Beforetheconditioningdecisionismade,itshouldalsobe
veriedbeyondacriticalevaluationofobjectivefeasibility
thatthisissensiblefromaneconomicandecological
perspective,takingintoconsiderationtheriskassociated
withtheconditioninganduseofthemedicaldeviceand
theexpenseandqualityassurance,orwhetheritwouldbe
bettertodisposeofthemedicaldevice.

3.1Cleaninganddisinfection
Manualcleaninganddisinfectionproceduresmustalwaysbe
conductedinaccordancewithdocumentedworkinstructions
andwithmeansandprocessescheckedforeffectiveness
andtailoredtothemedicaldevice.Formechanicalcleaning
anddisinfectionproceduresitcanbeprocedurallyensured
thattheparametersnecessarytoattainquantiablecleaning
anddisinfectionperformancearecompliedwith.Inorder
toguaranteethecontinuousqualityofmanualand/or
mechanicalconditioningproceduresitmustbeprovenbyat
leastperiodicalchecksthattheprocedureisstilleffective
andnounintentionalchangeshavearisen.
Conditioningendswiththedocumentedapprovalforuseof
themedicaldevice.Thechainofactionsmustbeoptimized
asweaknessesinoneofthenecessaryindividualsteps
threatentheoverallsuccess.Transportandstoragemust
nothaveanegativeimpactonthecharacteristicsofthe
conditionedmedicaldevice.Duringtransportation,itmust
beensuredthatcontaminationofaconditionedornew
medicaldeviceisprecludeduntilitsusebymeansofstrict
separationofclean/uncleandevices.
Alldetergentsanddisinfectantsusedmustbeeffective,
compatiblewithoneanotherandbegentleonthematerials
used.Relevantcleaninganddisinfectionbathsmustbe
regularlyreplacedatdenedintervalsinordertoguarantee
theireffectiveness.Withrespecttocontacttimeand
concentration,thedisinfectantsusedmustcomplywith
thelistofdisinfectantsissuedby‘TheNationalInstitute
forClinicalExcellence’guidelinesonInfectionControl

policy.
Detergentsanddisinfectantsmustbeselectedinaccordance
withtheequipmentandfacilitiesavailableineachinstance
inordertoguaranteeareliablecleaningresult.
Exchangedproductsandproductcomponentsmustbe
disposedofinaccordancewiththeirrespectivematerial
composition.
Preparationforcleaning
1.Detachthebackrestfromtheseatplate.
2.Coverelectronicconnectionswithprotectivecapsto
ensurethatwatercannotgetin.
Cleaning
1.Removeanysupercialcontamination.
2.Treatallcomponentsofthebathlifterwithdetergent
andrinsedownwithcleanwater.
3.Replacethecoversorwashtheminthewashing
machineatamaximumtemperatureof60°C.
IMPORTANT!
Riskofdamage
–Washingathightemperaturescancause
shrinkage.
–Donotdrycoversinthetumbledryer.
4.Useauniversaldetergenttocleanthehandcontrol,
coversandchargerbyhand.
5.Allowallcomponentsofthebathliftertodryinthe
ambientairordryoffwithhandtowels.
6.Checkthesuctioncupsandsuctioncapsandreplace
ifnecessary.
Disinfection
1.Disinfecttheseatsurface,thefrontofthebackrestand
thehandcontrolbywipingthemdownwithdisinfectant.
2.Dryallcomponentsofthebathlifterintheambientair
orallowthemtodryintheairuntilthereisnomore
supercialmoistureontheproduct.
