Thermo Comfort Surface Heater
INSTALLATION and OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

To operate the surface heating option simply press the On/Off button to activate the heater.
1st Press: The keypad will display a red light indicated the heater is on at the ‘HIGH’ heat setting.
2nd Press: The keypad will begin blinking once to indicate the ‘MEDIUM’ heat setting.
3rd Press: The keypad will begin blinking twice to indicate the ‘LOW’ heat setting.
4th Press: The Thermo Comfort heating stops and the system powers off.
• It is recommended to turn the heater on for at least five minutes prior to entering the bath.
• The Thermo Comfort system is programmed with an automatic timer that will switch off the heater after 30 minutes
of use.
• If at any time you feel uncomfortable with the temperature of the heating area, simply press the On/Off button until
the red indicator light is off.

• Mount the Thermo Comfort control box at least 1-1/2” (4cm) above the surface where the bath will be installed.
• The unit must be connected to a power supply circuitprotected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
• This GFCI must be provided by theelectrician/installer and should be routinely tested.
• Disconnect the unit and have any problem corrected by a qualified electrician before using the bathtub.
• Outside the USA and Canada, refer to applicable standards for electrical installation.
Certain bath configurations will require the Thermo Comfort transformer control box to be shipped
separate from the bath. In this instance, the keypad and heater pad will be installed on the bath
and the following steps should be performed to complete the installation:
• The transformer box must be attached to the bath tub base and lay flat on its bottom. Never install the trans-
former box laying on any other side but the bottom.
• Connect the transformer box to the Thermo Comfort pad using the cable provided. It is very important to route
the 24V cable avoiding any contact or close proximity with any other cable or cord of the bathtub installation.
The 24V cable shall be secured to the bathtub structure using electrical tape, wire ties or tie-wraps.
• Connect the keypad to the transformer box using the cable provided and secure the cable to the bathtub struc-
ture using electrical tape or tie-wraps.
• Before finalizing the installation the unit should be tested.
• Press the On/Off button and after 3-5 minutes you should be able to feel the heat on the inside surface of the
bathtub.
NOTE: For Vivere™MicroSilk®-Whirlpool baths with the Active Drain Option, the Thermo Comfort control box
will be installed on the drain end of the bath. Therefore, electrical service will need to be provided on both ends of the
bath.
Transformer Box Installation
The Thermo Comfort control box is located on the packing board for shipping purposes only and
should be installed following the listed guidelines.
