Step-by-Step Instructions
(PRINT this set of instructions, to follow every time you reset the chips on your canon cartridges.)
How to use the chip resetter for the
Canon PGI-220 / CLI-221 Cartridges
For the CLI-221 Black, Yellow, Cyan and Magenta Cartridges- use the
sliding bar guide attachment and put it on top of the chip resetter as
shown in picture 1.
For the PGI-220 Black remove the slide guide and use the chip resetter
with out the sliding guide as shown in picture 2.
Hold the cartridge with the chip facing the back of the chip resetter.
For the CLI-221 PGI-220
Put cartridge into the sliding guide No slide guide is needed

Slide the cartridge down the slide and press the chip on the end of the
cartridge against the pins in the chip resetter as shown in pictures 3, 4 and
5.

You will first get a short split second flash of the red LED light- this signals
that a good contact is made. Hold for 2 - 3 seconds until the cartridge LED
lights up red. The continuous red LED light (LED is in the cartridge) indicates
that the resetting was successful. You can now remove the cartridge from
the chip resetter.
For PGI-220: Do not use the sliding guide. Repeat the steps listed above.

Trouble shooting:
A) The pins of the resetter may not be making good contact with the
chip.
B) The cartridge or the chip you are attempting to reset may not be
original Canon.
C) The battery cell in the canon resetter may be spent. Replace the
battery.
