When you do schedulerecording (timer) and recordlive TV directly onUSB this Freeview DigitalTV
Set-Top Box can supportboth of FAT32 andNTFS computer file systems.There are very fewBoxes that
can support both onthe market at themoment. That means itcan support the poweredexternal HDD
over 2TB. But forthe best performance werecommend 1TB powered externalHDD instead.

Read and Follow Instructions- All thesafety and operation instructions
should be read before the videoproduct is operated. Follow all
operating instructions.
Retain Instructions- The safety and operatinginstructions should be
retained for future reference.
Heed all Warnings-Comply with all warningson the video product and in
the operating instructions.
Polarization- Some video products are equippedwith a polarized
alternating -current line plug. This plugwill fit into the power outlet,try
reversing the plug. If the plugstill fails to fit, contact yourelectrician to
replace your obsolete outlet. To preventelectric shock, do not use this
polarized plug with an extension cord,receptacle, or other outlet unless
the blades can be fully insertedwithout blade exposure. If you needan
extension cord, use a polarized cord.
Power Sources- This video product shouldbe operated only from the
type of power source indicated onthe marking label. If you arenot sure
of the type of power supplyto your home, consult your videodealer or
local power company. For video productsintended to operate from
battery power, or other sources, referto the operating instructions.
Overloading- Do not overload wall outletsor extension cords as this can
result in a risk of fireor electric shock. Overloaded AC outlets,extension
cords, frayed power cords, damaged orcracked wire insulation, and
broken plugs are dangerous, Theymay result in a shock orfire hazard.
Periodically examine the cord, and ifits appearance indicated damage or
deteriorated insulation, have it replaced byyour service technician.
Power-Cord Protection- Power-supply cords should berouted so that
they are not likely to bewalked on or pinched by itemsplaced upon or
against them, paying particular attention tocords at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where theyexit from the video product.
Ventilation- Slots and openings in thecase are provided for ventilation
to ensure reliable operation of thevideo product and to protect itfrom
overheating. These openings must not theblocked or covered. The
openings should never be blocked byplacing the video product on a
bed, sofa, rug, or heat register.This video product should not beplaced
in a built-in installation such asa book case or rack, unlessproper
ventilation is provided or the videoproduct manufacturer's instructions
have been followed.
Attachments- Do not use attachments unlessrecommended by the video
product manufacturer as they may causehazards.

The lightning flash with arrowheadsymbol, within an equilateral
triangle, is intended to alert theuser to the presence ofuninsulated

alert the user to the presence of important operation andservicing
instructions in the literature accompanyingthe appliance.

in the manufacture of yourvideo product, safety is amajor factor
in the design of everyinstrument. However, safety is your
responsibility, too. This sheet listsimportant information that will
help to assure your enjoymentand proper use of thevideo
product and accessory equipment. Pleaseread them carefully
before operation and using yourvideo product.
Installation
Water and Moisture- do not usethis video product near water forexample,
near a bath tub, wash bowl, kitchen sink or laundry tub, ina wet basement, or
near a swimming pool and thelike. Caution: Maintain electrical safety.
Powerline operated equipment or accessories connectedto this unit should
bear safety certification mark on theaccessory itself and should not be
modified so as to defeat thesafety features. This will help avoidany and should
not be modified so as todefeat the safety features. This willhelp avoid any
potential hazard from electrical shock orfire. If in doubt, contact qualified
service personnel.
Accessories- Do not place thisvideo product on an unstablecart, stand, tripod,
bracket, or table. The video productmay fall, causing serious injury toa child or
adult as well as serious damageto the video product. Use thisvideo product
only with a cart, stand, tripod,bracket, or table recommended by the
manufacturer's or sold with the videoproduct. Any mounting of the product
should follow the manufacturer's instructions anduse of a mounting accessory
recommended by the manufacturer.
A video product and cart combinationshould be moved with care. Quickstops,
excessive force, and uneven surfaces maycause the video product and cart
combination to overturn.
Note to CATV system installer
This reminder is provided to callthe CATV system installer's attention to
Section 820-40 of the NEC whichprovides guidelines for proper grounding
and, in particular, specifies that thecable ground shall be connected tothe
grounding system of the building, asclose to the point of cableentry as
practical.
Outdoor Antenna Grounding- If an outsideantenna or cable system is
connected to the video product, besure the antenna or cable systemis
grounded so as to provide someprotection against voltage surges and built-up
static charges. Section 810 of theNational Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA No.70-
1984 (Section 54 of Canadian ElectricalCode, Part1) provides information with
respect to proper grounding of themast and supporting structure, grounding
of the lead-in wire to anantenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding
electrodes, and requirements for the groundingelectrode.
Power Lines-An outside antenna system shouldnot be located in the vicinityof
overhead power lines, other electric lightor power circuits, or where itcan fall
into such power lines or circuits.When installing an outside antenna system,
extreme care should be taken tokeep from touching or approaching such
power lines or circuits, ascontact with them might be fatal.Installing an
outdoor antenna can be hazardousand should be left to aprofessional
antenna installer.
Use
Cleaning- Unplug this video product fromthe wall outlet before cleaning.
Do not use liquid cleaners oraerosol cleaners. Use a damp clothfor cleaning.
Objects that may touch dangerous voltagepoints or "short-out" parts could resultin
a fire or electric shock. Neverspill liquid of any kind onthe video product.
Lightning-For added protection for this videoproduct during a lightning storm, or
when it is left unattended andunused for long periods of time,unplug it from the
wall outlet and disconnect theantenna or cable system. Thiswill prevent damage to
the video product due to lightningand power line surges.
Service
Servicing-Do not attempt to service thisvideo product yourself, as opening or
removing covers may expose you todangerous voltage or other hazards. Referall
servicing to qualified service personnel.
Conditions Requiring Service-Unplug this video productfrom the wall outlet and
refer servicing to qualified service personnelunder the following conditions:
A.When the power-supply cord orplug is damaged.
B.If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the video product.
C.If the video product has beenexposed to rain or water.
D.If the video does not operatenormally by following the operating instructions.
Adjust only those controls that arecovered by operating instructions.
Improper adjustment of other controls mayresult in damage and will often
require extensive work by a qualifiedtechnician to restore the video product
to its normal operation.
E.If the video product hasbeen dropped or cabinet hasbeen damaged.
F.When the video product exhibits adistinct change in performance-this
indicates a need for service.
Replacement Parts-When replacement parts are required,have the service
technician verify that the replacements heuses have the same safety characteristics
as the original parts. Use ofreplacements specified by the video product
manufacturer can prevent fire, electric shock,or other hazards.
Safety Check-Upon completion of any serviceor repairs to this video product,ask the
service technician to perform safety checksrecommended by the manufacturer to
determine that the video product isin safe operating condition.
Wall or Ceiling Mounting- The productshould be mounted to a wallor ceiling only
as recommended by the manufacturer.
Heat-The product should be situated awayfrom heat sources such as radiators,heat
registers, stoves, or other products(including amplifiers) that products heat.

