Warranty
The DVR E press Core 2 MAX recorder is warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase unless
otherwise agreed in writing. If the product proves to be defective during this warranty period, IO
Industries Inc. will, at its discretion, either repair or replace the product at no cost. In the case where
a new device is to be provided but the product has been discontinued, a product with similar or
better performance capabilities and features will be provided. This warranty shall not apply to any
damage, defect or failure caused by improper use or inadequate maintenance of the product. This
warranty does not apply to the removable VidIO Drive Modules. A separate warranty is provided for
these modules. The details for this warranty are provided in section 3.12.

1 Quick Start Checklist
1 Gather Required Components
a) DVR E press Core 2 MAX recorder and a suitable AC power adapter.
b) Cameras, camera power supplies, video interface cables as needed.
c) eSATA cable or USB 3.0 to eSATA adapter.
d) Control PC with eSATA or USB 3.0 interface.
e) Software CD provided with recorder.
2 Connect Components
a) Connect cameras to recorder using camera interface cables.
Camera Link cameras are not hot-pluggable!
Power off the camera or recorder before making connections.
b) Connect power to cameras.
c) Connect recorder to Control PC using eSATA cable or USB 3.0 to eSATA adapter.
d) Connect power to recorder.
e) The recorder immediately turns on when the power supply is connected. To turn off the recorder, press and hold
the power button for 2 seconds. As long as the power supply remains connected, the recorder can be turned on
with a single press of the power button.
See "Specifications" on page 4 for a list of video formats supported by the various models.
For power requirements, see "Power Input " on page 5.
3 Install software on Control PC
a) Insert the software CD in the PC.
b) Open the “Software” folder then the “CoreView” folder.
c) Run the installer to install CoreView and the necessary supporting files.
•64-bit installer: core_x64.exe
•3 -bit installer: core.e e
Notes:
• The software must be installed using a Windows account that has Administrator privileges on the PC.
• The PC may need to be restarted following installation.
• 64-bit software will not run on a PC with a 32-bit Windows operating system.
For more information on installing the software, see "Software Installation" on page 59.
4 Launch CoreView from the Windows Start Menu
64-bit: All Programs → IO Industries → DVR E press → Core 64 → CoreView
3 -bit: All Programs → IO Industries → DVR E press → Core → CoreView
If CoreView does not detect any recorders, see "Detecting a Connected Recorder" on page 58.
5 Follow the steps in the New Camera Wizard to add cameras to CoreView
6 Click the “Live” button to test camera connections
Verify that images are being received from the attached cameras.
For help, press “F1” to open the CoreView User Guide.
The system is now ready to record video!

2 Introduction
The DVR E press Core 2 MAX recorder is a second generation advanced digital video recorder that
records uncompressed video directly to removable solid state storage. It functions as a peripheral
device that is configured and operated by a separate control computer. Models are available that
support several industry-standard video formats. Each model can record from one or more video
sources. Multiple recorders can be synchronized together to create a multi-camera video recording
system.
