About this User Manual
This manual contains instructions for installing, configuring and using the BGC-2010S Series Speed Dome
network camera. Available features and operations are different in part depending on the model. Read this
manual carefully before installing and use the Network Camera properly.

Legal Considerations
Camera surveillance can be prohibited by laws that vary from country to country. Check the laws in your local
region before using this product for surveillance purposes. This product includes one (1) MPEG-4 decoder
license. To purchase further licenses, contact your reseller.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
This equipment generates, users and can radiate radio accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a
particular installation.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
turning the equipment off an on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures: Re-orient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. Connect the equipment to an outlet on a different
circuit to the receiver. Consult your dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. Shielded (STP)
network cables must be used with this unit to ensure compliance with EMC standards
FCC- This equipment has been has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device,
pursuant to Part 15 of he FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates uses and
can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual,
may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is
likely to cause interference, in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at shi own
expense.

Safety Notice
Do not Place the unit on an unstable surface.
- Always checks the strength and stability of the installation location.
- A falling unit will result in damage and could cause serious injury.
Never touch electrical connections with wet hands.
- Touching electrical connections with web hands could result in serious electrical shock
Never use the unit if there is an abnormality
- Turn off the power and unplug the unit immediately if here is any type of abnormality, such as a
strange smell or smoke
- Continuing to use a unit that is not operation properly could result in serious injury or damage to the
unit.
Always use the designated power supply
- Failure to use the proper power supply could result in fire, electrical shock, serious injury and/or
damage.
- Always uses the designated power supply.
Never place the unit in extremes of high or low temperatures.
- Extreme temperature will damage the unit
- Always use within an operating range of -40°C to 60°C(40°F ~ 120°F) for outdoor speed dome camera.

Product Overview
Network Speed Dome Camera has a built-in pan/tilt/zoom camera, web server, providing full access to all
features through the use of a standard Web browser. You can remotely control camera to any direction and
zoom in/out the object from anywhere through internet.
Up to 50 viewers can access the camera simultaneously when using MPEG4 streaming. Video can be
viewed in CBR(Constant Bit Rate) and VBR (Variable Bit Rate) mode.
For using outdoor, the superior Network Speed Dome Camera is professional security solutions for web
promotion, remote monitoring, IBS surveillance, ITS, unmanned office at buildings, warehouses,
manufacturing facilities, shopping centers, school campuses, casino, prison, railways, traffic control,
airports, hotel & resorts etc.
Network Speed Dome Camera has a 30x optical zoom, auto-focus lens and a ¼ inch Sony HAD interlaced
CCD image sensor. It has IR-cut filter can be automatically or manually removed, depending on the light
conditions. This enables the camera to capture color video in light conditions down to 0.6 lux, and black and
white video in dark conditions as low as 0.0007lux with DSS. As with all true domes, Network Speed Dome
Camera can execute a continuous 360 degree pan and 90-degree tilt to cover large areas.

Important
1. Network speed dome camera is installed in an outdoor enclosure and the connection cable is
already assembled in a network speed dome camera.
2. Please do not try to disassemble the unit unless it is necessary.

Operating the Speed Dome Camera
This section explains how to monitor the image from the camera using the Web browser. For setting the
camera, see “Administrating the Speed Dome Camera” on Page
Logging in to Homepage
1 Start the web browser on the computer and type the IP address of the camera you want to monitor.
Log in page of Camera is displayed.
2Enter the proper User ID and Password and then press “Login” button.
You can select the viewer from among ActiveX Viewer, Java applet Viewer whichever is suitable for your
system environments and usage.
(Enter the user ID and Password “admin” are set at the factory for the administrator)
You can change them on the Account page in the Administrator menu (see page 15)
To operate the login page correctly, set the security level of the Internet Explorer to Medium or lower, as
follows.
1 Select Tool from the menu bar of Internet Explorer, then select Internet Options and Security tab in Sequence
2 Click the Internet icon (when using the camera via the Internet) or Local intranet icon (when using the camera
via a local network)
3 Set the slider to Medium or lower. (If the slider is not displayed, click Default Level)

