Installation
Since every radiant heating system is designed
according to customer specifications it is
important that prior to installation the
completed design is evaluated to fit your
application. Check dimensions of the complete
system, the positioning of brackets and fixations,
the cable feedthrough compatibility, the sensor
types and positions and the flexible connections
and lead length for termination.
The heating systems are designed for fixed
stationary use only. Ensure that the heating
system is installed properly and protected
against any mechanical damage or dynamic
forces during operation.
The system is usually designed ready to be
installed. In many cases some additional work
has to be performed due to the given
installation method or minor variations coming
out of the design approval phase. Do not try to
rework the units unless officially reviewed and
approved by an expert.
Minor changes like additional bending of the
heating cables or the mineral insulated cold
leads are possible but have to follow the cable
type specifications. Please contact us for any
information if necessary. (see contact
information on last page)
Operation
Prior to connection of the product, please follow
the steps under Installation and ensure that the
supply voltage matches the product data label
or the product specifications out of the
accompanied documents, respectively. When
connecting the product, the requirements of the
standards listed in “General Safety Instructions”
and “Additional Safety Instructions” have to be
observed.
Please always refer to the technical data sheet
or product specification to ensure you operate
the product within its design limitations. It has
to be ensured that this temperature is never
exceeded at any point of the product,
irrespective of whether it is switched on or off.
Proper operation of the temperature controlling
and limiting devices has to be checked at initial
operation. After initial operation the inspections
have to be documented.
The heating system must always and only be
operated temperature controlled unless
otherwise stated and approved. It is highly
recommended to use a temperature limiting
device for a maximum in safety for the
application and to ensure not to exceed the
heating cables maximum withstand
temperatures during operation.
Maintenance and Safety
Maintenance and Safety is performed according
to the standards listed under "General Safety
Instructions” and “Additional Safety
Instructions”, the regulations of the employer's
liability insurance associations applicable to the
respective way of use, as well as other relevant
rules applying to the application. The operation
of the system should be checked for correct
functionality. The electrical supply should be
checked to ensure it conforms to the system
design documentation.
At least once per year the function of the
temperature controlling and temperature
limiting safety device has to be checked and the
surface and connection line should be inspected
for visible damage.
Warning labels and identification labels should
be clearly visible, intact and able to display the
correct information.
ISOPAD radiant heating systems
operate at high temperatures and therefore
special protection and precautions may be
necessary during operation.
Note:
There should never be any open or short circuits
amongst the product. Check to ensure that the
system design documentation reflects the
installation and any changes that have
occurred.
Regarding temperature, the products are
manufactured out of special materials with
