OWNER’S MANUAL
Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the JAS Audio Orior line of speakers.
JAS Audio speakers are designed and manufactured to the highest quality
standards. The Orior line of speakers combines ribbon and dynamic driver
technologies to produce a line of world-class speaker in performance and
appearance.
The Orior line of speakers features a unique aluminum twin-ribbon tweeter
that produces extremely clean and quick transients as well as enormous
soundstage both in width and depth. The choice of dynamic bass/midrange
drive units for each model is diligently done in effort to allow seamless
integration with the twin-ribbon tweeter. The result is yielding the lowest
coloration and maximum tonal definition.

Unpacking Inspection
The tweeter of JAS Orior speaker is protected with a Transparent-Protective-
Sheet to prevent damaging on the Tweeter Unit
(Dispersion Board + Driver Net)*.
Customers are recommended to remove the
Transparent-Protective-Sheet immediately before
using or installing on your listening system!
Well prepared before Settling
Two caution on your speakers’near placing:
I. Do not place any kinds of metal pieces, such as: keys, needles,
staples... etc. near or closed to the Orior's tweeter units, because the
magnetic field can cause a strong attractive force to damage the
speaker.
II. Do not use vacuum cleaner on the speaker drivers; on the other hand,
do not direct coupling the speaker drivers by strong air via
compression gun. Any extreme blowing may damage the speakers.
*If you feel the speakers sounded very muffled and distant (abnormal); as if,
please double check all tweeter unit were covered by the Transparent-
Protective-Sheets or not?

Connections – Initial installation
The cables used to connect the speakers to the power amplifier can have a
significant effect on the sound of your audio system. Your authorized JAS
Audio dealer can recommend the appropriate speaker cables for your audio
system setup.
Each speaker has two terminals on the rear panel. The terminals are binding
posts that accept either spade lugs, pins and banana plugs.
Make sure the cables connected to both speakers are in phase with each
other: connect the (+) binding post on the amplifier to the (+) terminal on the
speaker, and the (-) binding post on the amplifier to the (-) terminal on the
speaker.

Speaker Stands
Some speaker stands are hollow and have access holes that can be used to
fill in with sand, lead shot, or some other heavy material. These filler
material make the speaker stands more stable (because the center of
gravity will be close to the floor) and offer solid reference to the
mechanical moving parts of the speakers, thus provide better vibration
isolation and damping effect. In this general results in overall improved the
sonic performance over the speaker's dynamic range.
Speaker Stands with height ranging from 18
"
- 26
"
is recommended, you
should note that the optimum stand height is the one that places your ears/
seating height approximately 1
"
above the top edge of speaker.
Many speaker owners use adhesive material; such as, Blu-Tack (Bostik
Brand) / Sticky-Tack to attach the bottom of the speakers to the top of the
stands. This reduces the chances of the speakers being accidentally knocked
off the stands thus damaging the speakers. If adhesive is used, place a
small piece of adhesive under each corner of the speaker where it makes
contact with the speaker platform.
Caution: Removing speaker from the speaker stand or removing adhesive
from the speaker may cause damage to the surface of the speaker. Do so
with great care.
Speaker Placement
The JAS Orior speakers can produce excellent sound in any location.
Therefore you should use these guidelines as a starting point and make
minor adjustments to the position of the speakers and other objects in the
room until you find the combinations that sound best to you.
As a general rule, the distance between the front plane of the speakers and
the front wall of your listening room should be approximately 20% of the
total length of the room; the distance from each speaker to the closest side
wall should be about 20% of the total width of the room. The distance from
the listener's chair or couch to the wall behind the listener should be about
the same as the distance between the speakers and the front wall.

This figure shows the relative
position of the two speakers and
the listening position. The front of
each speaker should be angled
toward the listening position.
( Result might vary depending on
the room acoustic conditions,
desirable result can be achieved
by continuous tweaking.)
Running-in Period
The performance of the speaker will change subtly during the initial
listening period. The drive unit suspensions will loosen up during the first
hour of use and continue to loosen up until it reaches its optimal operation
state. The time taken for the speaker to achieve its intended performance will
vary depending on the environment and its previous storage conditions as
well as how it is used. As a guide, allow up to a week for the temperature
effects to stabilize and 15 hours of average use for the mechanical parts to
attain their intended design characteristics. And up to 300 hours of use to
reach its optimal condition.
Aftercare
To prevent damage to the delicate ribbon driver of your JAS speakers, do
not vacuum the front grille cloth panel when it is mounted on the speakers.
Always remove the grille cloth panels before cleaning the grille.
The high quality clear sealed piano finish of the wood cabinet surface only
requires dusting. If needed, a damped cloth can be used for further cleaning.
Avoid use of any abrasive compounds on the cabinet as doing so may
damage the fine finish.
Caution: Do not use vacuum cleaner on the drive units of your speakers.
Doing so may damage your speakers.
