AC (2x DisplayPort®or 3x HDMI®or
mixed).
Connect your monitors to the DisplayPort® (2) /HDMI®(3) interfaces by using certified DisplayPort®/ HDMI®cables (not
included).
It is recommended to use monitors of the same size, type and resolution. Same monitor type means that
the monitors have the same native resolution and display refresh rate.
Connection of one computer to one 5K DisplayPort®monitor
You can set up one 5K display by using the two video output ports 1 and 2 of your IB-DK2244AC (2x DisplayPort®).
Connect your supported 5K monitor to both DisplayPort®interfaces by using certified DisplayPort®cables (not included).
Note: The DockingStation is compatible with most 5K-enabled monitors on the market. Please refer to
http://www.displaylink.com/downloads to download the latest driver for better compatibility.
Please set up your display settings according to your operating system and requirements. For detailed information of your
operating system, consult the respective operation manual and description of your operating system.

Supported video resolutions
The DockingStation supports 3x 4K@30/60 Hz Ultra HD resolution if the connected DisplayPort®/ HDMI®displays
support it (up to 3840x2160@30/60 Hz /each).

Anforderungen
• Host Computer mit freier USB Type-C®Schnittstelle (um den vollen Funktionsumfang zu gewährleis-
ten, muss der verwendete USB Type-C®Anschluss USB Power Delivery und den DisplayPort®Alt
Mode oder Thunderbolt®3 unterstützen).
Hinweis: Die Dockingstation kann auch an Host Computer mit USB Type-C®Schnittstelle OHNE
Power Delivery Unterstützung genutzt werden (DisplayPort®Alt Mode wird weiterhin benötigt). In
diesem Falle kann das Notebook NICHT über die Type-C®Schnittstelle mit Strom versorgt werden.

Nicht alle USB Type-C®Schnittstellen am Markt unterstützen den vollen Funktionsumfang des USB Type-C®Standards.
Einige Schnittstellen ermöglichen unter Umständen lediglich Datenübertragung, aber eventuell keine Videoübertragung
oder Stromversorgung über USB.
Um das volle Potential der IB-DK2244AC ausschöpfen zu können, vergewissern Sie sich, dass Ihre Host USB Type-C®
Schnittstelle den DP Alt Mode und USB Power Delivery oder Thunderbolt®3 Type-C®unterstützt.
Bitte ziehen Sie die Dokumentation Ihres Hostcomputers zu Rate oder wenden Sie sich an den PCHersteller, um die
Kompatibilität mit den genannten Technologien zu bestätigen. Prüfen Sie zur Sicherheit, ob die BIOS-Version des Host-
computers die aktuellste ist und bestätigen Sie vor der Anwendung die Kompatibilität mit USB Type-C®Power Delivery
und/oder DP Alt Mode.
Informationen zum zusätzlichen USB Type-C®zu Type-A Adapter
Für eine bessere Anschlusskompatibilität mit Host-Computern, die nur über eine USB 3.0 Type-A Schnittstelle verfügen,
haben wir einen zusätzlichen USB Type-C®zu Type-A Adapter dem Verpackungsinhalt hinzugefügt. Sollten Sie diesen
Adapter an Ihrem Computer verwenden wollen, beachten Sie bitte folgende technische Einschränkung bei der Verwen-
dung der DockingStation über einen Type-A Anschluss: Der Type-A Anschluss unterstützt in diesem Fall in keiner Weise
den DisplayPort®Alt Mode, der für die Funktion der HDMI®Schnittstelle 3 und die Power Delivery Lademöglichkeit
Voraussetzung ist.
Achtung!
Sollte Ihr Computer lediglich das DP Alt Mode Protokoll unterstützen und keine Display-
Link®Treiber installiert sein:
- so steht nur der Display 3 (3840x2160@30 Hz) Anschluss zur Verfügung.
Sollte Ihr Computer das DP Alt Mode Protokoll nicht unterstützen und lediglich über USB
3.0 und installierte DisplayLink®Treiber verfügen:
- so stehen die Display 1 (3840x2160@60 Hz) und Display 2 (3840x2160@60 Hz) Anschlüsse zur Verfügung.
Sollte Ihr Computer sowohl das DP Alt Mode Protokoll als auch USB 3.0 mit installierten
DisplayLink®Treibern unterstützen:
- so stehen die Display 1 (3840x2160@60 Hz), Display 2 (3840x2160@60 Hz) und Display 3 (3840x2160@30 Hz)
Anschlüsse zur Verfügung.

Monitorverbindungen
Zwei DisplayPort®oder drei HDMI®Monitore mit einem Computer verbinden.
Sie können zwei DisplayPort®oder drei HDMI®Monitore hinzufügen, indem Sie diese an die Videoschnittstellen der
IB-DK2244AC (2x DisplayPort®oder 3x HDMI®oder gemischt) anschließen. Verbinden Sie die DisplayPort®/ HDMI®
Monitore unter Verwendung von zertifizierten DisplayPort®/HDMI®Kabeln (nicht enthalten).
Es wird empfohlen, Monitore der gleichen Größe, Auflösung und des gleichen Typs zum Anschluss zu verwenden. Glei-
cher Typ bedeutet, dass die Geräte über die gleiche native Auflösung und Bildwiederholrate verfügen.
Einen 5K DisplayPort®Monitor mit einem Computer verbinden
Sie können einen 5K DisplayPort®Monitor hinzufügen, indem Sie diesen an die Videoschnittstellen 1 und 2 der
IB-DK2244AC (2x DisplayPort®) anschließen.
Verbinden Sie den DisplayPort®Monitor unter Verwendung von zertifizierten DisplayPort®Kabeln (nicht enthalten).
Hinweis: Die DockingStation ist kompatibel mit den meisten 5K-fähigen DisplayPort®Monitoren am Markt. Bitte prüfen
Sie auch von Zeit zu Zeit unter http://www.displaylink.com/downloads, ob Sie den neuesten Treiber von DisplayLink®
installiert haben.
Zur optimalen Einstellung Ihrer Anzeigeeinheiten gehen Sie bitte entsprechend Ihres Betriebssystems und Ihrer Bedürfnisse
vor. Genauere Informationen entnehmen Sie bitte dem Handbuch und Beschreibungen Ihres Betriebssystems.

Unterstützte Videoauflösungen
Die IB-DK2244AC unterstützt 3x 4K@30/60 Hz Ultra HD Auflösungen, wenn die angeschlossenen DisplayPort®(2) /
HDMI®(3) Monitore diese Auflösung ebenfalls unterstützen (bis zu 3840x2160@30/60 Hz /pro Monitor).

Die IB-DK2244AC unterstützt 1x 5K@60 Hz Ultra HD Auflösung, wenn der über zwei DP-Kabel angeschlossene
Display-Port®Monitor diese Auflösung ebenfalls unterstützt (bis zu 5120x2880@60 Hz).
