0.1 INTRODUCTION
This manual shows and describes the information needed to ensure the machine is used properly
and works correctly.
The manual also contains all instructions needed to properly install and service the machine.
CAUTION
All technicians in charge of operating the machine are required to consult this
manual carefully before any work on the machine and/or its packaging.
The descriptions and illustrations contained in this manual are not binding, except for the essential
characteristics of the type of machine described. The company reserves the right to make any
change deemed necessary to improve the product for construction or marketing reasons, at any
time and without the obligation to update this manual immediately.
I.S.V.E. reserve all copyrights regarding this manual.
0.2 KEEPING THE MANUAL
The manual is an integral part of the machine and therefore, must always accompany the
machine, even when the machine is sold. This manual should be kept in an accessible place
known to all operators and maintenance workers.
Please ensure that:
- The manual is not damaged during use.
- Parts of this manual are not torn, removed or rewritten.
- The manual is kept in a place protected against heat and moisture.
- Should the manual be updated, once the changes are introduced, it must be immediately
distributed to the personnel that carry out the different tasks on the machine. The old
document must be disposed of.

0.3 MANUAL CONSULTATION AND SEARCH CRITERIA
The manual is divided into chapters; each chapter groups per subject all the information needed to
use the machine safely.
Chapters are in turn divided into sections dealing with key points. Each section may include
different subsections with a subtitle and a description.
The chapter is introduced by a right page bearing the chapter number and title.
Let’s take Chapter 1 as an example; each chapter will have:

This manual includes some optional units that may be used in combination with the machine, upon
customer's request. Therefore, the description of some parts may not apply in fact to your
machine.
Page numbering restarts in each chapter. The prefix of the chapter and the sequence page
number are shown; the number sequence starts from 1 at the beginning of each chapter
The list of chapters is included in the general table of contents to facilitate reading the manual.
This document has been compiled to provide thorough information and aid technicians and our
customers to work with the machine.
Remarks on safety and proper functioning
Texts in boxes refer to:
- Alerts on potential hazards to the operator.
- Supplementary notes about the operation in progress.
- The possibility that the machine may be damaged.

0.4 INTENDED READERS
The manual is especially intended to personnel working with the machine such as:
Operator/ Driver of lifting and handling equipment:
Operator qualified to use equipment to lift and handle materials and machinery (strictly following
the manufacturer’s instructions) in compliance with the legislation in force in the country where the
machine is used.
Machine Operator:
Operator without specific skills who can perform simple tasks, that is, to operate the machine via
the control panel (that is, feed the machine with the material to be crushed and collect granules).
The machine must be completely closed and the protection devices fitted and activated.
The operator is required to have good general education and good technical knowledge to a
sufficient level to read and understand the contents of the material as well as interpret drawings
correctly.
Mechanical Operator/ Maintenance Technician:
Qualified technician that can start and operate the machine given normal situations, work on
mechanical parts to adjust, service and repair them. NOT AUTHORISED TO WORK ON LIVE
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS.
Electrical Operator/ Maintenance Technician:
Qualified technician that can operate the machine and ensure its proper functioning under normal
conditions; in charge of all electrical works involving adjusting, servicing and repairing the
machine. CAN WORK INSIDE POWERED ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURES AND JUNCTION
BOXES.
Operators/ Maintenance technicians must be chosen following the same criteria as for machine
operators. They are also required to have specific and specialised (mechanical and electrical)
technical knowledge needed to safely perform the operations specified in this manual.
Besides, operators/ maintenance technicians must know the general accident prevention
regulations (health and safety at work, prevention of occupational accidents) in force in the country
where the machine will be used.
IMPORTANT
The company that will use the machine must check that the persons appointed to
each task:
- Meet the requirements listed above;
- Are properly trained and skilled for the task assigned so that the task is safely
carried out;
- Are specifically trained on how to use the machine correctly.

1.1 WARRANTY
1. Goods are covered by a 24 (twenty-four)-month warranty up to a maximum of two thousands
hours of operation of the machine, starting on the date goods are delivered. Parts that are
subject to regular wear and tear are not covered by the warranty. The warranty shall expiry
when one of the two terms (months or hours) applies.
2. The electrical and/or electronic components are covered by the warranties issued by the
manufacturers of each component.
3. The warranty does not cover for tear and wear of moving parts.
4. Parts that may become faulty during operation must be sent to the supplier’s facilities, free of
charge, to be inspected.
5. While the warranty is valid, the supplier is obliged only to replace or repair, to his sole
discretion, those parts that may be faulty due to workmanship defects.
6. Under no circumstances shall the supplier be held liable for direct or indirect damage
resulting from improper use of the machinery. In the same way, a machine stop shall not
entitle the user to ask the supplier for any compensation for loss of potential profit or works.
7. The warranty does not cover any direct or indirect damage resulting from:
a. Lack of maintenance;
b. Insufficient, incorrect or no lubrication/ greasing;
c. Use of greases/ lubricants that do no meet the specifications indicated;
d. Use of non-original and non-conforming components/ spare parts;
e. Failure to follow the safety rules contained in the Use Manual;
f.Damaging, changing or altering:
i. Safety devices;
ii. Electrical panel;
iii. Electric, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits;
g. Machine being used by unskilled and/or unauthorised personnel.
8. The purchaser shall strictly follow the instructions described in the Use Manual supplied
together with the machine.
9. Repairs made under warranty by the seller’s technicians will be free of charge in terms of
labour and parts. All travel and board and lodging expenses of the technician(s) and all costs
incurred to ship the parts shall be borne by the purchaser.
10. Replacement of parts and/or components and/or any repairs shall not extend the warranty.
11. The warranty does not cover damages to the machine resulting from the falling (even if
accidentally) of parts that are not properly loaded and that may damage moving parts
(spraying arcs forward motion system, loading carriage, product carrying pipes, etc). All
costs incurred to restore the operating conditions of the machine shall be borne by the
purchaser. Therefore, utmost care should be paid when loading the machine.
EXCLUSIONS
Should a fault occur, this does not entitle the purchaser to stop paying as agreed. Failure to pay
shall render the warranty null and void. The selling company and/or the manufacturer shall not be
held liable for any direct or indirect damage, production downtime and/or any other reason
whatsoever.

