A. POWER ON/OFF
The meter automaticallypowers when
the key ispressed. Press the
ON/HOLD key to takea reading.
Read the measuredtemperature on
the LCD. (Fig.A)The meter powers
OFF automatically approximately4
seconds after theON/HOLD key is
released.

B. SELECTING UNITS (C/F)

Select temperature units(degrees C

or F) by firstpressing the ON/HOLD
key and thenpressing the C/F key.
The units willblink on theLCD.(Fig.B)
Press the C/Fkey again toswitch the
unit (scale) again.SeeFig. C.
C. DATA HOLD
This meter automaticallyholds the last
temperature reading onthe LCD for
five seconds afterthe ON/HOLD key is
released. No extrakey presses are
necessary to freezethe displayed
reading.(Fig.D)
D. BACKLITE LCD
Select backlite byfirst pressing the
ON/HOLD key and thenpressing the
BACKLITE key. Repeat the procedure
to turn thebacklight OFF

Toturn the laserpointer ON, pressthe
LASER key while pressingthe
ON/HOLD key.(Fig.E) Press the
LASER key again toturn the laser
OFF.(Fig.F)
Holding the meterby its handle,point
the IR Sensortoward the object
whose temperature isto be measured.
The meter automaticallycompensates
for temperature deviationsfrom
ambient temperature. Keepin mind
that it willtake up to30 minutes to
adjust to wideambient temperature
changes.When low temperaturesare
to be measuredfollowed by high
temperature measurements,
some time (severalminutes) is required
after the low(and before thehigh)
temperature measurements aremade.

Meter does notturn on.
Check voltage andreplace the low
battery . Orcheck time delaywhich
is allowed 1second for datato
appear on-screen.
Data flashing orlaser comes on
but no dataappears . "BAT "

Check battery voltageand then
replace low battery. Make sureyou
have correctly putthe battery in
the right polarity.
Dashes appear on-screen.
Check extreme temperature,
measure surrounding areato see
if the targetexceeds the limit.

A flashing displayis the indicationthat
the battery voltagehas fallen intothe
critical region (6.5to 7.5 V).Reliable
readings can beobtained for several
hours after thefirst appearance ofthe
low battery indication.(Fig.G)
Open the BatteryCompartment and
remove the battery, then installa new
battery and replacethe cover.

Case cleaning :
Use caution witha damp clothto clean
the exterior housing, ensure nowater
or soap isallowed inside themeter ,or
on the infraredlens.
Lens cleaning :
WARNING : Recommend toclean the
lens after atime of periodusing the
meter and makesure the lensis clean
enough to ensurethe reading accuracy.
By using lowpressure compressed air
to remove anyparticles on thelens ,
if the contaminationcan not be
removed with air, use asoft cotton
swab .
Any swab shouldbe slightly damp,
and very lightpressure should be
applied to thelens.
Do not usesolvents to cleanthe lens.

The meter iswarranted to be free from
defects in material and workmanship
for a periodof one yearsfrom the date
of purchase.
This warranty covers normal operation
and does notcover batteries,misuse,
abuse, alteration, tampering, neglect,
improper maintenance, or damage
resulting from leaking batteries.
Proof of purchase is required for
warranty repairs.

the supplier beforereturning items for
any reason .
When requiring aRA (Return
Authorization) , pleaseinclude data
regarding the defectivereason, the
meters are tobe returned alongwith
good packing toprevent any damagein
shipment and insuredagainst possible
damage or loss.