When using antivirus software in the PC
- When you use antivirus software in your PC, the camera performance may be reduced, for example, the frame
rate for displaying the image may lower.
- The Web page displayed of the page may be affected if you use antivirus software in your PC
About Viewers
You can select one of the following two viewers.
Java Applet Viewer
The Java applet viewer operates on Internet Explorer or Netscape.
It displays the main viewer page using Java.
With this viewer, you can use all the functions provided with this software
The Frame rate is lower than for the other viewers
If the viewer does not operate correctly, install or activate Java as follows.
If you are using Internet Explorer
Select “Tool” from the menu bar of Internet Explorer, then selects Internet Option and the Advanced tab in
sequence, and check “JIT” complier for virtual machine enabled (required restart). Then restart Internet
Explorer.
If you are going to install Netscape
Install Java in the process of Netscape installation, following the instructions of the installer. After installing,
select Edit from the menu bar of Netscape, then Setting and Details for category in sequence, and check
Active Java.
If you are using Netscape without Java installed, but the viewer does not operate correctly
Make sure that the version of your Java Plug-in is one of those shown below. If your Java Plug-in is of a
different version, uninstall it, and then install the correct version.
To Confirm the Java Plug-in version
Click the Start button of Windows, then select Settings and Control Panel in sequence to display the Java
Plug-in version.
To install Java Plug-in
Download Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (JRE) from Netscape Net center or Sun
Homepage, and install if following the instructions of the installer. After installing, select Edit from the
menu bar of Netscape, then Setting and Details for category in sequence, and check Activate Java.

ActiveX viewer
The ActiveX viewer operates on Internet Explorer. It displays the main viewer page using ActiveX.
With this viewer, you can display images at a high frame rate and use all the functions provided with this
software.
When you log in the camera using Internet Explorer for the first time, the Security Warning appears. Click
Yes and Install ActiveX control.
If Automatic configuration is enabled in the local Area Network (LAN) settings on Internet Explorer, the
image may not be displayed. In this case, disable Automatic Configuration and set the Proxy server manually.
For setting the Proxy server, consult your network administrator.

Configuration of Main Live View Page
When you login, the live view page is displayed. This section briefly explains the functions of the parts and
controls on the main viewer page. For a detailed explanation on each part of control, see the specified pages.
Live View Page
Image Control Section
The available functions are limited by user access right. You can change use access right on the Account
page.(see page 22)
You can control the monitor image from the image control section on the live view page.

Record & Stop
These buttons activate recording and stop recording the live image.
Click record button to start recording
Type the file name and specify the destination to
which is recording files is to be stored, and click
‘Save’ button.
(Check if the disk space is over 10MB or can’t
record))
The recording file is saved in every 10MB with
time lapse till the disk memory lessens below 10MB.
Click ‘stop’ button to finish recording.
Snapshot
Use the snapshot button to capture a snapshot of the image currently being displayed in the window.
To Save the captured image
Click the snapshot button on the image control
section. Then, the Save Picture dialog appears.
Image size
Enlarge the live image by 1/2, 1, 2 and 4times.(Resolution is not changed at all)

Panning and Tilting
You can pan and tilt the camera using the 8-direction arrow buttons.
Click to stop moving the camera. Observe the monitor image and click the
arrow button indicating the direction in which you want to move the camera. The

The image is saved in the BMP format.
(The Default file name dedicates the date, time

camera moves and the monitor image follow. Hold down the arrow button to move the direction of the
camera continuously.
Step button
You can control the scale of pan and tilt moving using step buttons. Press “S’ for slow and “F” for fast
moving.
Panning and Tilting by Clicking the Monitor Image
You can operate panning, titling and zooming of the camera by clicking the mouse on the monitor image.
Click on the monitor image and the camera move so that the clicked portion goes to the center of the display.
Zoom In / Out
You can operate high-magnification zoom, optical zoom of 22x and electronic zoom of x10, giving x 220 in
total.
Focus In / Out
Click to adjust the focus instantly.
This button is displayed when the focus mode menu on the Camera setting page is set to Manual.
Auto Focus
Automatically adjusts the image focus.(It is highly recommended user to set to Auto Focus for better use)
Move to Preset
These presets are selected on number in 10 buttons and from the 20 drop-down
Source list on the Live View page and will move and/or zoom the camera to a
pre-defined position, i.e. to cover an area of particular interest. For information
on setting up preset positions, please see “PTZ control” on Page 21.

Tour
You can program tour setting so that the camera moves to multiple preset positions in sequence (Tour).
Please see “PTZ control” on Page 21.
To stop the tour, press button in the center of ptz control.
Relay closed / Open
This Relay button control an output directly from the Live View page. Click this button to manually start
and stop a connected device, e.g. switch a light on/off.
Trigger On / Off
This button activate trigger setting manually
Once you press ‘Trigger On” the configured trigger condition and setting will be activated.
Admin Menu
Displays the Administrators menu. (See “Accessing the administrator Menu Page” on page 15 )
Only available for authorized user by administrator
Live Image Section
This section displays the video streaming in a dedicated resolution (320x240 as default for NTSC, 352x288
for PAL)
Camera Name and Location
You can configure the camera name and location in Layout page (see page on 29)
Date and Time
Show the time frame on live image.
Frame Rate
Display the frame rate per second in real time.
Simultaneous connected user number.
Display a connected user number simultaneously.
You can configure the entire layouts displayed on live image in Layout. (See page 29)

Configuring the Network Speed Dome camera
This section describes how to configure the Camera and is intended for the product Administrator who has
unrestricted access to all Setup tools.
The camera is configured under Setup from a standard browser.
Accessing the Administrator Tools
Follow the instructions below to access Setup Tools from a web browser.
1Start the Web browser and enter the IP address or domain name of the camera in the location/address.
2 Enter the “admin” for ID and Password in Login page.
Overview the Administrator Tools
The Administrator menu page is displayed when the user have access right entering one the Live View page
for Administrator.