2.1 DESCRIPTION OF MACHINE
Our drying plants have been fully revised recently. Significant innovations have been introduced
that turn our range of machines into one of the most advanced in the market today.
The core of the plant is the control system: it is no longer based on dedicated printed circuit
boards, as in the Vacutronic, but rather on high-end products that are easy to find in international
markets.
The PLCs used are state-of-the-art Siemens PLCs.
State-of-the-art Siemens PLC
(S7-1200)
The core of the heating system is an advanced power controller that heat timber with absolute
precision.
This device can control several areas independently and distributes heat where it is needed
in order to ensure that the drying process is uniform. During this heating step up to 30%
more energy can be saved compared with the previous system.
The operation cycles are saved in different work programs that can be easily used by the operator.

2.4 AMBIENT CONDITIONS ALLOWED
The machine is to be installed and used inside a closed room; the ambient conditions of such
room must be the regular suitable conditions so that operators can work and the product can be
made. Therefore, the machine must not be installed in atmospheres contaminated with steams or
gases, suspended particulates, bacteria, insects or any other element that may compromise the
conditions for both product and operators.
A room temperature ranging between +5 °C and +40 °C is recommended so that the machine can
work properly.
2.5 OPERATING CLEARANCE
The machine must positioned in such a way that there is a clear space around it, as per the
distances shown in the figure above, so that an operator or an operator with some tools can easily
reach the machine and its parts for any operations or maintenance tasks.

3.1 GENERAL RULES
I.S.V.E. have taken utmost care when designing this range of machines so that they are as safe
as possible; they are equipped with all guards, protections and safety devices deemed necessary.
In brief, all information has been supplied so that the machines are safely and properly used.
As regards the ‘lighting of the working environment’, the room where the machine is installed
should have no areas of shadow, no irritating dazzle or dangerous stroboscopic effects due to the
lighting present.
The rooms should have good ventilation and, if applicable, a suitable evacuation system.
The machine must be operated only by qualified operators. It has been built to shred plastic scrap
or similar materials. Materials other than those specified can be used only after a permit in writing
is issued by I.S.V.E. If there is no such permit, the manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage
to the machine or things and/or injury to people and animals.
Operators, maintenance and cleaning personnel, control staff, etc. shall behave in strictly
compliance with the accident prevention regulations of the country where the machine will be
used. Operators are advised to wear clothing suitable for the work place and the situation they are
in.
Machine operators or maintenance workers are advised to pay utmost care with the clothes they
wear. They must not wear:
- Garments with straps that could get entangled in some machine parts.
- Ties or any other hanging/ loose items of clothing;
- Bulky rings or bracelets that may cause hands to get caught by the machine components.
Before starting to work, the operator must perfectly know the position and functioning of all the
controls as well as the characteristics of the machine.
NB:
REFER TO SECTION 0.4 FOR OPERATOR QUALIFICATION
The machine must be at a standstill and power cut off for routine and
supplementary maintenance as well as cleaning tasks.
It is good practice to follow the general installation and connection rules for electrical connections;
only qualified personnel should be in charge of such connections.
It is strictly forbidden to tamper with the safety devices installed in the machine;
All use and safety operations on the machine must strictly follow the instructions supplied in the
relevant descriptions;
Never modify any part of the machine for any reason whatsoever. Should the machine
malfunction, I.S.V.E. shall not be liable for any problem resulting from failing to observe the rules
above.
It is advisable to ask the manufacturer for an authorisation should you need to make any changes
to the machine.
Use a clean and dry cloth or a cloth moistened with a soft cleaning solution to clean the machine
coatings, panels and controls. Never use any kind of solvents, such as alcohol or petrol, since they
can spoil the surfaces;

REMARK
Qualified personnel means personnel that have attended specialisation, education
and training courses, and have experience in installing, starting, using and servicing
machinery.
3.2 INTENDED USE, UNINTENDED USE AND MISUSE
3.2.1 Intended use
The machine to which this manual relates has been designed to dry semi-finished wood products
of different types of timber species.
3.2.2 Unintended use
Using this machine to treat materials not specified in the terms of the agreement or to obtain
results out of the scope of the provisions shall be regarded as an UNINTENDED USE, and
therefore, an INCORRECT use.
I.S.V.E. shall not be held liable for any damage to people or things resulting from the
incorrect use of the machine and shall regard any warranty on the machine to be null and
void.

3.3 SAFETY DEVICES
The machine is equipped with safety devices that protect both workers and the machine itself.
Users are warned not to remove or tamper with these devices.
Emergency Stop push-buttons
The emergency STOP push-button, Fig. 03-00, is a mushroom-head red push-button on a yellow
background that is found in the control panel and on the side of the machine. This push-button is
used every time an emergency situation arises. If pressed, it immediately stops all moving parts.
