Installation and Use
Installing the Transmitter
1. Carefully remove the bulkhead or accessory port plug
from the housing.
2. Remove the nut from the end of the transmitter. Check
that the o-ring on the transmitter and the sealing surface
on the housing are clean.
3. Very lightly lubricate the visible surface of the o-ring and
the sealing surface of the housing.
4. Thread the transmitter into the 1/2-20 hole in the top of
the housing being careful not to cross-thread.
5. Tighten using your ngers only just until it touches the
case. Do not over-tighten.
6. Re-attach the nut on the inside of the case. While holding
the transmitter in place on the outside of the housing,
tighten the nut snug with a 5/8” wrench
»Do not tighten the retaining nut without holding the
transmitter in place. Turning the retaining nut can cause
the transmitter to loosen and break the o-ring seal.

Installing the Battery Holder
»Test t the battery holder with a camera installed to
nd a place where it can adhere to the inside wall of the
housing without interfering with control functions. The
on/off switch on the battery holder should be visible.
The battery holder should be positioned such that it
is able to easily slide in and out of the holder after
installation.
»For best adhesion, attach the battery holder bracket to
the inside of the housing in a cool climate and wait 24
hours before exposing to heat and humidity.

Transmitter

1. Open the lid of the battery holder and insert two CR2032
single-use or rechargeable lithium batteries.

2. Close the battery holder.
3. Peel the adhesive backing from the battery holder bracket
and position the holder against the inside wall of the
housing.
4. Press rmly for 20-30 seconds.
5. Attach the end of the battery holder connector to the
mating connector on the transmitter.
»The battery holder ON/OFF switch must be in the
ON position for ash operation. The transmitter will
automatically enter a power save mode when not in use
to prolong battery life.
»For the best battery life, use the battery holder OFF
switch position when not in use.
Installing the Hotshoe
1. Align hotshoe and transmitter connector ends and push
together until tab clicks into place.
2. Push hotshoe forward into camera’s hotshoe mount.
Make sure that the hotshoe is all the way forward to
ensure proper connection.
Setting Your Camera
Refer to your camera and housing instruction manuals for
recommendations on ash settings for external strobes. In
general:
• Flash mode must be set to Forced ash on.
• HDR must be turned off (default).
• Silent mode must be turned off (default).
• Filter Effects must be turned off (default).
• Electronic shutter must be turned off (default).
Maintenance and Storage
Post-Dive
1. Submerge the fully assembled system in clean, fresh
water after each use. Press the mode button several
times while submerged.
2. Remove the system from the rinse tank and ush with
running fresh water.
3. Dry the system with a clean, lint-free cloth.
4. Separate the components and lubricate the threads and
o-ring(s) every 2-3 days during continuous use.
Travel and Storage
1. Separate the converter from the sync cord and housing.
2. Wipe off the threads of each bulkhead and retaining ring
using a clean, lint-free cloth.
3. Lightly lubricate all o-rings, threads, and sealing surfaces.
4. Attach the connector protector and waterproof bulkhead
cap to converter ends.
Limited Warranty
This Ikelite product is warranted against any manufacturing
defects for a period of one (1) year from the original date
of purchase. To obtain warranty service, the product must
be returned to Ikelite postage paid. Ikelite will, at its sole
discretion, repair or replace such products, and will return
to customer postage paid. All other claims of any nature are
not covered. Except as mentioned above, no other warranty
expressed or implied applies to this Ikelite product.
