Allemployeescomingintocontactwithcontaminated

availableinnecessaryquantitiesandbeinpropercondition.
Reliablehandandsurfacedisinfectionmustbeensured.

Thebathliftandsomeofitscomponentsareveryheavy.If
thesepartsaredropped,theycancauseinjurytothefeet.

–Itisrecommendedtocheckthebathliftafter
24monthsatthelatest(inaccordancewith
ENISO10535)andthesuctioncupsmustbe
replaced.
–Checktheelectricalsafetyoftheproductin
linewithnationalrequirements.

1.Checktheseatplate,backrestplateandbaseplatefor
damageandensuretheyarecomplete.
2.Checkthesheararmsandglidingshoesbyliftingthem
andpushingthemtogetheragain.
3.Checktheboltsatthebearingsoftheseatplate/shear
armsandbaseplate/sheararms.
4.Examinethehandcontrolforanydamage.Replace
thehandcontrolifthehousingofthehandcontrolis
damagedorcracked.
5.Examinetheplug-inchargerforanydamage.
2.1.2Functioncheck
1.Useavoltmetertocheckthechargerforopen-circuit
voltagebetween24Vand26Vatthechargingpoles
ofthejackplug.
2.Checkthefunctionofthehandcontrolbypressingthe
stopanddirectionalbuttonatthesametime(thecharge
diodelightsup).Ifthehandcontrolisfullycharged,
theminimumnumberofliftsbythebathliftunder
maximumloadmustbeachievedwithoutrecharging
(ORCA,ORCAF:5lifts,ORCAXL:4lifts.
3.Raiseandlowerthebathliftundermaximumloadto
checkitsfunctionsandlistenforanyunusualnoises.

providedonthebackofthisservicemanual.
Beforetheconditioningdecisionismade,itshouldalsobe
veriedbeyondacriticalevaluationofobjectivefeasibility
thatthisissensiblefromaneconomicandecological
perspective,takingintoconsiderationtheriskassociated
withtheconditioninganduseofthemedicaldeviceand
theexpenseandqualityassurance,orwhetheritwouldbe
bettertodisposeofthemedicaldevice.

3.1Cleaninganddisinfection
Manualcleaninganddisinfectionproceduresmustalwaysbe
conductedinaccordancewithdocumentedworkinstructions
andwithmeansandprocessescheckedforeffectiveness
andtailoredtothemedicaldevice.Formechanicalcleaning
anddisinfectionproceduresitcanbeprocedurallyensured
thattheparametersnecessarytoattainquantiablecleaning
anddisinfectionperformancearecompliedwith.Inorder
toguaranteethecontinuousqualityofmanualand/or
mechanicalconditioningproceduresitmustbeprovenbyat
leastperiodicalchecksthattheprocedureisstilleffective
andnounintentionalchangeshavearisen.
Conditioningendswiththedocumentedapprovalforuseof
themedicaldevice.Thechainofactionsmustbeoptimized
asweaknessesinoneofthenecessaryindividualsteps
threatentheoverallsuccess.Transportandstoragemust
nothaveanegativeimpactonthecharacteristicsofthe
conditionedmedicaldevice.Duringtransportation,itmust
beensuredthatcontaminationofaconditionedornew
medicaldeviceisprecludeduntilitsusebymeansofstrict
separationofclean/uncleandevices.
Alldetergentsanddisinfectantsusedmustbeeffective,
compatiblewithoneanotherandbegentleonthematerials
used.Relevantcleaninganddisinfectionbathsmustbe
regularlyreplacedatdenedintervalsinordertoguarantee
theireffectiveness.Withrespecttocontacttimeand
concentration,thedisinfectantsusedmustcomplywith
thelistofdisinfectantsissuedby‘TheNationalInstitute
forClinicalExcellence’guidelinesonInfectionControl
www.nice.org.uk/CG139andyourlocalinfectioncontrol
policy.
Detergentsanddisinfectantsmustbeselectedinaccordance
withtheequipmentandfacilitiesavailableineachinstance
inordertoguaranteeareliablecleaningresult.
Exchangedproductsandproductcomponentsmustbe
disposedofinaccordancewiththeirrespectivematerial
composition.
Preparationforcleaning
1.Detachthebackrestfromtheseatplate.
2.Coverelectronicconnectionswithprotectivecapsto
ensurethatwatercannotgetin.
Cleaning
1.Removeanysupercialcontamination.
2.Treatallcomponentsofthebathlifterwithdetergent
andrinsedownwithcleanwater.
3.Replacethecoversorwashtheminthewashing
machineatamaximumtemperatureof60°C.
IMPORTANT!
Riskofdamage
–Washingathightemperaturescancause
shrinkage.
–Donotdrycoversinthetumbledryer.
4.Useauniversaldetergenttocleanthehandcontrol,
coversandchargerbyhand.
5.Allowallcomponentsofthebathliftertodryinthe
ambientairordryoffwithhandtowels.
6.Checkthesuctioncupsandsuctioncapsandreplace
ifnecessary.
Disinfection
1.Disinfecttheseatsurface,thefrontofthebackrestand
thehandcontrolbywipingthemdownwithdisinfectant.
2.Dryallcomponentsofthebathlifterintheambientair
orallowthemtodryintheairuntilthereisnomore
supercialmoistureontheproduct.

