We Want You Listening For A Lifetime
Selecting ne audio equipment such as the unit you have just pur-
chased is only the start of your musical enjoyment. Now it’s time
to consider how you can maximize the fun and excitement your
equipment offers. This Manufacturer and the Electronic Industries
Association’s Consumer Electronics Group want you to get the most
out of your equipment by playing it at a safe level. One that lets
the sound come through loud and clear without annoying blaring
or distortion-and, most importantly, without affecting your sensitive
hearing. Sound can be deceiving. Over time your hearing “comfort
level” adapts to higher volumes of sound. So what sounds “normal”
can actually be loud and harmful to your hearing. Guard against
this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing
adapts. To establish a safe level: - Start your volume control at a low
setting. - Slowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfort-
ably and clearly, and without distortion. Once you have established
a comfortable sound level: - Set the dial and leave it there. Taking a
minute to do this now will help to prevent hearing damage or loss in
the future. After all, we want you listening for a lifetime.
Used wisely, your new sound equipment will provide a lifetime of
fun and enjoyment. Since hearing damage from loud noise is often
undetectable until it is too late, this Manufacturer and the Electronic
Industries Association’s Consumer Electronics Group recommend
you avoid prolonged exposure to excessive noise. This list of sound
levels is included for your protection.

mode. Use this function to tune your guitar
by rst connecting your guitar to the GUITAR
In (5) section on your G3 unit.
There are two tuning interfaces that can be
used. One is for novice guitar players, and
the other is for more skilled players. Each
interface is based off of a standard 6 string
guitar model with notes (low to high) E-A-D-
G-B-E.
In Tuner mode, the rst screen that appears
is in the novice Guitar Tuner interface. It has
an individual screen for every string going
from lowest to highest, starting with the low
E string.
Play the lowest string on your guitar. The
LCD screen (7) will read the signal as green if
your string is in tune, red if it is sharp, or yel-
low if it is at. Adjust accordingly and press
the Format/ Stereo-Mono button to switch to
the next string screen.
After navigating through all 6 Guitar Tuner
screens, you will nd the Auto Tuner inter-
face (intended for the more experienced
guitar player). Strings are tuned just like

strings are tuned in this one screen.
(OUTPUT LEVEL) Use the OUTPUT LEVEL

ment to adjust headphone level.
(HOLD Mode) The unit is equipped with a
HOLD function which freezes all buttons
and the jog wheel from taking action when
depressed. To enter this mode, press and
hold the TIME (9) and FORMAT(10) buttons
simultaneously. The top right of the screen
will indicate when the unit is in hold mode.
To exit HOLD mode, press the TIME and
FORMAT buttons simultaneously again.
(STAND Mount) The Stand mount (16) is
where you connect your unit to a stand
(Stand not included).

To nd out what software version you have on
your unit, turn it on and as it powers up there
will be a number that appears at the top of
the LCD screen (7). This refers to the software
version. If the Web site has a software update
listed whose number is higher than the one on
your unit, than this means the software on the
site is more current and should be loaded onto
your unit. (*Note: Be sure to load only the soft-
ware listed specically for your unit.)
There are detailed instructions on how to up-
date your units software located on the iKEY-
AUDIO Web site, however here is a quick
guide:
*Note: It is very important to ensure that
your batteries are full when updating the
units software because an update can take
up to several minutes, and if your unit pow-
ers off in the middle of an update, your unit
can become damaged.
1) Ensure that the software update located
online is most up to date version, and
that it is not currently running on your
unit.
2) Unzip and download the latest software
version onto the root directory of your
SD card.
3) Load it onto your unit making sure it is
rst powered off and then turn it on.
4) The software will update automatically.
