NSC18-WN Pan/Tilt Network Camera, Model 550857.
This quick install guide presents the rudimentary steps required to set
up and operate this device. For software installation procedures, detailed
instructions and specications, refer to the user manual 1) on the CD
enclosed with this product; 2) on the Web site listed below; or 3) in some
cases, printed and enclosed with this product. Contact your INTELLINET
NETWORK SOLUTIONS dealer with comments or questions, or visit
www.intellinet-network.com for information on the latest software and
rmware updates, related products and additional contact information.
Some screen images have been modied to t the format of this guide.

EU Declaration of Conformity
This device complies with the essential requirements of the R&TTE
Directive 1999/5/EC. This device is a 2.4 GHz wideband transmission
system (transceiver) intended for use in all EU member states and EFTA
countries, except in France and Italy, where restrictive use applies.
In Italy, the end-user should apply for a license at the national spectrum
authorities in order to obtain authorization to use the device for setting up
outdoor radio links and/or for supplying public access to telecommunications
and/or network services.
This device may not be used for setting up outdoor radio links in France,
and in some areas the RF output power may be limited to 10 mW EIRP
in the frequency range of 2454 – 2483.5 MHz. For detailed information,
the end-user should contact the national spectrum authority in France.
Federal Communications Commission Interference Statement
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for
a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These
limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses
and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference
will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause
harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be
determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged
to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that

this equipment.
IEEE 802.11b or 802.11g operation of this product in the U.S. is rmware-
limited to channels 1 through 11.
FCC Radiation Exposure Statement
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for
an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and
operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm (approximately 8 in.) between
the radiator and your body. This transmitter must not be co-located or
operated in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
SafeTy PreCauTioNS
This product has been designed with safety in mind, but as electrical
products can cause res which may lead to serious damage and injury
if not used properly, observe these precautions:
• Don’t open the camera housing or otherwise expose yourself to
dangerous voltage or other hazards inside.
• Don’t attach/connect accessories that aren’t designed for this device.
• Avoid operating or storing the camera in extreme temperatures (see
Specications in the user manual).
• Avoid exposing the camera to direct sunlight for a long time.
• Don’t place the camera near heat sources.
• Don’t place the camera near water (e.g., next to a bathtub or sink) or
in an extremely hot or humid environment.
• Don’t place the camera near sources of strong magnetism.
• Don’t place the camera near sources of powerful electromagnetic
radiation, such as radios or TV transmitters.
• Don’t place the camera in locations subject to strong vibration or
shock.

Reset – For reverting to the factory default
settings. Use a straight pin, paper clip or
other pointed object to press and hold this
recessed button in (on the camera base’s
right side, as shown at right) for 5 seconds.
Tripod Ring – For securing the camera to a
tripod or wall/ceiling mount. This twist ring
is on the underside of the camera base.

Back / Connections
1. Connect one end of the included Ethernet cable (or a similar one) to
your local area network and the other end to the LAN port. NOTE: You
can skip this step if you plan to use a wireless LAN only.
2. Plug the included
power adapter into
an A/C outlet and
connect it to the
12VDC power jack.
3. Attach the two
included antennas to the connectors (shown already attached above).
4. As needed, refer to the user manual for the WPS button and connections
to the SD card slot and Audio Out jack.
5. Position the camera in a secure location and aim it as desired.
SofTWare
Installation
1. With your computer on, insert the included software CD in the CD-ROM
drive. The Welcome to Internet Camera Install Wizard screen will
display automatically. NOTE: If the wizard doesn’t display, double-click
the CD/DVD drive icon or double-click “autorun.exe” on the CD.
2. Click “Install
Administrator

3. When the Welcome
to the IPCam Admin
Utility Setup Wizard
screen displays,
click “Next.”
4. When the Select
Destination Location
screen displays,
click “Next” to
continue or click
“Browse” to select
another folder or
drive to install the
admin utility.
5. When the Select
Additional Tasks
screen displays,
click “Next” to
continue. If you
prefer, deselect the
“Create a desktop
icon” and “Create a
Quick Launch icon”
options, which are
both selected by
default.

6. When the Ready to
Install screen
displays, click
“Install.”
7. When the Completing
the IPCam Admin
Utility Setup Wizard
screen displays,
click “Finish” to
complete the install.
NOTE: The “Launch
IPCam Admin Utility”
option should be
selected by default.
Admin Utility
1. The admin utility will automatically search for all cameras available on
your local network.
To update the list,
click on the Search
Camera icon in the
lower-left corner of
the screen (shown
at right).

2. When a camera is found and listed (as shown above), highlight it to
select it, then click on the Browse Camera via Web icon (the middle of
the three icons in the lower-left corner of the screen). This will launch
your Web browser so you can connect to the camera. NOTE: If the
camera selected in the list on the above screen is presented with an
IP address (as shown), proceed to Step 6. If the IP Address listing of
the camera is “0.0.0.0,” however, click the Congure Camera icon (the
right-hand icon among the three) and proceed with Step 3.
3. When the Login screen displays
after the Congure Camera icon
is clicked, ll in the “Password”
eld (the default password is
“1234”) and click “OK” to display
the LAN Setting conguration
screen. The default username,
“admin,” cannot be changed
here.

4. With the LAN Setting screen displayed so you can replace an “0.0.0.0”
IP address with a valid one, select “Manual IP” and enter values for
“IP,” “NetMask,” “Gateway” and “DNS.” Unless you’re familiar with the
effects changing the “Web Port” value would have, leave it as is. Click
“OK.” NOTE: If you don’t know how to specify an IP address for your
camera, ask your network administrator or an experienced technician.
5. Now, as described in Step 2, you can connect to the camera by either
entering its IP address in your Web browser’s address bar or highlighting
the camera listing (now complete with an IP address) and clicking on
the Browse Camera via Web icon.

6. When the Internet Camera login
screen displays (right), enter a
username and password and
click “OK.” As before, the “User
Name” and “Password” defaults
are “admin” and “1234.” NOTE:
If this login screen doesn’t
display, go back and re-enter
the IP address as necessary.
Once you’ve logged in properly,
your browser should display the “This site might require the following
ActiveX control...” message, as shown below.
7. Right-click on the message in the address bar
to display an options menu (right), then click
“Install ActiveX Control...” to continue.
8. When the Security Warning screen displays (below), click “Install” to
install the ActiveX control that’s required.

9. At this point, you should be able to view the images captured by the
camera. For instructions in conguring/using the many features and
functions of the NSC18-WN Pan/Tilt Network Camera, refer to the
user manual on the included CD.