12.Storethedriveunitinasafeplace.

1.Placethedriveunitonthebackrestandslideitthrough
thelowergrooveP.

–Makesurethatthecurveofthespindlefoot
Ofacesupward.
2.FeedcableQunderthedrivetubeR.
3.InserttheheadendofdriveunitAwiththegroovein
crosspinNofthebackrest.
4.PositionjackplugSinreceiverTofthebackrest.
5.PlaceplugholderFontopandxitinplacewith
screwsG(torque1.5Nm).
6.Alignthespindlefootbyturningthedrivetube
appropriately.

sideswiththesmoothsidefacingupward.
8.PlacetubeclampBoverthedrivetube.
Makesurethattheraisedsurfaceofthetubeclamp
facestheupperendofthebackrest.
9.UsescrewsEandwashersDtoxthetubeclamp
(torque4.2Nm).
ORCA/ORCAXL:
10.PlacetherightandleftboltsLintothebackrestand
securethemwithcirclipsK.
IMPORTANT!
–Makesurethatthe“R”or“L”onthebolts
facesupward.
–Makesurethattheatsidesofthecirclips
faceoutwards.
11.Useacirclipringplierstotonesideofthecirclipring
ontheaxleorusetheexistingaxleIwithatted
circlipring.
12.PlacerollerJinthegrooveofthespindlefoot(ORCA
/ORCAXL).
13.Slidetheaxlethroughtheopeninginthespindlefoot
androllerandsecurewithasecondcirclipringH.
IMPORTANT!
–Ensurethatthecirclipringengages
correctly.
ORCAF:
14.Attachthehandcontrolandextendthespindlefoot
10cm.Placetherightandleftboltsintothebackrest
andsecurethemwiththecirclips.Theatsidesofthe
circlipsfaceinward.Retractthespindlefootagain.The
boltsaredrawninagainautomatically.
15.Useacirclipringplierstotonesideofthecirclipring
ontheaxleorusetheexistingaxleIwithatted
circlipring.
16.Slidetheaxlethroughtheopeninginthespindlefoot
andsecurewithasecondcirclipringH.
IMPORTANT!
–Ensurethatthecirclipringengages
correctly.

Removal
1.Retractthedrivecompletelyandremovethebackrest
support.
2.Pressdownontheredlatchtodeploythesheararms.
3.BreakoffthepinsonlockingboltsEbelowfrominside
usingaslotheadedscrewdriver,pushouttheboltsand
removethem.
ORCAXL:
RemovethecirclipsFfromthesteelboltsE,pushout
thesteelboltsandremovethem.
4.Removethebaseplatefromthesheararms.
5.BreakoffthepinsforglidingshoesCbelowfrominside
usingaslotheadedscrewdriver,pushouttheboltsand
removethem.
6.BreakoffthepinsforglidingshoesCabove,which
connectthefrontsheararmstotheseatplate.
7.BreakoffthepinsoflockingboltsEabove,which
connecttherearsheararmstotheseatplate,from
outsideusingaslotheadedscrewdriver;pushinthe
lockingboltsandremovethem.
ORCAXL:
RemovethecirclipsFfromthesteelboltsE,pushin
thesteelboltsandremovethem.
Fitting
1.Thesheararmsaremountedontheseatplateandbase
plateinreverseordertodisassembly.
