UP:Pressandholdtheupbuonunlthepadlockicon( )appearstoenablethebuonlock.The
almeterwillnotrespondtoanybuonpressesunlthebuonlockhasbeendisable.
SELECT:PressandholdtheSelectbuontoenterthemainmenu.
DOWN:Pressandholdthedownbuonunlthepadlockicon( )disappearstodisablethebuonlock.

❏FollowcharginginstruconsandallowthealmetertofullychargeBEFOREmakingaskydivewiththealmeter.
❏TurnunitonbypressingtheSelectbuon

❏Mountthealmeterinaneasytoseelocaonthatdoesnothinderyourabilitytosafelyskydive.
❏ToaachthealmetertoawriststrapfromElementalTechnologies,followdireconsincludedwiththestrap.
❏Ifusingasanaudible,gototheseconSengAlarmsandfollowinstrucons.Ensurethebuonlockisenabled
beforeplacingthealmeterinyourhelmet.
❏Ifyouareusingthealmeterduringhighperformancecanopymaneuvers,disabletheautozerofunconfor
maximumaccuracy.
Note:forthebestaudioclaritytheIonshouldbemountedsothatthescreenisfacingAWAYfromyourear.
3. Charging
3.1. HowtoCharge
Tocharge,insertthemicroUSBcableintothemicroUSBportonthesideoftheunit(SeeFig.3a).Makesurethe
chargingicon( )isdisplayed.Leavecablepluggedinunlthechargingicondisappearsindicangchargingiscomplete.
Note:Acompletechargecyclewilltake1.5hours.Rechargingaeratypicaldayofjumpingshouldtake15‐30minutes.

Thecurrentbaerylevelisdisplayedintheboomrighthandcornerofthelcddisplay.Refertothechartbelow

4. AltitudeScreen
4.1. Alongtheboomofthealtudescreenisaninfobarcontainingthefollowinginformaon:
CurrentTime:currentmein24hourformat.Tosettheme,gotothesengsmenuandselectSetDate/Time
BacklightIndicator:Onlydisplayswhenbacklightison.Toturnthebacklighton/offortochangebrightnesslevel,
gototheBacklightmenu.Note:Aerasystemreset,backlightdefaultstoOff.
Units:ofdatadisplayed‐Tochangetheunits,gotothesengsmenuandselectUnits.
UnitsMultiplier:Showswhattomulplytheshorteneddisplayeddatabytogettheactualdatanumber.
ButtonLock:Ifthepadlockicon( )iconispresent,buonlockisenabled.Toenablethisfeaturepressandhold
theUpbuon.TodisablethisfeaturepressandholdtheDownbuon.
ChargingIndicator:Thechargingicon( )indicatestheunitiscurrentlycharging.Whenthelighteningbolt
symbolisnotpresent,theunitiseitherfinishedchargingorthecablehasbeenremoved.
BatteryLevelIndicator:Displayscurrentbaerypowerlevel.Refertothechartinsecon3.2formore
informaon.
CurrentAltitude:Thecurrentaltudeisdisplayedas3digits.Refertotheunitmulpliertodeterminethe
altudeabovethezerooffset.

5. Menu
Themainmenuconsistofthefollowingitemsarrangedinarotanglist:ExitMenu,Zero,Backlight,PowerOff,
Alarms,Logging,Sengs,andUSBUpdate.Pleaserefertothecorrespondingseconsbelowfordetailsoneach
item.Toexitthemenuandreturntothealtudedisplay,selectthe“ExitMenu”opon.
5.1. Zero
Thezeroscreenallowsyoutosetthegroundlevelaltudeoffsettothecurrentaltude.Touse,selectthe
“Zero”oponfromthemainmenu.AerenteringtheZeroscreen,select“Zero”toconfirmandpressSelect.
Thealmeterwillreturntothealtudescreen.
Note:
❏ThisfunconisavailableregardlessoftheAutoZeroseng.
❏IfLandingatadifferentelevaonfromwhereyoutookoff,itmaybenecessarytoperformazeroaer
landing.
❏Whenpoweringonthealmeteratthebeginningofthedayitmaybenecessarytoperformazeroeven
ifAutoZeroisset.
5.2. Backlight
Illuminatesthescreenforlowlightcondion.Thebrightnessofthebacklightisadjustablefrom1(lowest)to5
(highest).Select“Backlight”totogglethebacklightonandoff.PressingtheSelectbuonwhile“Brightness”is
selectedwillcyclethroughtheavailablebrightnesslevels.Thebacklighticon( )willbedisplayedonthe
altudescreenwhenthebacklightisenabled.
Note:
❏Enablingthebacklightforextendedperiodsofmewillreducethebaerylife.Ensureyouhavefully
chargedbaerybeforeusingthebacklight.