If you use theSTB for the firsttime, the "Welcome" menuappears .
Press cursor button tosetup the Region, Language,Display Mode
and Aspect Mode.
Highlight "OK" and pressthe "OK" button tostart channel search.
GETTING STARTED
Installation
Select "Channel Scan", press the "OK" buttonto enter the Channel
Scan menu.
Press cursor button to set Scan mode,Scan Band ,
Channel No., Frequency and Bandwidth, then highlight"Search",
press "OK" button to start channel scan.

If LCN (Logical Channel Number)Select function isactivated, you can't change the original
number of TV channels by scanning .
You can activate/disactivate the LCN function bysetting the "LCN Mode" to on/off.

Accessing the Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
OPERATION
Changing Channels
There are three waysof channel selection -stepping through the channellist, selection by number
and from the on-screenchannel list.
Stepping through the channellist:
To move through thechannel list, press theupward arrow or downwardarrow key on the
remote control.
Selected by number:
Enter the channel numberdirectly by pressing numericbuttons ,and press the"OK" button
to select desired channel.
Selected by on-screen channelslist:
You can also selectthe required channel directlyfrom on-screen channel list.This is
displayed using the STB'smain menu. See "EditChannel" in this manualfor operation detail.

This menu allows you to rename the favorite group.
1. In Channel menu, select "Favorite", press "OK" button to enter
Favorite menu.
2. Select desired group, press "OK" button to open the mock keypad.
Input letter and numeric one by one by pressing the cursor button
and press "OK" button to confirm. After finishing input, highlight
"OK" on mock keypad to confirm, you change Favorite group name
successfully.
P3. ress "EXIT" button to quit the group rename menu.

Radio Channel list
In the Edit Channelmenu, select "Radio ChannelList", press "OK" buttonto enter the Radio
Channel list menu.
Press "UP" or "DOWN"button to highlight channelpress the "OK" buttonto listen the desiredTV
channel.

NOTE:
Basically, the operation of"Radio Channel List" isthe same as "TVChannel List",
but there is onepoint different: In "Radio Channel List" mode, thereis no video
information, so it willalways display Radio's logoin the right sidepreview window.
Delete All /Delete All Favorites
The operation of "DeleteAll Favorites" is thesame as "Delete All".

System setup menu allowsus to set Language,TV System, Local Time
Setting, Timer Setting, ParentalLock and OSD Setting.

This menu allows usto set Video Resolution,Aspect Mode,
Video Output and DigitalAudio Output.
Local Time Setting
This menu allows youto set the regionand time.
GMT Usage: This menu is usedfor open the usageof GMT.
The options are :Off / On
GMT Offset: This menu is validonly when selected "UesrDefine"
in GMT Usage menu.
The GMT offset rangeis "-11:30 ~ +12:00",increasing
half hour progressively.
Date:
Time:
"Date" and "Time" menusare valid only whenselected
"Off" in GMT Usagemenu.
Press "OK" then numericbutton to input thetime.
Region: This menu is usedfor changing the regionsetting.

OSD Setting
This menu allows you to set OSDTimeout, OSD Transparency and load
default OSD setting.
OSD Timeout: 1-10
OSD Transparency: To set the OSD transparency to Off/10%/20%/30%/
40%.
Load Default OSD Setting: To clear all OSD setting and reset parameters
as default value.
SYSTEM SETUP
Parental Lock
In "System Setup" menu, select "Parental Lock" and press "OK" button,
you are asked to input a password(the default password is"0000").
After inputting the correct password by pressing numeric buttons,
the parental lock menu appears.

Receiver Information
In "Tools" menu, select "Receiver Information", press"OK" button
to open receiver information window .
Press "EXIT" button to exit.

This menu can display some parameters of HardwareModel, Hardware
Version, Software Model, Software Version and Update Dateinformation
in this STB.
Load Factory Default
This menu allows you to re-set the STB back to factory settings,
clear all existed channels.
In the "Tools" menu, select "Load Factory Default",press "OK"
button.

Press "EXIT" button toexit.
Enter "Tools" menu, select"S/W Upgrade by OTA"or "Upgrade
by USB", press "OK"button, Software Upgrade menuis shown.

When the space availableon the Mass StorageDevice runs out, recordingoperation of
broadcast will stop.
