Introduction
Purchase Congratulations on your purchase of an Imex IPL3T Pipe Laser.
These lasers have been designed for the professional and
incorporate the latest laser technology with a robust and
simple construction for years of trouble-free use.
This manual contains important safety directions as well as
instructions for setting up the product and operating it. Read
carefully through the User Manual before
using
the product.

The serial number of your IPL3T is indicated on the base of
the laser level. Please keep this recorded in your manual and
always refer to this information, should you need to contact
your Imex distributor.

Features and Functions
Imex IPL3 Tpipe laser could output red or green self-leveling or graded set laser dot
to provide precise horizontal and grade reference for tunnel excavating, pipe laying
layout, pile driving and calibration with convenient operation and wide usage.
Ultra-small size design for more extensive applications
Electronic leveling, laser flash and OLED display when beyond the range
Large range grade set
Wireless OLED digital display remote control
Laser dot auto-tracking function (option)
Sleep function
Well designed accessories can expand instrument usage.
Nitrogen to filled fully sealed unit, IP68 waterproof and dustproof.

User Safety
Laser output sign is located near the output window
Do not stare directly into laser beam
Do not disassemble the instrument or attempt to perform any internal servicing.
Repairs and servicing should be performed only by authorized Imex service
centers
The instrument complies with the safety classification standards of laser radiation

Instrument Operation
3.1
Charging the rechargeable battery
Plug the charger into the charging hole to charge the rechargeable battery box. When
charging, the indication light is red, and when charging is finished, the indication light
turns from red to green.

ON/OFF button
a)
Press ON/OFF button, the instrument will turn on, and self-level.
b)
Instrument will display the last set grade value.
3.4
Channel selection button
Press this button to switch the channels from 1-9.The laser functions can only be
controlled from a remote control on the same channel as the instrument.

Laser Grade Starting Dot LED
Press this button, the green LED on the top of the laser instrument light, this LED is
indicates the commencement position of where the laser grade starts from.

3.6.1
Laser dot on-grade function
a)
Press buttons simultaneously and loosen after one second, the laser dot
will automatically centre
b)
The symbol on LCD will flash during centering operations.
c)
After centering, LCD will display symbol.
3.6.2
Laser dot scanning function
a)
Press laser left arrow button to make the laser move leftwards, press right arrow
button to make the laser move rightwards, single press to move slowly,
continuous press to move quickly.
b)
When the laser is moving, LCD will display symbol to show the laser dot
position.
Symbol flash indicates the laser dot is at the left limit position.
Symbol indicates the laser dot is at the leftward
Symbol indicates the laser dot is centering.
Symbol indicates the laser dot is at the rightward
Symbol flash indicates the laser dot is at the right limit position
3.7 Laser Grade setting
Power on and press the grade setting key to change grade value. The grade
value will display ‘+00.000%’ and the ‘+’ will be highlighted.
a)
After entering the grade set mode, select all digits for grade setting using the SET
button. Use buttons to change digit values
• Lowest digit: 0
• Maximum digit: 9
b)
Hold on simultaneously to reset the grade value back to 0.
c)
When required grade values have been set press to confirm
d)
The laser will now level at set grade, the laser grade symbol will flash. When self-
levelling procedure has completed the flashing stops

Grade locking function
Press
and
simultaneously until symbol show on LCD the instrument
will lock the current grade value. CAUTION the self-levelling function will now be
disabled, no matter how the instrument moves, the laser dot will not adjust and
self-level.

3.9
Beyond Tolerance Alarm
3.9.1
(Front & Back Tolerance)
When the instrument is placed in over incline position (front or back) or the grade is
beyond the self-leveling range the laser will alarm (laser beam and symbol on LCD
display will flash) You will then need to adjust the laser into tolerance range, see
below;
a)
When LCD displays symbol, it’s necessary to lower the handle position
until the symbol turns off.
b)
When LCD displays symbol, it’s necessary to raise the handle position
until the symbol turns off.
Note: grade value may still be set when laser is in ‘beyond tolerance position
3.9.2
(Left & Right Tolerance)
LCD has bubble symbol which is used to indicate the laser incline status. When is
laser is in over inclined position, the accuracy will be affected. Adjust the laser position
to centre the bubble symbol.
Symbol flash indicates the instrument left height exceeds allowed range, and
instrument accuracy may be affected.
Symbol indicates the instrument is level and will be most accurate used in this
position.
Symbol flash indicates the instrument right height exceeds allowed range, and
instrument accuracy may be affected.
3.10
Battery Level Indication
Power on the instrument and check the battery power status on the battery indicator
on the LCD screen.
Indicates Full Battery to charge
Indicates low voltage, user still able to use
Indicates very low voltage, Laser requires immediate charging

Sleep Function
The IPL3T is equipped with a sleep mode to save battery power by putting the laser
to sleep without losing current working data
a)
Press the SLEEP button and the laser beam and LCD display will turn off and
laser grade start point LED will flash
b)
Press the SLEEP button again to exit sleep mode, the laser beam and LCD
display will turn back on at previously set position
c)
If the instrument is not woken within 30 minutes, the instrument will power off
automatically.
d)
Remote distance:100 meters.

Laser dot auto-tracking function (with optional auto track target, 20m range)
a) After IPL3T is on and self-leveling, turn on the Auto-track target and press
button to enter the automatic tracking mode.
b) Laser dot will automatically search for Auto-track target centerline.
Note: Auto-Track target only works on channel 1,2 & 3. If IPL3T and Auto-track
Target are not in the same channel, the channel indicating LED will flash. Press
the remote button on the target to set required channel.
c) When finished tracking, the laser will quit tracking mode. IPL3T and Remote
Control also have corresponding symbol indication when during and after tracking.

Maintenance
The instrument should be carefully operated and properly preserved, and any
violent shock or falling will possibly result in the damage to the instrument.
Do not attempt to disassemble the instrument, unprofessional disassembly will
result in the damage of instrument and void any warranty
Keep clean especially the laser output window, remove dust with soft clean cloth.
Take the batteries out when the instrument is not in use for extended periods of
time
Dry tools before putting into carry case
Keep the instrument in the carrying case when not in use.