5.3. PowerOff
Thealmeterwillturnoffautomacally4hoursaerthelastjump.Poweringoffthedevicemanuallyaerthe
lastjumpofthedaywillmaximizebaerylifeandpreventpossibledamagetotheinternalbaery
Topoweroffscrolldownto“PowerOff”thenpressandreleasetheselectbuon.

❏Toturnthealmeterbackon,pressandreleasetheseleconbuon.
5.4. Alarms
Upto99audiblealarmsmaybeset.Eachalarmconsistofanaltudewindowandalarmtype.Duringfreefallor
undercanopythealarmwillbeacvewhilewithinthealtudewindow.UsetheUpandDownbuonstoscroll
throughthealarms.Scrollingpastthelastitemwillshowthenextpageofalarms.Toreturntothemainmenu,
scrollupunlthe“MainMenu”oponappears.Setoreditanalarmbyscrollingtothealarminthealarmlist
andpressingSelect.
5.4.1. SetAlarm
ChangingAltitude:UsetheUpandDownbuonstochangetheselectedaltude.PresstheSelect
buontoadvancetothenextvalue.
ChangingSound:UsetheUpandDownbuonstochangethealarmsound.Whenchangingsounds,a
previewofthesoundwillplay.PresstheSelectbuontosavethealarmandreturntothealarmlist
screen.Ifthealarmsoundissetto“DELETE”,pressingtheSelectbuonwillclearthealarmandreturn
tothealarmlistscreen.

5.5. Logging
Thetotalnumberofjumpsappearsattheboomofthescreen.Toviewindividualjumpsummaries,scrollto
“ViewSavedLogs”andpressSelect.
5.5.1. SavedLogsList
UsingtheUpandDownbuons,scrollthroughthelistofloggedjumps.Jumpsarelistedbytheorderinwhich
theywerelogged.TheJumpnumber,Date,andTimeofjumparedisplayed.Toreturntothepreviousscreen,
scrollupunl“LoggingMenu”oponappearsandpressSelect.
5.5.2. ViewIndividualJumps
SelecngaLogentryfromtheloglistwilldisplaythejumpsummaryforthatjump.Exitaltude,Deployment
altude,Maximumspeed,Maximumacceleraon(Gforce)asreportedbytheinternalaccelerometer,andFree
Fallmearedisplayed.
Note:
❏Highperformancecanopypilotsmayseealowerthanactualdeploymentaltude.
❏Wingsuitpilotsmayseehigherthanactualdeploymentaltude.
❏MaxAcceleraonworksbestwhenthealmeterismountedinsidethehelmet.
❏Loggingisanexperimentalfeatureandwillbeexpandedinfuturesowareupdates.

UsetheUpandDownbuonstoscrollthroughtheavailableopons.PressSelecttochangetheselectedopon.
Units:ThedeviceisabletomeasurealtudeinFeetorMeters.Note:Changingthissengwillchangetheunitsforthe
enresystem(alarms,logging,Altudescreen,etc).
AutoZero:Controlsifthealmeterwillautomacallytrackgradualchangestotheambientairpressureandadjustthe
groundoffsetaltude.
OFF:Thealmeterwillnottrackpressurechangesautomacally
ON:Thealmeterwilltrackpressurechangesautomacally
Note:
❏WithAutoZerodisabled,theuserisresponsibleforzeroingthealmetertoaccountforambientpressure
changes.
❏HighperformancecanopypilotsshouldsetAutoZerotoOFFformaximumaccuracy.
❏ThegroundoffsetaccuracyisreducedwithAutoZeroenabled.
SetDate/Time:Displaysasubmenutosetthemeanddateforthedevice.Intheeventofacompletelydrainedbaery
themeanddatemayneedtobeset.
AdvancedSettings:Displaysasubmenuwiththefollowingopons.
CurrentJump#:Settheuser'scurrentnumberofjumps.
DeleteAllLogs:Clearalllogsfromtheinternalmemory
ResetSettings:Resetssengstodefault
FactoryReset:Clearsalllogsandresetssengstodefault

7.1. HardResetProcedure
Performahardresetbyusingathin,non‐metallictooltopresstheresetbuononthebackofthealmeter,seefig.7a.
Pressandholdtheresetbuonforatleastonesecond.Ensurethebuonsonthefrontofthealmeterarenot
depressedwhileperformingahardreset.Performingahardresetwillnotdeletesavedlogsoralarms.