Basic
This section is used for general camera setting including Network Settings, Dynamic DNS, Date and Time,
video and Ptz control option.
Network
This section provides the menus for connecting the camera through the Ethernet.
Device Name: Enter device name in your local network system.
Network Address
The IP address of the camera can be set automatically via DHCP, or a static IP address can be set manually.
IP, Subnet mask, Gateway Configuration
In case of using a fixed IP address, you must also enter the correct subnet mask and default gateway.
(If you have trouble configuring network system information, please ask your network administrator.)
DNS Configuration
DNS (Domain Name Service) provides the translation of host names of IP address on your network.
Obtain DNS server address via DHCP – automatically use the DNS server settings provided by the DHCP
server.
Primary DNS – Type the IP address of the primary DNS server.
Secondary DNS – Type the IP address of secondary DNS server, if necessary.

Type the port number for each server port within a limit.
Service Configuration
Configure the options for notification of IP address change. Click “Settings…” for configuration
DHCP is a protocol for automatic IP address assignment on a network. IP address assignment
Via DHCP may lead to the situation where the IP address changes and you lose contact.
Configure the options for notification of IP address change (under Services) to receive notification from the
network camera when the IP address changes.
Click ‘save’ to transfer the setting to the camera
Dynamic DNS
Use this page to configure Dynamic DNS setting under service use.
Service Use
Check Enable box when you use Dynamic DNS server.
IP, Subnet mask, Gateway Configuration
Dynamic DNS URL – Type the IP address or URL
ID & Password: Type the ID and Password registered in DNS service Web site
Camera URL: Type the camera URL registered in DNS service Web site
Status: See the Status if registration is succeeded.
Click “Save” to transfer the setting to the camera.
Your internet Service Provider (ISP) provides you at least one IP address which you use to
connect to the Internet. The address you get may be static, meaning it never changes, or dynamic,
meaning it’s likely to change periodically. Just how often it changes, depends on your ISP.

Date and Time
Current Camera Time
Displays the date and time set on the camera.
You can set the date and time using the following two methods.
When you purchased the camera, be sure to check the date and time of the camra and set
them if necessary.
Time Configuration
Set Manually
When you want to set the camera’s date and time manually.
You can enter yyyy-mm-dd(year-month-day) for date and hh-mm-ss(hour-minutes-second) for Time.
Automatically synchronized with NTP server.
Synchronizes the cameras’ time with that of the NTP (Network Time Protocol) server.
NTP server
Type the host name of IP address of the NTP server, up to 20 characters.
Time Zone
Set the time difference from Greenwich Mean Time in the area where the camera is installed. When you
send an E-mail, the sending date and time is adjusted according to this setting.
Select the time zone where the camera is installed from the drop-down list.
Adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time
Checks enable and then enter the start day and end day for daylight saving if desires.
Clicks ‘save’ to transfer to the setting to the camera.

Video
See how to set video format, image configuration, Color control.
Video Format
The video format allows the video format on the live View page to be changed.
You can select two different video formats of MPEG4 or JPEG. (The video configuration changes according
to the video format)
In JPEG mode, VBR is available only in image quality.
Image Size, Image Quality, Image Rotation
Image Size: Select the drop-down list from among 720x480, 640x480, 720x240x 640x240, 352x240,
320x240 and check VBR or CBR as you want.
Image Frame: Select the drop-down list from 30fps to 1fps.
Image quality: Select the drop-down list from Level 1 to 28 for image quality in VBR mode(Smaller level
numbers provides the better quality and means big data size) or select the bit rate in CBR mode.
Image rotation: Select the drop-down list for rotation of image.

Bit rate(CBR): Select the bit rate in CBR mode (As Bit rate is bigger, the image quality is better but frame
rate decreases)
Color Control
You can adjust the brightness, Contrast, Saturation and Hue seeing the live image at the right.
(It is highly recommended to set default value)
Direct Image Access
You can get the direct image from the camera with image name.
Type the image name in blank and get the jpg image from the direct link. (Only available in JPEG mode)
If you enter “TEST” in blank, you can get the direct JPEG image from the below access.
Ex) http://192.168.1.221/jpg/TEST.jpg
Clicks ‘save’ to transfer the setting to the camera.
