REA JET HR pro 2K / HR pro 4K
The REA JET HR pro 2K is a system for max. 2 print heads and the REA JET HR pro 4K for max. 4
print heads. Both devices make use of the same hardware and the same accessories. As the
operation of the device follows the same philosophy, the operation of both devices is included in
this manual. Wherever the hardware or operation differ due to the different max. number of print
heads, the manual shall make clear mention of this.
REA JET HR pro 2K / 4K is based on the HP TIJ (Thermal Ink Jet) technology that has been
proven in practice billions of times over. The REA JET HR pro 2K / 4K marking system makes the
HP technology known for its office applications for marking with a max. print height of 25.4 mm now
available in an industrial environment. REA JET achieves its exceptional position in the field of
industrial marking systems with the following characteristics:
Small, compact stainless steel control device in IP 20 model.
Exceptionally suitable for cabinet installation / integration in machines and systems.
Sturdy aluminum print head (milled from solid material)
This elaborate construction provides optimum protection for the cartridges that originally hail
from office applications when it comes to rough daily industrial usage. One TIJ cartridge
can be applied per print head. This provides a marking height of max. 12.7 mm per print
head.
Simple cascading of print heads
The print heads can be easily and accurately cascaded due to the firmly integrated precision
assembly aids (dowel pins and grooves). This lets REA JET HR pro 2K achieve print
heights of up to 25.4 mm and up to 50.8 mm for the REA JET HR pro 4K.
Compact dimensions
Despite the extreme sturdiness of the print head, it is still very compact in terms of size. Its
small size is very important when cascading multiple print heads. The compact design of the
print head enables it to be integrated in virtually any machine and system without requiring
any additional print head variants.
Locking lever for the cartridge with integrated position monitoring
This non-wear monitoring (by means of a magnetic sensor and no mechanical switch)
enables the removal or the change of the cartridge, without having to stop the control device
beforehand. The control device is automatically stopped by the monitored locking lever. This
ensures secure handling of the cartridge without any additional intervention of the operator.
Simple parameterization and control of the device status
The REA JET HR pro 2K / 4K is equipped with a full-color graphic display with a diagonal
measurement of approx. 8.9 cm (3.5 in.) and an industrial grade rotary knob with touch
function as operating element, which can be used to set the marking device. The display
also provides essential information about the current job, the status of the print heads and
the current cartridge fill level (graphic).
Comfortable and secure operation with the integrated WebGUI.
The configuration of parameters and operation is done via the WebGUI. Any standard web
browser can be used for this purpose. No separate software is needed. The use of current
web technologies enables quick and intuitive operation. This reduces training time to a
minimum while still ensuring maximum operational safety. Just like the device user
interface, the WebGUI is equipped with 20 different user languages. Together with the

optimally implemented and comprehensive graphical user guidance, this makes global use
of the solution very simple.
Modular concept
The comprehensive modular concept reflected in all of the solution's components lets users
make trouble-free and cost-effective adjustments to the marking system to meet various
customer requirements.
Versatile accessory program
The elaborate accessory program with its many useful components, such as connecting
elements, brackets, signal lamps, various product sensors, etc. enables easy and fast
integration. The I/O-optimized connecting element for rail mounting considerably simplifies
cabinet installation of the REA JET HR pro 2K / 4K.
Control device with wide range power supply
The wide range power supply used in the REA JET HR pro 2K / 4K control device is
equipped for 95V –250V AC and frequencies of 50 –60 Hz. Therefore only one control
device is required for worldwide use, which considerably facilitates work for many
mechanical engineers and globally active enterprises.
Supports True Type Fonts (TTF) and Unicode charsets
True Type Font support ensures that all TTF can be used directly in REA JET HR pro 2K /
4K without any converting or processing. This also applies to customer-specific TTF.
Unicode support enables the use of variable print content in any desired language with the
respective existing font. Transfer takes place in the internationally recognized UTF standard.
The present user manual has been developed to help you make maximum use of all of the benefits.
The information contained in this user manual will help maintain the very high availability of the
marking system without restriction, even after several years of use. We welcome all user comments
and feedback.

Do not inhale solvents.
As a result of their chemical composition, some special inks and cleaners
may under certain circumstances emit solvent vapors. These may be
hazardous to your health in the long term or in high concentrations.
Please refer to the material safety data sheet of the respective liquid to
ascertain the extent to which there may be a health hazard.
The material safety data sheets also contains information on what kind of
personal protective equipment is required for the operating and
maintenance personnel. If in doubt, please consult your employers'
liability insurance association or your safety engineer.
The concentration of the solvent during regular print operation is highly
dependent on the environment of the printer and the application. Make sure
the room is sufficiently ventilated and, if in doubt, make use of an approved
air extraction system.
Whether or not an extraction system is necessary must be decided on a
case-by-case basis. The "maximum workplace concentration values" (MAK
values) can be used to make a sound decision in this regard. The
permissible MAK values can be found in the material safety data sheet and
have to be checked by making respective measurements at the printer
location.
Wear safety goggles
Safety goggles must be worn when working with ink or cleaning products.
Wear goggles with side protection (or a protective means of equal value)
as soon as you work with ink or cleaners.
If any liquid gets into the eyes, rinse the eye with an eye wash, or if not
available rinse with flowing water for 15 minutes and consult a physician
immediately.
Wear safety gloves
When working with consumables (ink and cleaner), wear safety gloves that
have been authorized as per material safety data sheet for which the gloves
have been authorized for the chemicals contained in the consumables.
Latex gloves are not leak-proof and are therefore not permitted as safety
gloves.
