Disposal of Old Electrical Appliances
The European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), requires that old
household electrical appliances must not be disposed o in normal unsorted municipal waste. Old appliances
must be collected separately in order to optimise the recovery and recycling o the materials they

symbol on the product reminds you o your obligation, that when you dispose o the appliance it must be

When writing or emailing us to report a fault please ensure you attach a copy of your proof of purchase.

This product is guaranteed or a period o 2 years rom the date o purchase against
mechanical and electrical de ects.
The warranty doe not cover consumable parts that require replacement under
normal use or accessories. This includes ilters, belts, and accessory attachments.

address detailed below.
Please quote the model number which begins IG, the ‘Batch Number’ beginning ‘5’
and give details o the exact ault.
We will then decide whether to repair or replace the item. You will be required to return a copy o your proo o
purchase. Please retain your original.
I an item is replaced under guarantee within 2 years, the guarantee or the replacement item will be calculated rom
the purchase date o the original.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Important: This appliance is not intended or use by persons including children with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack o experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use o the appliances by a person responsible or their sa ety.
1. This kettle is designed or domestic use only and NOT or commercial applications. No responsibility is
accepted or damage resulting rom improper use or non-compliance with these instructions.
2. Read these instructions be ore use and keep in a sa e place.
3. Ensure that the electricity supply in your home is rated at 220 - 240 volts be ore operating the appliance.
4. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
5. Do not use or keep the kettle outside.
6. Always unplug the appliance be ore attempting to move it.
7. Repairs to electrical appliances are only to be undertaken by a trained personnel. Repairs by untrained
pro essionals can be dangerous.
8. To protect against ire, electric shock and injury to persons do not immerse the cord, plug, kettle or base in
water or any other liquid.
9. Unplug rom the power socket when not in use and be ore cleaning. Allow to cool be ore putting on or taking
o parts, and be ore cleaning the appliance.
10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or a ter the appliance mal unctions, or has been
damaged in any manner.
11. The use o accessories not recommended may result in ire, electric shock or injury to persons.
12. Do not let the cord hang over the edge o the table or counter, or touch a hot sur ace.

16. To disconnect rom the power supply, ensure that switch is in the “O ” position and remove plug rom the
power socket. Always hold the plug, never pull the cord.
17. Some parts o appliance are hot when operated, so do not touch with hand. Use handles only.
18. Do not let the kettle operate without water.
19. Avoid contact with steam rom the spout during or a ter boiling.
20. Take care when pouring boiling water.
21. The base cannot be used or anything other than its intended use.
22. The kettle can only be used with the base provided.
23. I the kettle is illed past the MAX level, boiling water may spill out.
24. Ensure the lid is irmly closed and do not open the lid whilst boiling.
25. Never modi y the kettle in anyway. Unauthorised modi ications will void your warranty.

Operating Instructions
Before First Use
Be ore using the kettle or the irst time, ill with water to the MAX level, boil and pour away. Repeat
this several times using resh water each time you boil the kettle.
Using your Kettle
• Place the cordless base on a level irm sur ace.
• Where ever possible ill the kettle through the spout as this will help to reduce the amount o
limescale that builds up on the ilter.
• The amount o water can be measured by the level mark on the outside o the kettle. Never ill the
kettle above the MAX level and ensure it is always above the MIN level.
• Only ill the kettle with the amount o water you need as this will save electricity.
• Always make sure that the lid is irmly closed.
• Place the kettle on the cordless base making sure it is positioned correctly.
• Plug in and switch on at the wall socket.
• Put the ON / OFF switch to its ‘ON’ position and the switch will illuminate.
• When the water boils the kettle will switch o automatically. The kettle can be switched o
manually by putting the switch to the ‘OFF’ position.
• To re-boil the kettle, switch on again. I the appliance has just switched o , wait a minute or so
be ore switching back on.
• When the kettle has boiled the water may be poured out through the spout.
• This kettle is itted with a sa ety cut-out to protect the kettle rom damage in case o inappropriate
use.
• Should the kettle be accidently operated without water or i all o the water has evaporated, the
sa ety cut-out will automatically switch o the heating element.
• In such a case, remove the plug rom the wall socket immediately and re ill the kettle. Allow the
element to cool or a ew minutes and then start using the kettle as normal.
Descaling
IMPORTANT: As this kettle is itted with a concealed element it must be regularly descaled. The
requency o descaling depends on usage and the hardness o the water in your area.
Excessive amounts o scale can cause the kettle to switch o be ore reaching boiling point and cause
damage to the element which is not covered by the guarantee.
• Any regular descaling agent may be used, provided the relevant instructions are observed.
• Do not ill the kettle to the upper mark to avoid spillage i the descaling agent causes the water to
oam.
• To clean the kettle thoroughly o any decalci ication residues, let it go through several boiling
cycles using clean water with each cycle. Rinse the kettle with clean water a terwards.
Cleaning and Care
• Be ore cleaning the kettle, ensure it is disconnected rom the power supply and has cooled down
completely.
• Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning solutions.
• Do not immerse the base or the kettle in any liquid. To clean the exterior, use a slightly damp lint
ree cloth.
• It is advisable to remove limescale deposits at regular intervals.
